On Tuesday, November 1st, 2022, at 3:30 in the afternoon, I was laid off from a job I'd had for sixteen years. Most people would immediately start looking for new employment, but I am trying something different.
In 2017, I started GenXGrownUp, a content creation brand focusing on and celebrating everything great about Generation X culture. It includes a UA-cam channel, audio podcasts, and a website.
I decided to take this unexpected opportunity to chase my dream of growing GenXGrownUp so that it can support me financially and ultimately become my full-time job, and following that process is what the vlog is all about.

I'm sorry about your freezer and AC situation. I had a little self-inflicted disaster on Saturday. I delivered a pressure washer that I borrowed from a family member and couldn't get the back hatch of my minivan to close. I figured I'd deal with it when I got back and drove home with it open (it was a short drive). Me being the idiot that I am I forgot about it and drove into the garage with it open. The back window exploded everywhere...and the mounts for the back wiper broke too. Life's an adventure. At least I'm never bored.
Thank you for the update, as always, Jon. I haven't yet seen your Friday video yet, although I will today. Sorry to hear that you went through that issue with your tripped breaker for the A/C repair,, and had to clean out the deep freezer like that. All's good in the end though. See you nexterday, after I finish work.

Eek. That's awful about the freezer. Years ago I had a no heat call where the furnace was plugged with soot, so I had to clean it. Unfortunately, when I left I forgot to plug back in their sump pump, which I had to temporarily unplug to use my vacuum. A few days later we get a call that their basement was flooded. Luckily, nothing was damaged, as the furnace was horizontal and attached to the ceiling joists rather than sitting on the floor, and the water heater was up on blocks, but I never forgot again, that's for sure!
Oh, boy. Home maintenance is a master who is never satisfied!
Your constant disparagement of the excellent 2600 port of Double Dragon is both erroneous and nettlesome.
Do you guys have an Aldis in your area? Food is much cheaper if you need to refill the freezer. Sorry to hear that happened.

Hey at least the deep freeze is now defrosted. Have to look for that silver lining somewhere.
They say things happen in threes so with the AC, Tyres and Freezer, you should be good for a while :-) Keep up the awesome work and have a good one Jon!

I have a suggestion for the Friday Play this week. Why don’t you play Double Dragon? I never seen the 2600 port and it would be interesting to see you cover a game you don’t care for.
