For me...yes. There was a lot that I needed to learn to go to veterinary school in undergrad. I consider myself an outlier because I've known what I wanted to do since I was about five years old and college was always part of that equation to get where I wanted to be.
Also worth noting that you don't ~technically~ need a degree to get accepted into some (most?) vet schools but I feel like my degree really helped me understand some really fundamental things that are part of every day life as a vet!
