I never heard fretless bass until this album. At least not like this. So while my friends were listening to Eric Clapton and Fink Ployd on a loop because their FM formatted dj told them to, I went on with this, Dimeola, Camel etc., and never looked back. Ah, when talent and music were real.
To all the dumbos hating Phil Collins as drummer, listen carefully to Genesis Archives The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Live. Genesis fan from 1972, went to 8 Genesis concerts till 1987. After that they produced musical shit. I think Collins is musically schizophrenic, I never got to digest switching from The Fountain of Salmacis to You Can't Hurry Love. But he is a genius drummer.
phil always complained that he was skint, Midway through the 1974/5 lamb world tour, gabriel quit in the usa leg,, the tour manager offered him £1000 to finish the tour, phil said 'if peter gets £1k, we all want £1k 'Genesis didn't break even until 1976. 9:46 on, you could almost say that was bonham playing his ambers. Such a versatile chappie is old phil.
:)...Thanks so much for the upload...A group fading into history...Saw them in 2018 in Sellersville PA sans Phil but Kenwood is a great Phil in...:) Product, Moroccan Roll and this album are the peak of fusion...Some of Phil's best work...
My favorite band. I'm so glad I am able to share this with you! Keep the Brand X flame burning 😎
@@civilian8697 It's easy to love them...:)
@@godbluffvdgg For sure 🙂
I think it was Penns Landing I saw them.
I Can't rightly recollect.
That was Thai Stick and Southern Comfort times.
This is some of the best shit ever made. Fact.
Bought the CD when it came out 22 years ago.
It was probably 1994, at six p.m.Job was over and a friend of mine i was working with told me " Brand X is in town , live in Albatros theatre but tickets are sold out ! ". The theatre was on my way home , so i thought " let me see if i can get a ticket ".Well, they were NOT sold out .
.i saw them in Genova ( with Pierre Morlaine , GONG'S drummer ) and at the end of the performance i have known personally John Goodsall and Percy Jones.
Unforgettable night , Immortal music.
Incredibly tight and energetic!
Era era muito rápido no pedal e o controle. Muito limpo. Brilhante
Christ these lads were as good as weather report!!!
... Better, I've seen both
I like the back of the Moroccan Roll album, Phil is holding a joint
Como se hace esto? puro placer acustico.
Phil Collins at his best! Could you please list the names of the tracks? Thanks for posting this. It is amazing!
1) Miserable Virgin
2) Tito's Leg
3) Why Won't You Lend Me Yours?
These are demos and early takes of tracks that made it to the albums (except for Tito's Leg). The tapes were found by John Goodsall and remastered under different titles.
@@civilian8697 Thanks so much! I also love the other pre Unorthodox album 'Missing Period'. Phil is so good on that too. I think theses are in many ways better than the official albums. Just so raw!
@@goesjem Indeed! What a fantastic band 🙂
@@civilian8697 if you would be so kind, pin/fix this info to the top 😘
It's been said before but Phil always played his ass off when fully bearded, clean shaven he was so different
Maybe we should call him Sampson Collins 😃
@@psyclotronxx3083 lmao 🤣
@@psyclotronxx3083😂You’re not wrong there, lose the hair, lose the power 😂
I never heard fretless bass until this album. At least not like this. So while my friends were listening to Eric Clapton and Fink Ployd on a loop because their FM formatted dj told them to, I went on with this, Dimeola, Camel etc., and never looked back. Ah, when talent and music were real.
Phil Is a God here
My bass player took lessons from Percy Jones !
So lucky !!! Where ?
I played brand x at the interval of a gig my band were playing. A waitress came up to me and said ( play that at right speed ) 😂😂😂
Where are you finding these recordings man ? I love this!!! Totally different version!
This is from the CD Missing Period. There are 3 more tracks on it that I have posted on my channel under the title "The Peel Sessions"

rip john goodsall
Note how this version is in a different key?
They then all had solo/side projects. phil realised money is in selling out for commercial mediocrity. pension guaranteed.
@@TONE11111Well it’s his choice and it was a good one, he’ll never be skint again, not a fan of his solo work though
I think this has Preston Heyman on percussion too.
It does. Sorry I forgot to credit him.
🎵🎶 😎👍 🎶🎵
🎶
listen collins on two sides of peter banks, incredible
I also hear a percussionist - Morris Pert perhaps?
Preston Heyman
il doit y avoir aussi Moris Pert aux percussions ?
C'était avant que Morris ne rejoigne. Ici, nous avons Preston Heyman aux percussions
