Honestly they should have given an option for mushroom to live or die. For example if Sean lets her out she dies and if Sean ignores her they could just leave the area and mushroom stays alive. I know it’s a video game but I cried over small pixel puppy and rest of the game all my thoughts were about her. Barely payed attention to choices and story line after her death unfortunately

this scene litreally destroyed me like i had to replay the entire chaptre just to try and see if i don't open the door the dog would survive but what acutally made me really sad that when i chose to step farward i didn't expect it to take the dog i was really destroyed by that moment
I know this situation majorly sucks and there are other ways they could've done it, but it's a perfect example of how nuanced the choices are in this game. Killing an innocent animal and your brother can be slightly comforted by the burial, or letting it go and upsetting your brother even more with no proper burial
@@theotheseaeagle Daniel's a kid. I don't think a child is capable of such mindset, especially if it's their beloved pet that died. That's why scaring the cougar off teaches him responsibility, but also pushes toward bad relationship with him.
I get it's in that pumas nature... but mushroom is family. Killing that puma doesn't help ease the situation, but the #1 law of nature is to not attract the attention of a predator greater than you. So, that puma can die. I just wish the boys could've roasted it by that fire to not completely waste it's life.

I let the cat go because I just thought of it realistically because she/he is probably starving and it was just fair game for it we kill animals everyday ever minute for our food and no animal is chocking us out of revenge

this is such a hard decision being an animal lover. on one hand, you get to give mushroom a proper burial but you have to kill another animal for being an animal, and that part is really hard to watch :( or you can let the cougar live but then you have to watch dead mushroom being dragged away like a piece of meat and she doesn’t get a proper burial 😢 there’s just no winning w this choice
I know in the last chapter Daniel has a red handkerchief around his neck, if the mountain loin takes Mushroom away here do u know if he doesn’t have it then?
I still atleast wanted an option to scare the puma off without killing it and save mushroom to preserve after she lost her life nature is nature and nurture is nurture either way you feel bad and like somethings missing
If you want Daniel to have good morals, you stop him from killing it. The final choice in the end has four different endings depending on what you taught him was right.

I read a spoiler that poor Mushroom dies, but I didn't know how. This scene made me hug my cat for a good 5 minutes. I was not ready for this... 😭.
