On Tiki culture in the US. I'm a big-time Chinese food person. I've sought out Chinese food in New York (upstate), Montreal, Paris, and London. The very best Chinese food of my life was at a kitschy Tiki restaurant in a sketchy motor lodge across the parking lot from a Wal-Mart in Rogers, Arkansas. Yes really.
When you had mentioned guests, Clisare was the name that came right to mind. Love her content as well and your different energies play beautifully off of one another.
Mai Tai’s are just like Clisare & Ciara Sweet and lovely 😍. But a Pizza smoothie is just crossing the line. The man deserved the runs he probably got the morning after 😜. Oh and I subscribe to both your channels 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 and Try as well of course 😁
Whappatooly! In college they had Whappatooly parties. They would have a large trashcan lined with a new garbage bag. They would dump in a couple large bags of ice and a bunch of various kinds of fruit & melon. Then, to enter the party, you had to bring a bottle of something and dump it in. At a certain time, they would stir it with a big wooden oar and then start serving.
I hate that You Tube only lets you like a video and not love it!! Gosling's black rum is grand but to go really strong try Kraken Black, will blow your mind! Love that couch and the outfits spot on match.
Sooner or later someone is going to offer Ciara her own television talk show. She's so beautiful and totally at ease in front of the camera. Future star.
I loved this video! I enjoy your solo videos, don’t get me wrong, but there’s real magic when you’re engaged with others. You really shine in the connection and you bring it out in others, too. I absolutely loved the knowledge you dropped so naturally about the history of the cocktail. Top notch.
What a classic! Two of the cutest/craziest babes from TRY! Clisare's laugh is so contagious. Ciara bartending skills are awesome. Great stuff! These two would be awesome at a party! I'm glad you did a cocktail that I had asked about though I never had one made with mint. I sure it tasted great. Looking forward to your next cocktail.
How could you have never made one with mint? That and a spent lime shell is it's traditional garnish. And drinking through a straw placed within a big bunch of mint is part of the experience.
@@aneophyte1199 that's not a Mai Tai. The bar might call it a Mai Tai, but it isn't. Mai Tai ingredients like aged rum, orgeat syrup, and fresh mint are expensive for bars to keep in stock, so somewhere along the way the original recipe was compromised for cost saving reasons. Any combination of rum and fruit juices is liable to be called a Mai Tai these days, unless you're at a bar that makes a point of sticking to the original recipe.

The automatic CC for this was hilarious. Turned em on cause the audio seemed a bit low, and it replaced "vodka" with "fuck it", and that's amusingly accurate.
So, I used the Meadshine (since distilled mead is technically a rum) and Kraken, and floated just a touch of Kraken (because I was scared it would be too much). It's quite nice. The float actually worked well. I tasted it before and after floating, and the float rounds it out nicely.
Hello Ciara, The best Mai Tai recipe is Trader Vic's 1944 Mai Tai recipe. He's the creator of the drink. If you want to start making delicious Tiki drinks I suggest you look into Beach Bum Berry's book "Sipping Safari" or Martin Cate's book "Smugglers Cove " these two people have brought back Tiki cocktails by researching the founders of Tiki Don the Beachcomber and Trader Vic. Here's Trader Vic's 1944 recipe. 1 oz. Dark Jamaican Rum 1 oz. Martinique Rum (Or 2 oz. Denizen's 8 year blended Rum) 3/4 oz. Fresh Lime juice 1/2 oz. Curacao 1/4 oz. Orgeat 1/4 oz. Sugar Cane Syrup Garnish with a spent lime and fresh mint Cheers!!! Salud!!!
Great recommendations! And thanks for sharing the recipe :) The 1944 recipe is actually 2 oz aged Jamaican rum. Non-Jamaican rum wasn't incorporated until the 3rd or 4th iteration of the drink (in the mid-'50s), and the Martinique rum that Vic had access to then was nothing like the Martinique rums of today. So a good pot still or blended Jamaican (or Denizen 8 for the mid-'50s version) is still the best bet :)

3/4 oz. Fresh Lime juice
1/2 oz. Curacao
1/4 oz. Orgeat
