It's really quite rare that I find a game's dungeon music, often associated with the stress of combat and intended to convey feelings of gloom, to be beautiful. But this is beautiful.
@@aaronrivera2511 I knew other games and I played some of them. I played Undiscovered Realms and The Cursed King, but none of them compare to the original. I thought they were definitely not as good as the original and I kept playing that over the others.
@@nytefox2228 I remember the Harpy model and texture looking cleaner than the original's feathered creatures like the gryphon, but that's the highlight.

THIS GAME WAS THE SHIT WHEN I WAS LITTLE!! I remember being surrounded by monsters with my pet cat dying way before I did. I died where the dungeon looked like a green hotel or something. Too many god damn monsters.
I find this soundtrack creepy and scary at the same time not for the jumpscares but because of the amount of stress it puts you as you walk around the dungeon and all of a sudden you see a huge rat coming your way
Your pet is fleeing! Your pet has fled! Your pet is fleeing! Your pet has fled! Your pet is fleeing! Your pet has fled! Your pet is fleeing! Your pet has fled! Never put amethysts on your pet's accessories
I always come back to these when writing about adventurers delving down dungeons. Always gives me both nostalgia and that feeling of dread an adventurer might feel when going down dark halls filled with monsters and fiends, yet rare loot and artifacts await. One of these days I should revisit this game.
The actual Dragons were so big by raw model size that they actually pushed you back, both by regular attack and just trudging toward you. Their breath, oddly enough, didn't have any Knockback.
I remember being so terrified when going to dungeon level 4 and so on because of that, I was walking around the dungeon that had lava in it and got jumpscared by a yeti 🤣

I once used the code to descend 500 levels. Every monster was level 1, but I messed my game up doing that. Town portals didn't work and there was no way of using the ascend code. Even when trying to go up manually, it would crash. Never again haha
Coming to this after not playing the game or looking up a video in 10 years, this is the first time I’m hearing the soundtrack with headphones and it is amazing. This is far more advanced than I could expect from a PC game of this year. It’s incredible.
replayed this game yesterday. this track hit me so hard i had to pause, then i started humming along after 15 years. i spent so many hours and emails on this game that the wildtangent free play coin animation is burned into my memory
Ill be honest. When I heard this music in The Cursed King, I had a flashback to when I first played FATE. I miss playing the Orginal. At least it's on Steam.
I gotta say, the dungeon music for the "sequel" areas is so freaking boring I always mute the music and play my own. But the og town of Grove dungeon still holds up after 16 years.

Yeah that guy always creeped me out, haha.
Nah, I'm fine.
Getts the Traveler used to creep me out too.
Fate smiles upon you.
THAT WAS THE BEST THING EVER
I wonder what his smile looks like.
I believe fate is the guy in the thumbnail.
Sound designer: how much bass you want?
Game developer: yes
i love this games atmosphere. mysterious, depressing, scary yet aluring
me too
This was pretty much the only game that I know, even today, that has creepy and ominous dungeon music. It set the atmosphere so well.
Fate Undiscovered Realms, Traitor Soul, The Cursed King, and Grand Order are the ones that I know of besides the first game.
Hol up. THERE'S A SIXTH?

Fate, Fate: The Traitor Soul, Fate: Undiscovered Realms and Fate: The Cursed King
