Ofcourse! Additionally, you try listening to Ustad Shujat Khan Sahab once! He is carrying beautiful tradition of Ustad Vilayat Khan Sahab while playing out his own innovative way! I have heard Shujat Khan Sahab live twice and I was floored....simply floored! I didn't have fortune to listen to Ustad Rais Khan Sahab!🙏
Divine! Raisji and Nayanji great exponents of the sitar. Nayanji's tabla was superb. Wish the young sitarist all the best for his future journey and carry Raisji's legacy into the future.
These kind of artist are not made again and again. Allah aap Ko Jannat bakshe aap Bahut sache artist the. Thanks for your musical gift to your listeners

Very Melodious and lots of skill and control on Khansab Rais Khan sitar, zavari of star excellant. and credit also has to go to Sitar Maker and Zavari Maker for making excellant Sitar and musical instruments.
What a rare and wonderful video archive of a truly wonderful Sitarist! It will be even more wonderful if we could listen to and view the complete recording of this event. When was this recorded? What was the venue? Judging from how much younger both Raees Khan and Nayan Ghosh the tablist look, this could have been in the late 80s or mid 90s. As another little addition to the notes provided by Vrindaban Gurukal about Raees Khan Sahib's gharana, I may add that Haddu Khan and Hassu Khan from his lineage were the disciples of Bade Mohammed Khan Sahib whose last descendant Ustad Akbar Ali Khan (also known as Munnu mia) lived and died at the age of nearly a hundred in Hyderabad in 1984. His lineage is as follows: Bade Mohammad Khan, Waris Ali Khan, Abbas Ali Khan and Akbar Ali Khan. His adopted son Mujtaba Ali Khan retired as a Sitarist from All India Radio Hyderabad recently. In my youth I was fortunate enough to sit in the august presence of Ustad Akbar Ali Khan Sahib, this last representative of a great musical tradition. He was a Rudrveena player and vocalist of great repute, but who stopped performing for personal reasons long before he passed away.
Jaganji, I am pleased that you were a colleague of Mujtaba Ali Khan, whom I met after many years in 2005. Yes he regards me as a 'Ustad Sharik bhai', because I learnt the rudiments of Sitar with his 'adopted father', as you put it. Yes, the great Ustad was known as 'Munnu mian', or by some as 'Munnu Baja', but his proper name was Ustad Akbar Ali Khan. He was the last great musician of a tradition of North Indian music that died with him.
@@hassanazad5876 your stats may be right but it has taken most of 15 yrs for UA-cam to really penetrate our society the way we know it today, might be due to non-availability of affordable smart phones or whatever. I myself have started really using it (UA-cam) only recently.
Ustad Rais Khan has trained Saran Khan very well, I’m pretty sure Saran Khan also must be a Ustad now , I would love to listen to Saran Khan’s performance, would you kindly upload if there is any videos or concerts available, please upload , thank you so much for your efforts.
Complete surrender in front of Classical Music. Thanks to YoU TUBE .. nowadays we can hear so beautiful classical music which once was available only to Rajas. Film Music looks so pale in front of classical music.. Just 3 legendary Artists on the stage creates ecstasy and certainly, we forget the external world
And play, and play, and play! He could have got into the Guinness by the sheer length of his recitation. Once, his fingers, even as corned, started bleeding after 10 or 12 hours of rendition, which is an anecdote I learnt from the horse's mouth. Btw, please check his minutes-long rendition of Hamsdhvani in Coke Studio.
RIP Ustaad! Why did you migrate? Differences with Madan Mohan ji shouldn't have hurt you to this extent. Unfortunately, you migrated to a nation which, though is the part of this continent's culture, but bloody denies this core fact. Such nation /country can't respect culture, diversity, and such rich heritage of music. The artists who chose to remain there, like Mehdi Hasan sahab, Ghulam Ali Sahab, have much more and bigger admirers in India than in their country! The artists like Ghulam Ali Sahab prefer to live abroad than in Pakistan!!! Even today, their excellent artists keep visiting India to have better musical recognition, respect and better economic prospects ! Then why did you take this retrograde step of migrating to a country which, increasingly, is lynching musical traditions as "haraam"!??😏
This sitar is addictive once you start to listen to it

Exactly! Can't agree more.
Does anyone have a full recording of this piece to upload please??
Don't know anything about sitar but, damn, this guy can play!
Please address him with respect. He is one of the greatest exponent of this instrument. He died but he lives in our hearts.

"Baiya na dharo"
Who is the Tabla Player with khan saheb? Is he Pt Nayan Ghosh?
for sure it is Pendit Nayan Ghosh ...
Amazing tabla playing.

By the way.,
