This might be more fitting for 2020 tbh. The country is collapsing, and we have two dementia-addled racist rapist war criminals running against one another. There's a pandemic, social unrests, mass evictions, and an obvious and ominous looming rumble of a massive collapse of the system as we know it. Our choices are basically communism or fascism, and knowing America, it'll likely be fascism coming from the potential future power vacuum. FDR saved capitalism during the Great Depression, but there is no FDR-style candidate to save us this time. That candidate was screwed once again by the corporatists. All we can do is wait, hope, and if you believe in such a thing, pray. America was nice while it lasted I guess. Hopefully, whatever comes after it will be better. That's all we can hope for.

The enclave would just be the normal anthem, because they are the government. Everyone knows the enclave would fix the wasteland really quickly, but it's about the sacrifices they'd make to do it.
July 4, 2099 The USA is in ruins. Years of war and hardship have turned the beautiful country into a shattered wasteland, with states seceding left and right. On a raining summer morning, two people, their faces sullen and marked by decades of struggle, scale the wreckage of the Capitol and raise the flag for one final time.
While the hardship ensues, the smell of the burning of the Constitution and declaration of Independence fills the air. Small militias from Maryland and Virgina fight over DC.the whit house, Lincoln and Washington memorials, and the federal reserve of DC are on fire.the many small businesses places are overrun. When the anthem ends, the US is gone, and the capital is in ruin. Within the following days, Virgina takes out Maryland.
O say can you see, by the day's dying light / What so proudly we hailed at morning's first gleaming, / Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the merciless fight, / O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? / And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, / Gave proof through the night that our flag was not there; / O say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave / O'er the land once free and the home of the brave?
Lyrics that fit this minor movement.. Oh, say can you sense, In the night's empty hush, What so dimly we scorned, In the shadows' bleak scheme, Whose thin stripes and faint stars, Through tranquility's blush, O'er the ramparts untouched, Drift away like a dream? And no rocket's bright glare, No bombs bursting in air, No proof through the night, Of a flag's fleeting glare; Oh, say has that star-spangled banner been frayed, O'er a desolate land, where the fearful have stayed?
Oh, say, can you see By the dawn's last bright light What so proudly we hailed has at last lost it's great fight Whose broad stripes and bright stars Through the peril of war Which we watched in comfort has at last been torn. And the rocket's red glare, The bombs bursting in the air left our flag in the midst of the smog and smoke and tears Oh, say, does that star spangled banner, still wave o'er the land of the Free and Home of the brave On the shore, dimly seen through the smoke and vapor Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence came back to war. What is that which the breeze o'er the towering steep as away it blows half left up half left gone Now it catches on the tree that we torched down In the name, of liberty's crown In fallen glory reflected floats down the stream. Was the star spangled banner we hath waved O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. And where is that band Who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war would leave us a country no more Who with his words he warned and we so foolishly ignored. No refuge we ever were No protection that they came here for. From the war from the flight And the gloom of the war And the star spangled banner In triumph we waved o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen hath stand Between their torched down home and the war from our land Blessed with victory and peace We hath thought we were But a heav'n rescued land Was not safe from the depths of war. We thought, to conquer we must Our cause proved not to be just And our motto would come back to haunt us. And the star spangled banner it doth not wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

On a raining summer morning, two people, their faces sullen and marked by decades of struggle, scale the wreckage of the Capitol and raise the flag for one final time.
While the hardship ensues, the smell of the burning of the Constitution and declaration of Independence fills the air. Oh, say can you sense,
In the night's empty hush,
What so dimly we scorned,
In the shadows' bleak scheme,
Whose thin stripes and faint stars,
Through tranquility's blush,
O'er the ramparts untouched,
Drift away like a dream?
And no rocket's bright glare,
No bombs bursting in air,
No proof through the night,
Of a flag's fleeting glare;
Oh, say has that star-spangled banner been frayed,
O'er a desolate land, where the fearful have stayed?
This needs way more likes ❤
Amazing
I love it
Criminally underrated, mad respect.

Oh, say, can you see
By the dawn's last bright light
What so proudly we hailed
has at last lost it's great fight
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the peril of war
Which we watched in comfort
has at last been torn.
And the rocket's red glare,
The bombs bursting in the air
left our flag in the midst
of the smog and smoke and tears
Oh, say, does that star spangled banner,
still wave
o'er the land of the Free
and Home of the brave
On the shore,
dimly seen through the smoke and vapor
Where the foe's haughty host
in dread silence came back to war.
What is that which the breeze
o'er the towering steep
as away it blows
half left up
half left gone
Now it catches on
the tree that we torched down
In the name, of liberty's crown
In fallen glory reflected
floats down the stream.
Was the star spangled banner
we hath waved
O'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave.
And where is that band
Who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war
would leave us a country no more
Who with his words he warned
and we so foolishly ignored.
No refuge we ever were
No protection that they came here for.
From the war from the flight
And the gloom of the war
And the star spangled banner
In triumph we waved
o'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave.
Oh, thus be it ever,
when freemen hath stand
Between their torched down home
and the war from our land
Blessed with victory and peace
We hath thought we were
But a heav'n rescued land
Was not safe from
the depths of war.
We thought,
to conquer we must
Our cause proved not to be just
And our motto would come back
to haunt us.
And the star spangled banner
it doth not wave,
o'er the land of the free
and the home of the brave.
