    fun fact: notice how the french anthem was played so well by the soviet band? thats because the soviets actually admited the french quite a lot because of the whole french revolution thign and the paris commune thing, theres even a soviet song based on the french anthem (worker's marsaielle/Рабочая Марсельеза)

    listening to these is beautiful, they're all on point with the anthem but with a unique twist that's distinguishable from the other country's native bands, must be the different instruments or skillsets
    it's so amazing hearing an american band play the soviet and chinese anthems as well as the chinese band playing the russian anthem

    With the first two clips you can just hear the different sound in instrument quality… Quite amazing actually bc I never really thought about how the quality of a countries instruments can shape how we hear them performing their national anthem compared to them performing another countries anthem…

      The Germans also learn others and even if they don't, they practise it a few times before the state reception.
      A good music company/honourary company should be able to play another national anthem quite quickly.

      Tp be fair after WW2 the soviets tried becoming friends with the Americans but by the time they had put nuclear weapons in Türkiye so they had no choice but to threaten with puting some in Cuba iventho they never did it was scary how agresive the Americans wore

    I have a lot of respect for bands that play the Star-Spangled Banner.
    Not just because it's my home's national anthem, but because it is a funky, weird song to play. With all the flats and sharps, and jumping about notes, it's tough.

      The Soviet/Russian anthem is a really kickass song. Definitely my favorite national anthem, and there are some good ones! China did the best job of it in this video IMO, they didn’t try to speed it up like the others.

      @@aw9114 China and NK wouldn't even existed if USSR was democratic and friends with USA cuz the partition of Korean peninsula was due to both USA and USSR captured lands there so the peninsula was divided in terms of ideologies, but if USSR was democracy then the peninsula would had been united under democracy. Speaking of China, the CCP won because USSR supported them but if USSR was democracy then they would have supplied the ROC thus China would have been democratic.

    The France of the General de gaulle has never been an enemy of USSR. She may have been opposed on certain things, but France had withdrawn from NATO integrated command structure in 1966 to become more independent from USA/UK dominance. It was making France a neutral side with preference for western countries.

      France left NATO in 1966-67. (Our First French Republic Charles de Gaulle made that decision cuz he didn't trust USA and UK, he wanted to keep the identity of France, not sure)

Funnily our custom here was quite similar to Germany before WW2, so in an alternate universe Reagan may have thrown one hand up 😬

    No mistakes in the anthems but the tempo is a little fast compared with the instrumental version. The last USSR/Russian anthem was good. The cannon was a little distracting but still good.

    What’s amazing about the US is that an ordinary person can any country’s anthem and not be arrested. Pretty sure most Americans wouldn’t know what was playing. They probably only recognize the US National Anthem.

    I actually think the USSR probably loved the French and American national anthems and was proud to play them. They are stories of revolutions. And whether your revolution was influenced by Marx or not, was purely a matter of when it occurred. If the French or American revolutions happened later, there would have been a Marxist element; and if the Russian revolution happened earlier, there wouldn't have been.
