Language has the power to build our social collective thinking and the lens through which we view the world. So it’s safe to say that what we call things matters. Theater director and Native American playwright Madelline Sayet discusses her native language and how it has shaped her: “In Mohegan, art, politics and science are all interwoven, and so words take on a stronger more collective community-based meaning.”
