Hi from the UK 🇬🇧…… I recently went for an EDOF lens J&J PureSee and so far very good, great distance and intermediate also, can read pretty well including my phone in good light…..👍
Hi I live in the UK as well ,, could you please tell me your experience with this lens .. I am considering the Pursee or Rayone EMV from Rayner ..could you see 20/20 or better distance vision ? How is your intermediate? ..any positive dysphotopsia like glare, halos and starburst? .. where did you get it done please ? Please advice iam waiting for your reply thanks
As much as I'm aggravated with my vision, I am waiting for the accommodating lenses like the Lensgen Juvene, the Alcon Fluidvision and the Jellisee to be released to market. Hopefully that will happen by the time my cataract surgery becomes a necessity rather than a want. I don't have astigmatism, so that should make the procedure less taxing on my wallet.
That's a really good question. Envy came out very recently so it's hard to weigh in on its pros/cons at this time. Stay tuned! *Disclosure: I recently became a consultant for a B+L product that is unrelated to Envy*
Those are called "haptics". They stabilize the artificial lens's position post-operatively inside the capsular bag. Every modern lens has some form of haptic attached to the central "optic".
@@MaxMedertMD do they cause the tissue around the eye to raise a little where they are located ? And what holds them in place , stitches , and Will anything cause them to come lose if you rub your eyes in a normal way ?
@@thomascorbett2936 The tissue around the eye doesn't raise. I'd recommend going to Google images and typing "IOL in bag" to see schematics of where an artificial lens sits inside the eye. When I do surgery, I place the artificial lens into a bag-like structure that post-operatively heals down/around the lens holding it in place. No stitches are needed for routine cataract surgery. The lens will not come loose from rubbing your eye. It requires a tremendous amount of trauma/force to dislocate a lens once it's healed into the bag structure.
As a retired photographer I would suggest you consider a gimbal if you are going to shoot your own videos. Also, the world is horizontal, not vertical, and any of your staff could assist in recording these.
These "Angel's" of technology should be praised for the price of the reward of sight with so little time on planet Earth!

What is the contrast level of the lens? I'm asking about long, medium and close distance performance in dark environments.
@@Enki1903 I think the lens you are talking about is not edof but a spiral lens ?
@@atalayonline yes, you're right...

Hi Max! When can we expect a comparison between Tecnis Odyssey and enVista Envy? Greetings Andreas MD, PhD

What are those 2 things sticking out from the replacement lenses .
