Comparing his recent vocals to 2020 is fucking ridiculous. He used to not even hit high notes live (like the extra high in the final chorus). Listen to 2020 M.I.A and then tell me how “bad” he is rn. He sounds good and I’m grateful he didn’t retire from the infection.

I love avenged sevenfold and their new album. I also think Matt sounds amazing these days but the way he says “𝐖𝐖Orrld” at 2:54 kills me every time lmao. Guy is giving 110%. Nothing but respect from me, these songs cannot be easy to sing let alone perform in front of thousands.

It's his new vocal technique he'd been honing after getting sick. He feels for the resonances and that enables him to more consistently sing to pitch and sing with more intensity. The difference compared to his singing during The Stage's run is night and day because of it

I seen them last summer Tinley Park 100 plus degrees and that fuckin guy just blew my mind all night. He's 42 yrs old. J.C. Still more talent in his mind than most of us will ever know. The last 2 albums are tailored to his style where's He's at in life right now. Bravo M. FUCKING Shadows.

It’s apparently a technique to help him hear himself better.
It helps here yourself better really good to spot mistakes i do it myself
Try to sing with pressure of echoes coming from air, sound system, amp, that distortion, without downtuning the pitch note and we talk later
