    I know I am late to the party here, but a few suggestions.
    I would use one of those extra Intex ports for a back up suction for the pump in case of a problem with the skimmer. Cut them out to fit larger more popular accessories. You can cut bigger "patches" from an old pool liner to reinforce both sides to prevent stressing the liner itself.
    I would use the second one with a ball valve as a return to supply controlled pressure for the auto vacuum and hand held squirter toys. The bigger super soaker toys can be modified and plumbed to accept water from the slip on hoses used for vacuums. Then the fight is on!!!!!

    I have a pool just like that, you will need a plastic flexible pool connections on all pool pipes , the pool is made to flex with the water movement when the kids play , can not be hard piped.

    Man thank you so much for covering the skimmer tilting detail, this is the only video talking about it. I did same upgrade to my Bestway pool having walls tilted just like yours (oval 22x12x48) and I'm afraid of leaving my skimmer tilted in such a way I have to be constantly monitoring water level to prevent pump running dry. I know the solution for not relying only in the skimmer return line, but I'm searching for options before moving forward with aligning the skimmer by pushing it in towards the pool wall, enough to prevent any fatigue over time to the wall do to same reasons as you mentioned. I'm thinking on fabricating a skimmer spacer between pool wall and skimmer so it will allow the skimmer to be totally horizontal with reference to the lid and water. right now my skimmer is like 30degrees off between skimmer lid and water surface (or ground). spacer can be fab with 3d printer. excellent pool setup you have!

      The spacer seems like a cool idea, post a video of it.

    Hard piping is nice and clean but how does hold up in new England weather where you have to take the filtration systems apart clean and stored away for the winter.

    gotta use the Intex robot its awesome, picks up all heavy debris on bottom plus churns up any file silty debris so the filter can grab it. I literally have a maintenance free pool thanks to the robot. I have sand filter on a timer and all i do is add a chlorine tab every 4-7 days into the skimmer, the sand filter return powers the robot. I used to spend so much time skimming and vacuuming but no more.

    • @MrHarmonizr
      @MrHarmonizr  3 роки тому

      Just make sure to check PH and alkalinity levels, tabs are very acidic and will eventually eat your pump internals and pool liner.

      @@MrHarmonizr nice. One more question. How long do you run your pump? 12 hours? All day? This is my second pool like this, the last on lasted 5 years(last one the pools finally rusted out), used the liquid chlorine as well as a tablet in a floater for last season here in AZ In the last year and had my best less hassle season. I also just got my Hayward skimmer delivered as well, should be an improvement over the intex over the rail.👍

      @@EarthMonsterAZ I only run mine now for 2 to 4 hours but that's because I have a DE filter. My customers run theirs with sand filters for 12 for best results.

    I like the set up. Thanks for sharing. One question: what do you recommend to prevent rust around the joints? Thanks

    • @MrHarmonizr
      @MrHarmonizr  3 роки тому

      I'm not sure, the chlorine in the water pretty much wants to destroy anything unpainted. I've got a little rust on mine but It's not to bad.

    What about ball valves to prevent water flow if needing to service the pump or cartridge filter? Also a few union valves for when you winterize it if necessary? That’s what I was thinking of doing. Looking good

    • @MrHarmonizr
      @MrHarmonizr  3 роки тому

      Yeah that's a good idea. I have some plugs that I can use to plug the skimmer and return lines if needed. This filter won't need to be cleaned very often because of the lack of debris it gets and it's way oversized.

    I hate ripples on the water we have the coleman 18 by 48 window pool and I shoved a piece from an old summer waves pool we had the outlet. I can angle the water which ever way I want.

    How long ago did you film this and where did you get the reducer? I cannot find that dura connector anywhere - even online, every place has the hex head now :(

      I found the reducer at Home Depot, I scanned the bar code and here is the link to home Depot www.homedepot.com/p/DURA-1-1-2-in-x-1-1-4-in-Schedule-40-PVC-Reducer-Bushing-C438-212/202584500

    No shut off valves or quick connections to separate pump and filter for repairs. The pumps suck on these pools

    Is your pump self priming

    • @MrHarmonizr
      @MrHarmonizr  4 роки тому

      Not sure the exact details, but in this case the water is running downhill so priming will never be an issue. When you pool is below ground and the pump has to pull the water up, that's when you'd be concerned about self priming.

    • @croatiaoutlander5626

      I have my pump higher than the water level just because we have a lot of swimmers every day so we`re backwashing the sand 3 times per day, and lot of water comes out so we didnt want the pump to stay in the water. Intex pumps are not made as a self-priming pumps, but they can easily pull the water. Just open the lid, fill the housing and turn it on. It may prime right away, but wait for a minute or so and it should pull the water as a real hayward or Jandy self priming pump.
      Have a great day and take care,
