    My family and I was at Disney, the most recent time, in July 2023, and we stayed at the Polynesian. My wife mentioned staying at ASM for one night before we flew home. Tbw, even though we liked the theme of the Poly and the convenience to Magic Kingdom, we liked ASM better. We like the Murphy beds, and we really liked the pool. I didn't realize there were two pools there. The food court is better than the Poly's dining options, and we loved the statues around the property. Even though we only stayed for one night, I'd say ASM is one of my favorite resorts. We're planning on coming back the last of October, first of November 2024, and are planning to stay at ASM. I can't wait! Thank you for your video!

      I love this comment!! Sometimes the value resorts aren't given a chance but really they have so much to offer and we have always had just as good of a time here as at some of the fancy resorts. Plus our wallet is always happier at a value by far! lol

    does ASM offer a bus service from resort to Disney springs? as well as the theme parks

    • @MagicalResortsGuide

      Yes!! The Disney busses run to all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks from ASM. The busses are located at the front of the resort and you can find departure times in your My Disney Experience app.

      It depends on how you get there honestly. Disney doesn't typically mind for you to tour the grounds but they do have a security gate at the front of the property. If you are coming from a theme park or Disney Springs by bus you won't have a problem getting directly to the resort. If you are driving or coming with a ride service, it will depend on the security officer and how busy the resort it at the time. If you are staying at another resort, I would suggest going to Disney Springs and then taking a bus over to take a look around. 💜

    ?

    • @MagicalResortsGuide
      @MagicalResortsGuide  7 місяців тому +1

      We haven't personally done a Lyft or Uber from Disney so I can't speak to what they offer. I do know, though that if you book the "Minnie Van Service" through the Lyft app they will provide you with car seats. We have done this before and really enjoyed it. These vans are driven by Disney Cast members, will have car seats available, and typically only cost a little more than the standard Lyft driver.

    This is a fun and deceptively simple channel (They make it very understandable and relatable) and Jennifer is the female version of Bob Ross when she talks. Her voice is so soothing and relaxing you sort of just drift off as she speaks.
    I grew up in the 60's and 70's and to be honest, I was never much of a Disney fan. But I have been to Disneyland when I was about 10. And was underwhelmed by it. But when my younger daughter moved to Florida and planned her wedding down there(Covid messed all that up) my older daughter had I planned a trip to Disney World around the wedding. The wedding was canceled and eventually moved to NY. But we went to Disney anyway as it was all paid for. Both daughters had been there numerous times with various Aunts so I was the only first timer. What a fool I have been all these years. Between Disney and Universal, it was the best vacation of my life! Even Magic Kingdom, my least favorite park, (Still not a huge Disney fan, LOL)was fun and enjoyable for me. We went during Covid in February the day before Tom Brady won his last super bowl, so the park was not that crowded but still a lot of people. We stayed in the Pop Century resort because when we booked I wasn't all that thrilled to go and didn't want to spend more money than I needed and figured we would not be in the room much anyway. Can't wait to watch your review of that resort to see if you felt the same.
    The room ended up being fine except it had the feeling of an mid class motel rather than a hotel room. But it was fine. Just saying for the price it was egh. It did not negatively affect my experience at all. No real room service, so the beds were as we left them and we had to ask for fresh towels a few times. But that might have been covid related. No table service at the restaurant. It was like a well stocked H.S. cafeteria. LOL. But we only ate breakfast there anyway and maybe one late snake and not even every day. We went to every park except the Water Park. Which I think was closed anyway. And Universal twice. The Skyliner was right there so that was super convenient for most things. We still had to take an Uber a few times. Mostly for when we went to Universal, out to Denny's for Breakfast and for Disney Springs I think. The rest of the time we took the bus. Which was not the best and the worst experience of the trip. We had to wait awhile a couple of times and it was usually very crowded. But even then it still wasn't horrible. But now that covid has let up, the bus may be not so good.
    Watching the video, our room was like this room in this vid but not upgraded yet. We went before 2022. Same layout though. Just old and worn out looking. So maybe after the update it's better? If it got upgraded.
    The one thing I did learn about that trip was I like the more "busy" resorts. Especially at night. Thats the New Yorker in me I am thinking. Our resort "Pop Culture" for whatever reason, was dead as a doornail from the Saturday we got there until Tuesday. Barely saw anyone walking around other than the for the Skyline and the Busses and the restaurant a little. Even the pools had very little people in them. It was a bit like a ghost town. But For some reason, Tuesday night came and all that changed. Way more people out and about at all times of the day and night, just walking or watching an outdoor movie or swimming in the pool at night. Or eating at the restaurant. You name it. None of that was happening the first few days. I still don't know why. And boy, it felt so much more fun and exciting the rest of the trip until we left Sunday morning. Why I mention this is many of these type reviews show the resorts and they all look so empty. I have no idea why that is but I did know I preferred lots of people and activity over emptiness. So as we plan our next trip to Disney for next year, I know the less busy resorts are not for me.
    Just watched your Pop Century review and I agree with everything you said except they must not have gotten to upgrading our room because it looked like the one you showed except yours looked brand new and ours looked all worn out. Mostly the walls. The shower did look new though. We went in February 2021. But again, it didn't take away from the trip one bit.

      Omg, thank you so much! Your compliment was so kind. We love Bob Ross around here 💜 And thank you for sharing your experience! I, too, started going to WDW as an adult and love all of the memories and fun times we have had. It's such a magical place!!
      And yes, I think it's so important to know your vacation style and the feeling you like to have on your trip. Like you said, the busier resorts with lots going on are more exciting for you (if you ever want to splurge, Boardwalk Inn sounds like a place you would love!!). Some resorts are more spread out giving that "ghost town" feeling or just are quieter in general. Which other people may love. Sometimes I hear of people say that they had a terrible time at their resort and most of the time, they just didn't pick the right resort for what they were expecting. That's what we are hoping to help with!! Thanks for following our journey and supporting our channel. ✨

      @@MagicalResortsGuide Thanks for the reply. "they just didn't pick the right resort for what they were expecting. That's what we are hoping to help with!!" Well you did a very good job of pointing that out in the vids! :) One question, why is every vid I watch, not just yours, so empty when they film? Are you doing it really early in the morning or something? Just curious. As I mentioned, I went during covid and even then it was way more crowded than the vids I watch.
      I think my daughter an I actually went to the "Boardwalk Inn" for breakfast one morning. Eggs Benedict. :) At least it looked like a building from the Hampton's or Jersey Shore. It had a dock in front and The ESPN zone was across or around the water from it? And there was a busy looking street(walkway) with lots stores on either side a short distance from it. It was super nice and I could see where it would be way more active but the problem was all the stores on the Boardwalk were shut down for covid. So it reality, it was very empty when we went.
      My daughter told me it was the Yacht Club Resort we went to for breakfast. So next door to the one you suggested?

    • @MagicalResortsGuide
      @MagicalResortsGuide  Рік тому +2

      Yes, that would be the Boardwalk! At night, they have street performers, carnival games, and lots of night time fun going on. It's a great time!!
      And yes, I shoot my footage at odd times! Typically 6am and between 1-3pm when most people are at the theme parks. I personally am trying to show the resort as much as possible without being annoying to others that are trying to relax on vacation. I can't always avoid people but I do try to shoot my footage when it's not so crowded or will go to sections of the resort that don't have a ton of people right then just be respectful. We also tend to plan our visits during very low crowd times of year because it helps us be able to shoot our videos + enjoy the theme parks in the same trip. 💜

    • @boki1693
      @boki1693 Рік тому

      @@MagicalResortsGuide Oh, thats right up my alley. I will have to save my nickels and dimes up. LOL. My mother used to work for American Airlines so we went to Hawaii numerous times because it was cheap for us. Waikiki Beach where most of the fancy hotels are sounds similar to that and I know I loved it there. Oddly, we never went to Disney World. And my mother had just started working for American when it opened. I think because I showed no interest and my father didn't want to go either. That is super considerate of you doing all that when you film. Sadly, I would have thought of none of that about being respectful to others. The New Yorker in me again. LOL.
      Thanks for chatting with me. I can hear your excitement with every response you give me. Passion for something always makes it better. :) I wonder, have you ever thought of doing something like a place for people to share their Disney experiences? That would be so fun to read and add to.

    Great reviews Thankyou! I am choosing between Pop and All Star movies for a short stay . Was thinking Pop for Skyliner but I like the ASM theming better. Which did you prefer? Would you say the ASM grounds are greener? It looks to have more trees ? I am used to staying at Deluxe for fam hols but as this is a solo pre-work trip stay budget is best, but which one? Looking forward to watching all your resort videos ❤

    • @MagicalResortsGuide
      @MagicalResortsGuide  Рік тому

      Omg, this is crazy! We have a Pop Vs ASM video on the calendar for late April!! That’s so funny (should have done it sooner!) I personally like the theming at ASM better bc those movies remind me of my childhood. Oddly enough we watched The Lovebug on repeat in my house 🤣 So I really connect to it more. Honestly, the rooms, food, and activities are all very comparable. To me it just comes down to the transportation. Pop wins if you are going to Hollywood or Epcot a lot or you want to resort hop for dining. But if those parks aren’t big on your list, I would pick ASM theming - nothing against Pop, I just personally connect to it more. Hopes this helps!! Thanks for your kind words and checking out our video!! Let me know which one you decide on!! ❤️

      Yes, they do have a toaster for guest to use in the food court and typically there are condiment packs of jam/jelly available for free. I have also seen some jam bottles for purchase in the gift stores but I can't say definitely that All-Star Movies has them. If you can't find what you are looking for at the resort, you can always have a grocery delivery service bring some to your resort! I hope this helps! Thanks so much for watching and connecting. ✨
