I know a lot of us have been waiting for this one but I'm glad you made us wait. Other Phil Ochs songs you've covered like "Another Age" and "The War is Over" have such power in them and I'm grateful that I got to hear them through you
yeah I've noticed he does that in pretty much all of his covers, very different from how Ochs sounds. guess it's part of Monsieur Jack's style. personally I do think it sounds a little off for Ochs covers but there's pros and cons to both
A couple awkward intonation choices in this one. The low notes at the beginning of the first phrase of each stanza are a step down from the recorded melody; the high notes at the end of the third line, a step up. Shows off your range, I guess.
Wow, I just relistened to Ochs' recording. I guess I remembered it wrong cuz you're right and that wasn't intentional. Maybe I'll have to play with it some more.
In every American community there are varying shades of political opinion. One of the shadiest of these is the liberals - an outspoken group on many subjects, ten degrees to the left of center in good times, ten degrees to the right of center if it affects them personally. So here then is a lesson in safe logic. . .
Nothing wrong with Seeger. Ochs is making fun of liberals who act like they're more progressive than they are to get brownie points, so they'll go to leftist artist's performances
I cried when they beat Rodney King up And they shot Jacob Blake in the spine I cried when they killed Floyd and Breonna All those pigs should be doing hard time But Chris Dorner got what was coming Killing's wrong, even if they were swine So love me, love me, love me I'm a liberal
Much the same as David Rovics "Democrats make me want to vomit", they're still the better choice. They're just not going to be the ones we should go to for change.
It's so annoying because on the one hand you have people who absolutely hate pragmatism saying that we just shouldn't vote and the Democrats just keep doing nothing (ignoring some obviously good things, for example child tax credit) to the insanity of the Republicans ;-;
@@whatifiputsomethingsilly to answer that question I will ask you one. How many died under Mao? Or Stalin? Or Castro? Any of that is proof enough that Marxism and any of its derivatives are wrong.

Joe Biden is no liberal.
But Bernie has too much backbone to be represented in such a satirical way.
Actually Bernie shows up and doesn't necessarily fund things...look at him 45 years ago and his ideas have not shifted enough for anyone to notice
