Hi, i just downloaded magic lantern but my 700d won't playback smooth video I always get a choppy playback video even my Pfs override is correct pls help😥😥
Hey Damitri, does your video have little green dots in it when you upload to MLV or is it just my set up that's showing small green pixels shooting in blue hour evening.
I'm guessing it's not moire or focus dots you are talking about? Or maybe it is? MLV app should get rid of those. Or maybe it's something a simple 3x3 croma smooth (Inside of MLV app) can get rid of? I'm not sure what green dots you are talking about, mine was red and MLV app got rid of those. I'm sure your dots are fixable too, try googling a bit.
More is better. I used laptop 16gb, 3.0 quadcore. You would use proxy and optimized media anyway. Now I have a normal PC with 64gb ram and 4.5ghz quadcore. Davinci does not crash on 4k files anymore and rendering is faster. But slower hardware works too but slower.
Probably not. It's the same sensor as 700D. I'm not sure about the rest but I don't think you would be be able to record native 4k in raw on that camera. Make a deep dive on the magic lantern forums to learn more =) Good luck.
@@SERCA2024 Sorry I can't help. But if you have to do some research, try to Google "Magic lantern memory card test". And if you memory card is fast enough try installing latest build from bilal and add all of those memory optimizations. Good luck
Yes I got the same. UHS3 class 10 memory card. What Camera are you using? 700D? It's can only write at 41 Mbyte/s to the card. That's the reason for using 4k build from experimentals, it allows you to losslessly compress 14bit raw to fit within that limit. But be carefull, I had to flash camera firmware to the latest Canon version before installing latest 4k build on it. Camera firmware has to match Magic Lantern build! Good luck.
@@suryachereddy I only bought it because I wanted to be future proof and I wanted fast read speed of the card, I knew it was faster then I needed. You can go on Magic Lantern forum and read up on the speed test. You can test your cards speed inside the Magic Lantern to see what speeds your card can handle. I never done it. And there is a module for UHS hack, maybe you get some extra frames out of that. I just know it exists, you should read up on it and see if it helps. :: But before you do all this? You do have 4k build with 14bit lossless activated? Because if you don't have that, it does not matter what card you have.
@@IAMDIMITRI yes I have 4k build with 14bit lossless activated. I just benchmarked my SD card ( using magic lantern benchmarking module ) and it maxes out at 10mbps write and 30mbps read.
Yes. I needed to upgrade to 1.15 version of the firmware. The name of the files should include the firmware version you need. For example this name has 115 at the end, meaning it's for 1.15 version - magiclantern-crop_rec_4k.2018Jul22.700D115 . zip I'm not sure about the SD card, I just bought the fastest I could afford at the time and it was like 4 or 5 years ago. IAMDIMITRI legitimately you’re a legend, thank you dude. seriously, just went with the extreme pro sandisk also. Was using a basic SD card that froze often while recording, think this will do the job as well.
I followed every step of your video, but in RAW video I can only choose Bit Depth - 10bpp, 12bpp or 14bpp. It doesn't display Data format (as in your video), and therefore I can't choose 14-bit lossless, for example. What am I missing?
If you correctly installed 4k build from experimentals. It might be that you have activated the wrong module inside modules. There should be mlv_lite and mlv_rec. I don't know which one is the correct one. But one of them should allow you to do 14bit lossless compression. Hope it helps ;)
@@IAMDIMITRI You're right, I activated the the wrong module (the RAW video (MLV) instead of the RAW video). Thanks! However, I have now another problem: when I convert the MLVs to DNGs, each DNG is full of noise in the upper part of the frame, and black at the bottom. Has this happened to you?

I haven't done hdr myself but I'm guessing that it takes 2 different exposure to produce HDR image. That's why it's flickering like that. Try using MLV App and check HDR blending when exporting. Or use separate 2 frames from each other and blend manually. There are also apps specifically made for HDR workflow, like timelapses etc. I'm sure it should work for you as well.
