Good Video. As all the others as well. Just one question: You said, you travel since 10 years throughout South east asia, while playing poker... Could you do a Video about, what Countries are suitable for Poker Players and which don't? And may also include stuff like - Cash In / Cash out differences / Average Poker Knowledge in a specific country / Wifi + Intetnet coverage etc. ?
I often see people say to play tight-aggressive at the micros. Actually, I think the best exploitative strategy against your average 50 VPIP and 5 PFR fish is not tight-aggressive. When the fish limps, he's got total trash, so you can iso raise him with 72o and take it down with a 1/3 pot cbet. But when the fish open raises, he's got TT+/AQ+, so you only want to 3bet monster hands, and flat call a lot of implied odds hands in position so you crack his premiums and stack him. None of this is tight-aggressive, more like loose-aggressive when they limp and tight-passive when they raise.
Hi Nathan, another great video, thanks to you I am constantly winning at NL5(9bb/100). I am bankrolled to move to NL10, i am going to stay for a while in NL5,to be very comfortable for a possible downswing in the next level. Thank you again for the help!!!
Honestly bro I been watching your stuff for at least two years now but I half ass study and everything I can’t expect to be a pro right now but I’m getting back into it and learning to have fun for four years I worked an overnight shift now I work during the day a normal 9-5 and I have energy and time now! This is where it starts for me
Good stuff mate. I am exactly the sort of player your talking about. Evenings and weekends small stakes zoom holdem and small stakes PLO. Variance with zoom is crazy!
Hey Nathan, i love all of your videos, but I was wondering when(if) you are going to do some more hands analysis videos? Do not get me wrong, these videos are very good too and very insightful, but I just love more videos where you are analyzing hands sent by users. Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina :)
Hey Nerman thanks for the feedback! A few others have commented saying they would like to see some hand history reviews again also. So I will probably do some more this year. Just trying to mix it up a bit after doing 100+ of those videos haha. Thanks for watching my vids!
PE teacher who made $37.5k last year playing .50-1 online, $100-$400 buy in daily and $2-$5 live last year. Variance is a bitch though and 3 months into 2021 I am only up $3k.
Thanks for the video. On Poker Tracker is my bb/100 automatically without rake? And what does a good winrate translate to in bb/100? (For NL2-NL10) Cheers
Hi Nathan, I noticed most comments here are two years old. Ive been playing off and on for about 15 years all cash games at the local casinos and have been a losing player but just this year Ive been winning consistently with bad days of course included. I never played online before because everyone tells me that they are illegal here in the US. Also Ive always been skeptical about how the people behind the computer, especially the developers, can see your hands and manipulate the outcome of the cards Do you have any sites you know of is safe and I can play here from the US? Thanks. By the way how are you doing today in 2023?
I just can't win at cash games consistently, I was told tag play is suited for cash games and I sort of believe it although I thought the opposite so I just don't play cash games and I'm vary bad at them....
I play 500 MTT's (fieldsize up to 1k players) per Month with an average ROI of 39%. Buy-In varies between 5 and 22$ per tournament. I make an average of roughly 1500$/ month... BUT: Imagine the stress level of playing two or threee month in a row without making a single $. Which is still absolute normal variance... - Can you handle that? If not: Don't even think about beeing a professionell. And for BRM: I follow a 200-400x Average Buy In Strategy. So you need at least a 4000$ Bankroll and a ROI above 30% over a sample of at least 10.000 MTT's to make a somewhat consistant win of 1,5k per month... If u have played less than 10.000 Mtt's: Again DON'T even think about becoming a professionell...
That is tournaments though not cash. That is a huge sample though I think someone could chance it before they get up to numbers like that. Maybe like a few thousand. There is no way you could get to those numbers live in any reasonable time and there are many live tourney players even before the internet where such volume would be unheard of.
Thanks to Nathan... Learnt a lot from his videos... Made around $4000 from $5, in a span of 1 year. Played around 1m hands with a winrate of 10bb/100.. played only 1/2 Rupees.. Want to move up the stakes. Is it ideal for me move up the stakes? Thanks a lot Nathan.. ur awesome.🍻
Another factor i've realized in small stakes is players call with garbage hands and high cards and hitting. They do it mostly because of the minimal amount at risk and the SPR or just to be able to crack their opponent. It drives me crazy because they hit more often than not 😡
Tournaments are the only way to pay a small buy in and have a chance at a big win which I plan on getting back into tournaments but I'm still working on increasing my bankroll by winning and not depositing.
@@buddy151 I play 5 dollar turbos short handed currently and second place pays just under 10 and first place pays almost 18 dollars and that is 1 and six chances. If that is the case you seriously need to check the prize pools and maybe consider changing which poker site you play on.
How much I make from poker, well I just started again because in my state online poker was illegal up until last year so, so far I played my way, way up and down and back up so I deposited 50 dollars and worked my way to currently 185 and every time I clear 200 I play a 10 dollar sit and go instead of a 5 dollar sit and go so I'm struggling to cross that bankroll barrier but if I do my goal will be 500 dollars won until I think of what games I want to play next.
Hey Nathan, I just bought PT4 but I forgot to use the link from your website!! Do you get anything for referrals? Should I contact support to let them know you sent me?
Great video as always nathan. What pokersite or pokersites would you say are the fishiest today? I know you said 888poker in the past but that changed right?
NL2 srsly? Let's say you a an average winner at NL2 and making 5bb/100 hands. And you are able to play 8 table simultaniously with 40 hands per table/h. So u are playing 320 hands/ per hour. So it's 3,2x5x0,02=32cents per hour. Lets assume you Play 40 hours/week. Its 40x0,32 = 12,80$ per week... And now ask again...
NL2 is a tough grind as a regular job unless you live in a hut in Africa. But I do think you can make a couple hundreds bucks per month with some serious grinding.
@@8YvY yeah i guess NL25 is somewhat minimum to beat constantly before even thinking about to quit your everyday job (based on living conditions in first world countries). Would still recommend to have at least a part time job as a back up... Just because of the Variance in this game
@@8YvY You could do it at 25nl but only like if you played 8 tables for like 7 hours a day almost every day. It really depend on where you live, if you're like in Canada or the UK it would be barely livable most likely unless you have a very high win rate and nothing special in terms of what other people make in regular jobs but in a country with a low cost of living then sure it would be quite viable. I think there are actually a small number of people that play 25nl professionally living in developing countries. I did the math and you would make roughly 17 000USD if you played 8 tables for 7 hours 5 days a week and won at 5bb/100. If you were quite good I suppose you could make like 34k if you were winning at 10bb/100 so it would be livable in a country like the UK at that point but obviously not high compared to the averages. If you lived in somewhere like Kenya however you would be balling, so it really depends on how much you need and how much you're willing to play.

I agree with this, I prefer to play LAG when I am on the left of a big whale. Can't win his/her money if you don't get involved!

.5/1 online and $2/5 live you could make substantially more if you chose to play full time. Good job.

Americas Cardroom has Fixed limit Holdem. During peak times you can probably get multiple tables going.
