SOUTHERN BLOOD serves as a remarkable final testament from an artist whose contributions have truly shaped rock & roll throughout the past four decades. Gregg Allman's first all-new recording since 2011's GRAMMY® Award-nominated solo landmark, LOW COUNTRY BLUES, the album is among the most uniquely personal of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's career, an emotionally expansive collection of songs written by friends and favorite artists including Jackson Browne, Willie Dixon, Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter, Lowell George and Spooner Oldham & Dan Penn, meant to serve as a salutary farewell to his legion of devoted fans and admirers. Allman collaborated on his closing project with manager and dear friend Michael Lehman and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Don Was, a longtime acquaintance and staunch supporter committed to helping the rock icon actualize his very specific aspirations.
About GREGG ALLMAN:
Gregg Allman was undoubtedly among rock and roll's greatest and most significant artists, his soul-fired and still utterly distinctive voice one of the defining sounds in all of American music. From his founding role in the one and only Allman Brothers Band to his long and storied solo career, Allman consistently proved himself to be an iconic singer/songwriter and exceptional practitioner of the American blues tradition. Allman accrued a remarkable list of honors over his five decade career, including the ABB's 1995 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 54th Annual GRAMMY® Awards. Allman detailed his brilliant career in 2012's acclaimed memoir, My Cross To Bear. Now available in both hardcover and paperback, the New York Times bestseller chronicles an astonishing life and creative journey burdened by unimaginable loss, alcohol and drug addiction, told with clear-eyed wisdom and sharp hindsight.

RIP Gregg! Your music will be heard forever!
You are so right about Gregg being shy, He lived with my husband and me for a few years, He was a sweet soul and incredibly intelligent! I hope he's earned his wings and he soars with all those who left him!
I shed a tear watching this trailer, I'll not lie, but simultaneously my heart fills with pure joy at knowing that Gregg's beautiful & soulful voice will get to be heard once again.....& forever. Much love Brother.
I was at Gregg's, Duanes and Berry's burial site today. On the way walking that painful walk to his grave site, I found a Mushroom!...................I knew that was sign he had seen my sorrow, I took it and placed on his grave and had a tear.....So, .....I will hear Gregg Allman again, Sept 17th with the new album....I am not a religious man......I am a 40+ year veteran in music/roadies Biz..
Go rest high on that mountain Gregg
I can only hope that I see you my brothers on the other side
Serious RESPECT
Brings a tears to my eyes, and a smile to my heart
Must have this. RIP Gregg. Your music will live on forever. 🎸🎶🎵🎸
This fills my heart with love & sadness all at once.
I cannot wait to get this in my hands so that I can listen to it over & over & over again.
Forever Young will Greg Allman be in our Hearts tears of innocence
You know it will be a sell out. We miss Gregg so much; HIs voice, his words, his heart and soul. Can't wait for this release!
I miss Duane... MORE!!! :'(
Love is what this brings me ❤
So good. What voice!
Can't wait to hear the whole album. My Only True Friend, by Gregg and his music director Scott Sharrard, is every bit as haunting as Gregg hoped it would be. Smilin' and dancin' with a broken heart!
Met him in Macon Ga in 1970. I was 9 years old recording with a gospel group at the Capricorn studios. He was humble and shy as opposed to his brother who was the outspoken and vocal Allman. Funny how it all works out. Sure will miss the thoughts of what is next from Gregg? He was and is one of a kind.

The thought of never seeing him again, plays heavy on my heart. Gregg was a "Child of God, and a Believer," per his words. There's no doubt in my mind that his "Soulshine is burning brightly, in his Eternal Heavenly Home." 🔝🕊🎶💜🕇
