Thank you so much for posting this video!, although I'm getting on this train almost every month, but never experienced this most lluxurious Grand Class. It seems literally gorgeous, it is more gorgeous than what I imagined before.
Amazing video! I’m so excited to be going to Japan for the first time with my group of high school friends next week. I’ve literally been wanting to go since I was like 12 years old
So, for those wondering about the design of the front of the train. It is less about aerodynamics and more about sonic booms. The shape allows the train to travel through tunnels faster without creating a sort of sonic boom.
More specifically it's about reducing tunnel shock upon entrance and exit to tunnels. Part of this is compounded by the fact that the Shinkansen network uses relatively narrow, single-bore tunnels (to save on tunneling costs).
Thank you Hannah and Chris for this video and I am sold - will definitely seek out Gran Class to give it a try. Can’t wait to go to Morioka to try all the specialities you mentioned too!
The best thing about Grand Class is that the additional fare is minuscule compared to Green Cars, the traditional first class of the bullet train. Seats tend to sell out pretty quickly, so I recommend making reservations at the earliest occasion.
You can say a lot about the Shinkansen, but not that it is a sightseeing train ;) For that it travels too fast and through too many tunnels and with concrete walls on the side.
For a 3-hr train ride , the GranClass is totally worth it . Can't believe how empty the GranClass train car was . #CurrentlyHannah - you always manage to take us to interesting places and showcase unique and fun experiences.
It's sooo worth it considering the price haha. And actually the carriage was booked out for this shoot by JR East so I didn't get anyone else's faces in the shots haha
Thank you so much for sharing with us this beautiful experience of yours. I am a small UA-camr with plans to move in Japan in March this year, and honestly I feel that don’t need any other guide to help me to go around Japan, I feel that I can learn so much from you here on your channel. Thank you for that. Wish you all the best and looking forward for the next videos!😊
Oh that train carriage looks diviiiine. Fantastic choice for music! I loved the editing during the wanko soba . THE CAVE SUBTITLES, AHHAHA! I showed my wife the scene with Chris and the cats, and she said "OMG IT'S A CHRIS THING, IT'S IN YOUR NAME"
I've been here nearly 3 decades and your content is really excellent. I have no idea what would be involved in making a production so good. I feel and see it when I do it, but there's no way I could start to reproduce it. Same with your mountain stuff - which is where i spend my time, mostly.
Very slick and classy, well-done guys 👏 (I was thinking "it's alright if I ask if Chris was doing the camera work, right?" I knew it had to be him 😀) Looks to me like JR's objective was to compete with business class for domestic routes, and I think they've nailed it. As usual, Japan's nature in autumn is on another level. And the waterfall inside the (Rōkandō) cave looks unbelievable (cute kitty) Thanks H & C
I'm going to ride 'Gran Class' soon, so I'm happy my favorite UA-camr's GranClass video popped up!😊 Now I know what to expect. Also, thank you very much for covering Tohoku region!
Pretty impressive snagging a JR East sponsorship! The only drag about Gran Class is that the Hayabusa is so fast the ride doesn't feel long enough to appreciate it (unless you shell out for the ride all the way to Shin-Hakodate). Perhaps it'll be a bit more enjoyable when the Hokuriku extension to Tsuruga officially opens up and makes the ride longer.
A wonderful vid, as usual, Hannah :) It can be difficult to thread the needle on sponsored content, but it’s always easier when the product or service is legit HQ value (like both Green & Gran cars). Thank you; hope you’re great 🎉
Ooooh very nice sponsorship to get! With tons of useful information that I plan to make full use of in the future when I revisit Morioka and venture even further up North - which would be very nice to do in Gran Class! (Even though Hayabusa is my favourite anyway and regular seating is fine too!)
I have never ridden the gran class of Shinkansen. It is a good guide for me about it and Morioka I have been about twenty five years ago when I visited my friend who lived as a teacher in a senior high school there in Morioka. This video is a very good English lesson for me and so I've registered this channel, Currently Hannah.
I went from Tokyo to Morioka with same train , amazing how fast we got there and from Morioka I drove up to Kosaka to see the Acacia forest , that really toke my breath ,imagine whole town has Acacia trees arown it ,amazing experience.
Great review 👍 I was on this great shinkansen myself last month and i can confirm everything you showed. Except I didn’t have the complete cabin for myself alone 😁
Another day watching Hannah while having dinner after work. Love your videos, this was not an exception. Sending lots of love from your regular viewer 🥰
Granclass and the colors of Morioka, just wow! You put together the most beautiful videos of Japan and have inspired me ever since I found your vlogs from your performer days. You make it look effortless but I know it's so much work, so thank you! 🙌🏽
Wow! This was the video that just kept on giving and giving..... Great job Hannah! Loved all of it. If I win tatslotto, I will certainly be on that shinkansen in granclass!
Because of this video, I am getting to be wanting to get on the green seat when I go to Rural site from Tokyo. I may need to get on like this seat in Green car of shinkansen to get relax. and this relax feeling must be the benefit to my business . I may have to say you thanks. so, you are so talented to show us very good contents video.
I just looked up the conversion of how much the ticket price would be in USD, and my jaw literally dropped. It’s like $170, which was lower than I expected. I’d do a three hour train ride for that price in “first class” style, sounds luxurious.
I've been wanting to ride in the green class the next time I go to Japan, it's nice to know it's not that much more! Awesome video, and Morioka looks like a great stop, as well. 😊
2:55 DEAN & DELUCA was originally an American delicatessen, but all of the stores in Japan and the two stores in Hawaii have acquired the right to use the name from the American headquarters, and the Japanese company develops and manages the products independently.
Wow!! Definitely will be trying first class one day and spoil myself! Really seems worth it! Good to know what to expect hehe Never heard of Reimen before, it looked really yummy. Love how that restaurant still has this 50’s look. Also, the soba eating seemed fun😂 (Happy new year!!!✨ Love how your videos are always so scenic and full of life, simply beautiful!)
It's been a while since I've been on the channel, but you kill it with your production, the panning of your b-roll, editing, dudes camera work........ Japan not giving up the "d."
Thanks Hannah, another video/destination and way of travel to try for my next visit this coming Autumn..from a fellow Brisbanite....I love your genuiness :)
Ive been watching hannah for years and its funny as seeing her go from just solo cinematic hikes to a hot as TV presenter 😂i wonder what the next 5 years will bring for ya suga, xo your da best xo
I am sooo sold on the Gran class 🙌🏻 When was the video shot exactly? Mid October? I'm looking at going to Tohoku around October 2024 to catch the autumn 🍁 It seems like the video was shot at the perfect time.

Look at you getting the private First Class access! You’ve made it! Haha, it looks REALLY nice. Also, the “Australian subtitles” had me screaming… naur!!
The soba thing is similar to Pani Puri in India lol. Pani puri are mouthful of hollow containers made of wheat filled with spicy spearmint water that burst in your mouth every time you eat one.
i get that this is a 'sponsored' video...but....this is pure HANNAH brilliance. loved it and LOVED seeing Morioka and all the fall colours.
I love that you love this! 😍
It's the only way to travel! 😁
@@CurrentlyHannah hi how r its good video..i ve some questions can u plz answer...and i am new subscriber tu your chanel

There are many wonderful sightseeing trains like this in Japan.I'm glad you introduced the wonderful luxury trains in the Tohoku area.
You can say a lot about the Shinkansen, but not that it is a sightseeing train ;) For that it travels too fast and through too many tunnels and with concrete walls on the side.
OMG what a stunning video.!!! I've been following you for a few years already and seeing you grow is so refreshing, and inspiring.
Wow! Will 100% be doing that when i'm back in Japan.
I was in Morioka late October and that maple was just starting to change colours. It looked like a rainbow 😍
I splurged on this when I visited last June, it was lovely.
I was wondering why was the Granclass so empty! 😅
Awww, you both look amazing. My wife and I would definitely travel Gran(d)Class 😁 👍♥️👍
Hannah, did you booked the whole granclass? I don’t see No other passenger???
Thank you Hannah for making such a nice video.! Always support you!!

That tree is beautiful! a lot of the maple trees where I am at in Canada are Japanese red maple trees.
Beautiful ! Thank you for sharing Japan, in a tourism-friendly way. 😊 (I hope you take that as a compliment !!)
I absolutely do! Thank you for watching!
Great video Hannah!!! The GranClass looks amazing as does Morioka!!!

Yes, I agree! By the time we were done with videoing everything, it was nearly time to get off 😅
I feel like even if they didn't have sponsored it, you would have done everything the same and enjoyed it just as much. Brilliant video.
Hahah 100%. It was a very easy “yes” to this sponsor
A wonderful vid, as usual, Hannah :) It can be difficult to thread the needle on sponsored content, but it’s always easier when the product or service is legit HQ value (like both Green & Gran cars).

Absolutely! This was one sponsored video I said yes to immediately! 🙋🏼♀️
Absolutely! This was one sponsored video I said yes to immediately 🙋🏼♀️
Fantastic production! Really looking forward to each Hannah video!
Thank you JR East for the amazing service!
9:25 Chris interacting with the cat is such an anime protagonist vibe
Recently rode the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto and back, and part of me regrets not going for the full experience that this Gran Class offers.
No Gran Class when travellings down towards Kyoto, only Green car as an upgrade which sits in between regular and Gran Class.
@@Hans-gb4mv Yeah, that's the only other class I saw when I rode the line. Maybe next time when I visit a different part of Japan.
Ooooh very nice sponsorship to get! With tons of useful information that I plan to make full use of in the future when I revisit Morioka and venture even further up North - which would be very nice to do in Gran Class! (Even though Hayabusa is my favourite anyway and regular seating is fine too!)

It is the first time for me to watch the Gran Class (Shinkansen) 👀
グランクラス(新幹線)を、初めて見ました👀
Still thinking about that Soba noodle place- looks so much fun! Gotta get there one day!
訪日観光客の大多数が京都へ行くと思いますが、オーバーツーリズム気味でほぼ外国人観光客でごった返してます。

I'd rush to do it if I was you though, the exchange rate is not going to be as favourable forever... :)
これは案件でしょうが、この方がJRから見込まれるほどのユーチューバーさんというのがよく判りました。登録者数も多いですね
Lovely video..Really miss Japan...love it...
I haven’t seen 1 of your videos in seems like forever BUT this video was awesome I totally enjoyed it from start to finish 😎🇦🇺😎🇦🇺
That was a great video. If you have a chance, why not come visit Kyushu in the western part of Japan? There are many wonderful nature and hot springs.
I've been wanting to ride in the green class the next time I go to Japan, it's nice to know it's not that much more! Awesome video, and Morioka looks like a great stop, as well. 😊

Wow a Sponsorship from JR East???? That is amazing congrats! Would love to hear the story of that
Well, Brisbane trains will instantly help you put the "normal" Shinkansen back in perspective. :)
Excellent video ... great... I need to go to Japan right now.... jaja
Loved seeing how nice the train was and the beautiful destination! Also appreciate the different camera angles to show everything off! Well done!

Thanks for reminding me of the Grand class
All Chris needs is the food out table, and the man is set haha. That sink though…., tap, soap and dryer all in one. That’s forward thinking.
He’s a simple guy! 😅
If you go to Morioka, get off at Ichinoseki on the way and be sure to try mochi honzen.
Would love to experience it one time. Thank you Hannah!
日本を楽しんでくれてありがとう!!
盛岡楽しそう!グランクラスも乗ってみたいなー!!
Welcome to my hometown, Iwate!!
Around 1:13 Hannah's invented a new rating system, so are 2 oh yeahs better than 4 oohs? 😁

How i miss autumn in japan
This makes me want to go back to Morioka 😍
Absolutely epic filmmaking
Thanks Hannah, another video/destination and way of travel to try for my next visit this coming Autumn..from a fellow Brisbanite....I love your genuiness :)
The waiter continuing to surprise attack you with noodles was so funny.
Where was the luggage stored? Do they store the full sized luggage anywhere? Thank you
Yeah just like on a regular shinkansen there is extra storage in between cabins for large suitcases and luggage!
Ive been watching hannah for years and its funny as seeing her go from just solo cinematic hikes to a hot as TV presenter 😂i wonder what the next 5 years will bring for ya suga, xo your da best xo
the place was beautiful 🤩

I've been playing Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recently and a lot of the video reminded me of it in the best way.
