Yes he did...the first season Outer Limits theme. There was a falling out between the Outer Limits production team and ABC (note OUTER LIMITS COMPANION and great OL websites like We Are Controlling Transmission; one website is a bit crass in discussions but all are first rate with information and images) and ABC took over production for the brief second season. THAT theme was a reworking of the old ONE STEP BEYOND score by Harry Lubin.
If I have my facts straight, among D.F.'s many other scores is the wonderful SEARCH theme from the 1972 TV show and a slightly softer variant from the TV movie aka PROBE.

Gallagher was much more intelligent and likeable than Lansing. He was not difficult to deal with and he had sass. He set out to prove himself as commander of the 918th, and he did. He doesn't have to be Lansing to be good or classic. He approached things his way, and he was no loafer. He certainly had it all over Lansing in looks and brains. He didn't mumble his speech, and he could be human in his relationships. 😊

I preferred Lansing over Burke. Lansing was tougher and more spit-and-polish. I have the feeling that instead of commending CPT Carpenter (Stone), Lansing would have chewed his ass out before turning him over to the MPs. I also didn't like the way that they easily killed Lansing off. If I would have had any input into the script, I would had it as Lansing being promoted to Major General and then transferred back to the states for a staff job.

When I was active duty in the Corps there was one Gunny that I didn't really hit it off with. He would say "phony" a few times. That I remember correctly he would say something like, "I can always spot a phony." We were on a float. The N.C.O.s were all billeted together, Recon, Mortars and Tanks. The Recon Marines really thought he was a shit-bird. He wasn't a bad gunny, just a bit lazy and since he was ready to retire in a few months after 20 years we overlooked his faults especially since he had been in the Nam while things were hot and heavy. He never called me a phony but I kind of thought he may have thunk {pardon my American) that. I never heard what happened to him but I wish him all the blessing he deserves especially for hacking it 20 years in the Green Machine.

There is a true story that is stranger than this fictional one. A rather unbalanced pilot named Martin James Monti was sent to India, but while there he bummed a ride to North Africa and then on to Italy, where he stole a P-38 and flew it to the German side of the lines and surrendered the plane. While a POW he began broadcasting propaganda to American troops under a false name. His motivation for all his bizarre actions was his strongly anticommunist upbringing. He truly thought we were wrong to side with the Soviets. After the war he was court-martialed for desertion and stealing the plane. His 15 year sentence was soon suspended and he was even allowed to reenlist as a private. In 1948 he was given an honorable discharge as a sergeant, only to be arrested immediately by the FBI for treason. This time he was sentenced to 25 years at Leavenworth. He was paroled in 1960.

After the previous great episode, written by an outside writer, it is back to the wacko sneak who breaks away in combat, violates every rule in the book, and then is redeemed at the last minute. On top of that, you have to believe that a pilot would order 8 men to bail out over Germany when the plane was able to circle back for a second diving run to drop tits bombload on the target, then get back home with a regular non-emergency landing. My God, couldn't the 2nd season writers come up with something more real or original than this junk?
