  • Quick step by step on converting a CZ Shadow 2 from a DA/SA Trigger to a a Single Action Only (SAO) trigger. It's done in a Shadow 2 but the same instructions apply to other CZ DA/SA guns such as shadow1, SP-01, P01 etc

    Thank you for the video!
    I've watched some other videos on CZ pistol upgrades and SAO conversions and people don't always make it clear that removing the disconnector isn't really the point here. I mean - sure it will work in the sense that it will disable the DA mode but it's not really what 99% users want when they decide to go SAO.
    What typically makes a SAO trigger desirable is a very short and crisp trigger operation, with minimum pre- and overtravel. And this can only be achieved (in a CZ pistol) by installing an SA trigger (the actual part). Once this is done, removing the disconnector is really, as you pointed out, getting rid of the (now) redundant parts. And that's optional.
    And I do agree with the side note on the factory Shadow 2 grips. They do look pretty (especially compared to the rubber/wood grips of the older models) and I'm sure they help sell the guns. However it's a good example of "form over function" as, to me, they are more of "decorative dustcovers" for the magazine well and the main spring and not something that helps me hold the gun in any meaningful way. I guess the reduced width would be an advantage in a carry gun, but that's not really the purpose of the SH2.
    My hands aren't very big, but when I hold the SH 2 with factory grips, my hand only contacts the very edges of the grip panels at the front and rear, and the whole middle section of the grip is separated from my palm by a few millimeters. The support hand has a little bit more contact, but still - not much.
    Just yesterday, I replaced them with LOK palm swell bogies and WOW! I only dry-fired the gun, but the difference is really quite substantial. The pistol points way more naturally and feels very solid in the hand.

      All my CZs get palm swells. Glad you discovered them!

      I prefer the factory rubber grips over all of them. I have big hands, and the palm swells help me a lot, too.

      @dMaribo Yeah, they're kinda great and my preference after palm swells.

    when converting my S2 to SAO, i didn't remove the DA-disco at first, and my hammer ended up having 3 cocking positions, the middle one being the DA-disco engaging the trigger bar, it will even perform a semi DA pull
    for the TRS, i put the trigger bar + trigger in the frame and align the trigger with the floating pin half in, either left or right. just deep enough to keep the trigger in place, but still leaves room for the TRS to go in. then with small needle nose pliers push and hold the spring in place then push the floating pin to lock it all together. takes some practice but once mastered it assembles in a few seconds, should be a breeze with those stands you use

      thank you for sharing. For the TRS I just use a slave pin and it's never been a problem for me.

    I used needle nose pliers to install the trigger reset spring mostly, but a slave pin is probably a better idea.

    Where do you get those pistol stands?
    Or what is brand?
    I see many, but most look cheesy.
    Thanks

      If you're talking the black "plastic" one on the video, they are 3D printed - There are plenty of free models out there that you can 3D print. Find me in Instagram @cz_armorer and DM me there, and I will help you out.

    Is this conversion like the equivalent from when a dude decides they want a dudette conversion?

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  5 місяців тому +2

      LOL!! and in this case, just like the other, removing a certain part is also recommended for a full transformation but not required.

    Please do a video about sight pushing. Lots of ways about it to not damage anything and getting the result one wants.

      Best way is using a proper sight removal tool. They don't cost much, and they work really well with any gun with dovetail based sights.

      Seeing how you fit a new sight to the dovetail would be interesting.

    Watched the disconnector removal process in your other video. So just to confirm, once the disconnector is removed, the pin stays out as well, correct? I’m assuming so but never hurts to ask.

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  Місяць тому +1

      If you mean the disconnector's pin, then yes, that goes away along with the disconnector.

      once you convert to SA only you can no longer shoot it in Production or Carry Optics divisions. It's still legal for Limited, Limited Optics and Open divisions

    can you convert a SOA to DA/SA?

    • @czarmorer
      @czarmorer  5 місяців тому

      Sure - you have to change the trigger shoe to a DA/SA one, and add a disconnector.
