@CosmicGM The way the Nerdist channel works is that they do "seasons" of shows, so his show had their "season finale" a while a go and is on break until an announced date.
You could really tell that last episode when they promoted one movie from 150+ to top 10 in a couple of faceoffs. Totally undermines the list but I can see why they are doing it since the show ends next week.
Oh My God... I never realised Dan was the DIRECTOR of the short film PORTAL: NO ESCAPE (which has 11 million views on UA-cam) and is now directing a action film for Universal with the writer of Wanted, Fast Five and the upcoming 47 Ronin with Keanu Reeves!
PERSONAL TOP 10: *Honorable Mention) Jaws 10) Ghostbusters 9) The Dark Knight 8) The Matrix 7) The Last Crusade 6) Forrest Gump 5) Back to the Future 4) V for Vendetta 3) The Shining 2) Empire Strikes Back 1) Return of the King (though the entire trilogy is one movie to me)
I don't know if they find it boring recording VS! because the episodes need to be longer than just 15 minutes. And I know they have done a lot of them but it took years for The Good, The Bad and the Ugly to come up. More honing had to be done :(
If I had to do a top with the movies named in that video, it would looks more like : 1) 2001 A Space Odyssey 2) Return Of The King 3) Back To The Future 4) Shawshank Redemption 5) Star Wars 6) Jaws 7) Nemo 8) Forrest Gump 9) Raiders Of The Lost Ark 10) Die Hard 11) Ferris Bueller 12) Braveheart 13) Aladdin 14) E.T 15) Ghostbusters And I didn't see Stand By Me, The Goonies and Willie Wonka. My own top is : 1) 2001 A Space Odyssey 2) Fight Club 3) Mulholland Drive 4) It's A Wonderful Life (F.Capra, 1946) 5) Taxi Driver 6) Birdman 7) Stalker 8) Return Of The King 9) Persona 10) Once Upon A Time In America 11) American Beauty 12) Interstellar 13) Singin' In The Rain 14) Blade Runner 15) Mr.Nobody 16) Back To The Future Part 2 17) Eyes Wide Shut 18) Goofellas 19) Trainspotting 20) Clockwork Orange 21) Boogie Nights 22) Mad Max : Fury Road 23) Reality (Q.Dupieux, 2015) 24) Pulp Fiction 25) The Philadelphia Story 26) Shawshank Redemption 27) Blue Velvet 28) Lawrence Of Arabia 29) Breathless 30) Magnolia
guys where will u be , after it ends ????? and you could do some last reviews !? i mean i like seeing all ur old stuff , but what better than by finishing on what you do better than any other "journalist and other press " reviewing things , games , videos , boardgames , comics ! i mean u are the best , hope u still do that after.
Flickchart required hundreds if not thousands of ratings to be done before the list starts making sense. Simply put, TRS didn't do it nearly enough. A great segment to watch, but before they started honing their top 20, they should have done top 100 at least five times. :P
My Top 10 would be: 1. The Godfather 2. The Shawshank Redemption 3. The Empire Strikes Back 4. Pulp Fiction 5. Star Wars 6. The Godfather II 7. Schindler's List 8. The Dark Knight 9. Blade Runner 10. Fight Club
Yes, but that isn't the point of flickchart, the point is to see what ranks from what they give you. If you just wanted to list your top 10 movies, then take a piece of paper and a pen and write them down.
it's not manipulation. think about it - flickchart gives you random movies. It may be that your favorite movie didn't come up enough times for you to rate it correctly.
What's the hype behind Aladdin? Other than Robin Williams performance as Genie, I thought it was pretty bland. I'd take Dumbo or Pinocchio over Aladdin any day. Hell I'd prefer Fern Gully!
Too bad you missed a lot of movies. No Terminator, Alien, Hitchcock, Coen Brothers, Godfather or a freaking western! And Back to the Future should definitely be in the top 3. But hey thats my list so ill stop now :P

wow - sorry to hear it's coming to an end. I really enjoyed this segment in particular. Best of luck in the future!
I remember watching this when it was uploaded. My god how much I miss these guys
@@matthewcraker6729 me too! Lol
Wish this was still around. Where are you guys
Justice yes
I just watch every episode of VS again. ¡Great fun! So sad is over.
Please do 'What is that?' once more. Please!
@CosmicGM The way the Nerdist channel works is that they do "seasons" of shows, so his show had their "season finale" a while a go and is on break until an announced date.
oh man the stand ip part in the bloopers killed me XD

These three will not survive without this show, and neither will I.

If you haven't found out yet, they were using Flickchart.
I'm seriously going to miss this show....especially the weekly out-takes! :)
Dan is directing a film for Universal, I think that might have been one of the biggest factors.
Been a watcher of TRS from the beginning. Totally enjoyed VS. and I'm sad that I'll never know the result of what you'd think of Alien vs Aliens.
Alex does a show on the Nerdist, Jeff does Weekend Confirmed and other things, IDK what else Dan does.

Jeff's laugh is contagious through the internet, time and space. amazing.
can you guys do your 2012 top 5 lists before you go???
What a coincidence that so many of these films came out when they where children.....
They cherish their childhood movies too much.
Are you sure this has to end? It's still so good.
Great outtakes
Oh damn am I gonna miss this show.
Interesting to see how this list compares to the imdb top 250.
1. Shawshank (1)
2. Star Wars (16)
3. E.T. (
Flickchart required hundreds if not thousands of ratings to be done before the list starts making sense. Simply put, TRS didn't do it nearly enough. A great segment to watch, but before they started honing their top 20, they should have done top 100 at least five times. :P
I think I only saw that in one or two VS, it'd probably make my top ten anyway, fantastic film.
Jeff seems like the only one that wants to keep doing the show.
So was Alex's other show 4 Points cancelled?
24 Hour of gaming to bring the show back. Kickstarter that!
I'd put in!
This top 10 hurts my heart.
why are they ending the show?!
My Top 10 would be:
1. The Godfather
2. The Shawshank Redemption
3. The Empire Strikes Back
4. Pulp Fiction
5. Star Wars
6. The Godfather II
7. Schindler's List
8. The Dark Knight
9. Blade Runner
10. Fight Club
they should do one last episode of What is That? where instead of using scenes from the movies, they use all the alternate posters used on Flickchart.
were is seven, american beauty, the dark knight, seven samurai and so on?!
WHAT NO I love theyre youtube videos!
problem with flickchart is you need to do a lot of Vs. in order to the actual top 10. they didn't made enough ratings for that.
"But Dan, Jeff, and Alex could leave without clearing up unfinished business"
Could they?
Yes, but that isn't the point of flickchart, the point is to see what ranks from what they give you. If you just wanted to list your top 10 movies, then take a piece of paper and a pen and write them down.
Kinda sad the top 10 ended up just being "films I saw when I was a kid".
agree with Jeff, this list is missing so much
it's not manipulation. think about it - flickchart gives you random movies. It may be that your favorite movie didn't come up enough times for you to rate it correctly.
VS brings happiness to the internets!
There will be blood? :(
why didnt they do shawshank vs other movies
5 days in... Nope, this still isn't just a bad dream :(
To truly know which is the top you have to Re-rank them.
You know you guys could've just clicked shawshank and reranked that to where ever you pleased rather than just throwing one better thing over it
they should have gone to the flickchart all time top 10 or 20 and brought some of those in... like godfather.
How could none of the Lord of the Rings movies be in the Top 10?!?!
What's the hype behind Aladdin? Other than Robin Williams performance as Genie, I thought it was pretty bland. I'd take Dumbo or Pinocchio over Aladdin any day. Hell I'd prefer Fern Gully!
Funny that The Empire Strikes Back didn't show up.
The undisputable answer is Alien.
and where the hell is dark knight?
I can't believe you put Goonies above LOTR. Talk about nostalgic bias.
They are just not uploading videos anymore.
Omgg this is the last VS. episode.. its soo saddd
To go so long with Flikchart, then just completely throw it out and manipulate it at the end...so sad.
where's The good, the bad and the ugly, Pulp fiction, Godfather.. :'(
Love the show. Went back and saw LOTR trilogy this weekend after seeing Star Wars movies the past weekend. This episode was Total Rad Fail. No LOTR???
Where's t2
I thought True Grit would have been in there.
How the hell is ALIENS not on top 10... epic fail list.
Shashank is far, far from the number one for me. Better than Ghostbusters, Die hard of freaking Star wars??? Impossible!
Gutted, my favourite subscription coming to an end ...... bloody gutted :(
star wars higher than lord of the rings? that's just messed up
freaking pulp fiction?!!
THEIR*
I don't mean to be "that guy" but if you"re going to caps it and make it stand out you should get it right.
It is manipulation. The idea is to find your favorite movies not what you think they are.
At least i wont have to listen to alex anymore after the shows over
wait...no LOTR in the top 10!!!
Why are you not doing anymore TRS??? I'm seriously about to cry like a bitch with every final video you do..
This top 10 is questionable! Finding Nemo needs to hit the road.
forgot the godfather?
I'm sad they're leaving but they're really dragging this out.
I still can't believe that TRS is ending!!! I can't stand ip! 14:48
Too bad you missed a lot of movies. No Terminator, Alien, Hitchcock, Coen Brothers, Godfather or a freaking western! And Back to the Future should definitely be in the top 3. But hey thats my list so ill stop now :P
hahaha bump it, I'm really gonna miss this stupidity :')
Yeah, I agree. It's super boring at parts. I prefer movies like There Will Be Blood, Lord of the Rings or Back to the Future.
but seriously guys ..... Jaws not in the 10 best films ?????? Seriously ?
aladdin???? goonies????
