They don’t have the responsibility to redeem them but they do have the option to redeem them. Just how Jesus didn’t have to redeem us but chose to redeem us!

We do not merit God's kindness but he gives it freely to us

I'm not trying to just throw a Bible passage at you but give Philippians 4 a read if you get the chance. I really feel like God has led me to that passage this week. Who knows maybe it was for you!

But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

He was asleep in a public area. Anyone could go to the threshing floor, this wasn’t a private bedroom. While we may think there some sexual aspect here from our modern day eyes, the context shows there was none, as can be seen in verse 11 “all the people of my town know that you are a virtuous woman”

I’m not so sure. I agree it wasn’t a private bedroom but Boaz says “no one must know that a woman came to the threshing floor” why would he say that if it wasn’t inappropriate for her to go there?

Agree. People take this verse way out of context. When I have a son or daughter and if they want to spend the night, go camping, or on vacation with someone of the opposite sex they are with and they quote this, I'm gonna tell them that they aren't allowed and that the verse is being taken way out of context and that the threshing floor was considered public space and that Boaz didn't want others knowing.
