    My mind is blown…! 🎉 This makes a lot of sense. Sad part is… I’ve been practicing my Pentatonic scales every way possible thinking, one day this will make sense or someone will explain to me how to make this work. I’ve been trying to meander between Penta positions, following each pattern and sliding into a different one up and down the neck. This make sooo much more sense. Thank you once again from across the pond!

    Brilliant video. One of the best I've seen. Also, the visualizations help so much, I continue to realize. The mystery of the guitar, how it's tuned in perfect fourths on the bottom 4 strings, and then the "wrench in the spokes" in my brain, and probably many of yours- how the third string (G) in relation to second string (B) breaks the pattern and creates a major 3rd; then, it goes back one last time- the second string (B), to the first string (E) is a perfect fourth up from that.
    Now I'm just sitting here thinking...about the hundreds of thousands? millions? guitar playing human beings that have been wonderfully been perplexed as they explored the fretboard...The guitar is a brilliant invention. How it has evolved into the 6-stringed guitar we all know and love today fascinates me every day of my life. That's why I profess to the younger generation...Music is your friend for life, and an infinite well to examine over the course of your entire, long life. Music is one of humanity's beautiful achievements.
    Creating something, from nothing.
    "Ok 55554???5 y does da guitar shape change? Why do I feel dumb after 23 years, and still don't totally understand it...Oh, literally geometry. Tight. Math is cool, kids- don't skip out on yr math. Scalene triangle? ffs, I just tried to spell "Isosceles." Knowing google would auto-correct, I smashed down..."Iscolece" - Everyone, I think we're are all becoming collectively more stupid..."Spell isosceles in 10 seconds..." ("Chik-chik---- BOOM!)
    This is getting weird so I'm gonna go make more MUSIC, because it's FUN! Thanks for the VIDEO, great instruction here.

    Can you use the triangle shape in any order. I follow the logic in all your videos but when it comes to applying it on the guitar, i dont follow exactly when to use it or in what order and how to know which position you are in for the sequence that you are talking about.

    • @shreduntilbed
      @shreduntilbed Рік тому +2

      Each triangle corresponds to a pentatonic box position. So your classic box 1 is scalene, 2 is iso, 3 is scalene, 4 is iso and 5 is right angle.

    Hi Ricky, I liked the background music. It gives a grounding rhythmic structure and context for playing, and making the pentatonic scale more melodic. If you’re going to be leaving it out, would you suggest a key and backing track to play to? It so easy for me to get all “plinky-plunk” with my scales without a backing track. Thx sir, as always, you’re top-tier !!

    Why do you have the constant nonstop muffled music in the background that has no relation to what you’re talking about on the guitar? It distracted me the whole time and became the only thing I could focus on because it seems like such a weird choice. It’s just this constant kind of noise, where there could just be peace, and the sound of your voice and your guitar. Am I the only one who finds this really bizarre?

    • @rickysguitar
      @rickysguitar  Рік тому +3

      Funnily enough I’m ditching the background music. I’ll only be using it if the lesson I’m demonstrating is in the same key. I really only used it to enrich the experience as this is common practice with other creators. I’m happy to ditch it as it adds more to editing time as well. Thanks for the feedback which helps clarify my decision.
