The Green knight felt like a never ending massage, such a relaxing gem
It was legitimately wonderful to sit in a movie theater and watch something as slow and moody as The Green Knight. I was probably the only one in my theater who liked it though…
@@bencarlson4300 Same, about half of the people left my theater before the movie was even over
@@splumpy8469 A couple people laughed in confusion at many of the weirder moments, including the very ending (although I chuckled at the ending line as well)
@@bencarlson4300 The comfort it gave me literally made me feel like a child sitting near a fireplace while snowing with blankets on 😅
@@deringencoglu867 I hope the Blu-ray gives me the same feeling
That close up of Patels love juice in The Green Knight.
Man I was sitting next to my dad in an empty theater when that happened. so awkward. So freaking awkward
I was going to suggest watching this with my family tonight but after this comment I think I'll just go with friends instead
@@JackSpad3s lol yea spare yourself the experience
@@cecilabbott6092 Me too man :/ horrible
“Go into this movie blind”
*Describes movie*
Now I have to forget what it's about before watching it
@@ezra6094 It's about baking school and the pressures of using the highest quality butter in such a tough competitive place
What
I fucking love the elevator music, it really is unique to your channel
The mamma Mia movies are my favorite. Even if they're not theatrically perfect, it's literally impossible to be sad while watching those movies, which makes them perfect for my bad days

I’m sure you’ve seen it, but if you haven’t seen Jon Favereu’s (I hope I spelt that right) movie “Chef” it might make you more hungry than Tampopo.
EDIT: If you have indeed seen it, watch it again.
"it's the kind of movie i'd be obsessed with if i saw it as a teenager" i was obsessed with stoker when i saw it as a teenager. i couldn't have fully appreciated it then, but i loved how off-putting it was.
Omg I watched Tampopo in high school and fell in love with watching movies that have a different cultural perspective. Awesome watch list!

Ida was one of my favorite first-watches of the year, so glad you loved it too!!
Karsten’s infectious passion for cinema
makes me realize I wasted my experience at film school playing flash games and chewing bubble gum. Whoops.
I just wanted to say thank you for getting more invested in cinema as a whole. I actually started taking film studies as a class for highschool because I wanna learn more lol. love your videos!
I was waiting for you're review of Annette cause I knew you'd be the only bigger youtuber to cover it. You said my thoughts exactly, this movie isn't very accessible but I think that works for it. Viewing it through the lense of these inaccessible celebrities. The movie feels like a dream a exciting, lulling, lovely dream. I've already watched it twice and have been rewatching scenes online in between my full viewings. I can't get enough of this movie I think it's my new comfort film.
I watch these because you are cool and I like to see what films I might be into, so thank you for talking about carnival if souls because that film feels like it is exactly for me!! Thanks as always, Karsten
Best in Show is SOOO good! I watched Eighth Grade, Springer Breakers, and Clue. All rewatches, and Clue is the funniest movie of all time to me. I am rewatching The Sopranos for the first time in over ten years and it's a treat to say the least.
Fun fact, Karsten: Annette was written by Sparks ( Ron & Russell Mael), a band that traced its roots from the 1970s and is still making quality music to this day, even made the soundtrack for this film. If you want a more in-depth story of the band, I highly recommend watching The Sparks Brothers documentary from Edgar Wright.
great to see a new karsten vid!!!
Karsten ! Love the videos as always ! I highly recommended Pulse the Original Japanese one form 2001. Its a fantastic film and is a hidden gem for sure !
I just hope this video gets more people to watch Tampopo. It’s an absolute masterpiece and it’s really fun!
You watched so much great stuff this month! Proud of you!
Temple of dooms one of the only ones where Jones is returning an artefact to a native people though I guess

I love and hate watching these videos lol. I love learning about so many great films from you, but then I have to put so many on my damn watchlist!
watched ugetsu this month as well and it’s now in my top 10
It hurt my feelings when you said the 1st Mamma Mia was stupid
Thanks to this video for introducing me to Carnival of Souls!
Everyone hates on Temple of Doom but I love it so much. It’s non stop action, it’s dark, it’s gritty, and it’s just so freakin cool. Definitely a bit problematic though in retrospect
Man, I was so offended when I watched Temple of the Doom for the first time. I was like how tf can Steven Speilberg do this to me. But he got by love back when I watched Terminal and Lincoln lol

Have you ever watched Kolja (Kolya)?
It's a Czech Oscar-nominated film from 1996 that takes place in Czechoslovakia before the fall of communism. The main character is a middle-aged cellist who finds himself taking care of a small Russian boy.
It's a very nice story, I think you would like it:)
Seems like a good month. Would be interesting to see the average score for each month you do this.
can’t believe you spoke about Annette but didn’t mention Sparks
I wanna hear your opinion on the movie ‘Censor’.
Yes, censorship is a big problem in my country. Half of the films are either entirely banned or cropped. The new right wing govt is too sensitive

Am I the only one who is having problems playing the video? I had to open a 'in-private' tab to be able to see it
I’m sorry but Temple of Doom is not racist. Spielberg intended the dinner scene to be an inside joke because Indian people know that Americans probably think they would eat things like that. And this may be controversial but Kate Capshaw is excellent for what the role needs. It’s a horror movie version of the damsel in distress of old adventure serials so it shouldn’t feel real. Temple of Doom is the best of the trilogy and I love it
I saw Total Recall this month and thought it was awesome. Is it as awesome as Predator? I don't know, but I'll watch it again
