So much calmness on your face dude. Love your videos!
Nice. I usually do a coat of glossifier on top to give it a slight satin finish as opposed to matte. Better than chrome nonetheless.
+Brandon B i have a can of glossifier. Maybe ill do that
Justin Buice just so you know, if you pull off the tape while the last coat is wet the plasti dip shouldn't peel of when removing the tape. that's how I do straight lines with Plasti dip.
Shifted Perspective
What brand of glossifier would you recommend ?
RZA77 same one , plastidip with glossifier
How long do I wait in between coats?
I painted my chrome trim gloss black about 2 years ago on my 08 335i and I left the trim on. It took a little time to tape it all out, but was well worth it in the end! The paint still looks great as of today 👍🏻
For future reference, when doing trim like this, you should peel when wet. If you do it when it's wet, you won't have to deal with accidentally peeling or bridging when you remove the tape
Will it still remove easily even if you have done a few coats of paint that have dryed under the last one?
@@arturovasquez3 yea, if you have to just hit it with another coat just to get it wet. Then peel. Makes it nice and easy
@@mikecrelin4453 nice thanks👍
Best practice is to leave 1 inch (3 cm) space between the trims and the tape. It's not paint, so you can peel off every excessive material easily. It cuts itself on cracks or gaps. That's why it is used to black out logos and badges.
How much time between layers? Or you just do it till its completly black
looks great! was going to try vinyl but will have to try this route how seeing how easy it looks.
Cleaning the nozzle in between sprays is a really good tip I would have never thought about it.
I love the cinematic look of your videos ! Nice work dude ...
Thank you!
That is one clean BMW, can definitely tell you love your car, good on you bud!
Justin, you do a good job with your videos. And you're keeping your BMW looking good!
Thank you!
Nice work! How many sprays did you use?
If there’s some tears , would
You recommend peeling and doing it over? Or spraying over ? Good luck this upcoming season K Love ✊🏽
Great job man. Always enjoy watching your videos!!!
Thanks!
I'm thinking about doing this to my e60 5 series. Would you recommend removing the trim and then plasti dipping (like you did in a previous video) or just masking off the rest of the car like you did in this video?
That looks great. I am thinking about blacking out my 528i. Do you know how long the black will last? I think I will try this. Thanks for the upload
Was considering doing the trim. Didn't know if it was worth the time. You convinced me. Looks fuckin dope.
Keep the good job! Justin!
Excellent job, with no drips or runs.
The video was uploaded in 2016. How long did it last? Did you have to make some recoat work ? This would be interesting to know, maybe a short re-view video ?
gotta say this editing / shots were on fkn point, good job :)
+Mariz berv Ma thank you!
How is this holding up on your trim? I want to do this as well.
Looks good.im crafty but I think I’ll buy the 3m tape too do my 2020 Honda Civic coupe si
Wow! Looks so much better!
Should I add gloss look after? Or just keep it like that..since my car is white n has the chrome trim as well.
Been meaning to do this to my car. Looks so much better blacked out!
I agree
Hello, I have a question: Did you not sleep on the decorative strips, with sanding paper or similar? The paint doesn't stick to the chrome surface, think next time the black paint is partially off, right?
Regards
Good job, I called those tint & wrap place and they wanted $300 to $400 for the job and my car only need to black out the bottom chrome trim. The top is already blacked out. Just rip off, good video!!
was going to pay a bodyshop150 plus tax to black my chrome window trim out. not after watching this video i will be saving 140 dollars thank you my man and I totally agree chrome does not belong on cars it looks tacky. cant wait to do this tomorrow my 2012 accord coupe is gonna be blacked out after this cant wait. deff going to add as many layers as I can so if by chance i want to take it off for whatever reason it will come off 123...i also heard using a blow dryer when removing the plasti dip it makes it a lotttt easier if doing in the cold. in warm weather plastidip should come off no problem. thanks for this video man i subbed
Love ur vids man
Hi Man. i did a plasti dip on my e91 2years ago. and its looking grose at the moment.. I was just wondering how is your plasti dip holding on trims?
Just thinking to get off all the plasti dip and just paint them with a regular can paint...
How many cans did you end up using? Also how long does this last?
I have an 06 325i in white, and I'll say it looks 100x more clean with some eyelids to cover up those big reflectors
how do you think that will hold up to pressure washing?
I'm digging the rims you have. I have a BMW 330I 2006 W/ Sport rims.. I still have 81k Mileage on it.
What if you have plastic or rubber. For trim does it still work and will it come off easy too after time
hey i know im 5 years late but can i do this as well as masking around my grill and doing the same thing? do i have to mask behind the grill?
Really clean car
how many spray cans did you use for it? thanks.
I will receive a bmw soon. Want to also black the window trim. How long will this product last ?
Maybe you can help me with this issue I have. All the trims on my car was nicely done with a nice finish except for the driver side. The paint dont seem to stick. Now ive sanded it, washed it..almost pissed on it but again..the paint still does the same thing. I have pics if you want to see. But what should I do to make it right? Now I have to remove the paint again. Tks
your ride looks dope !
thanks!
Did you use just one can of plasti dip for the whole trim?
Super thankful you made this video tho!
One can is good for both side ?
Yes, perfection👍🏽
How long did it take you for the four doors?
what’s its lifespan how long does this last i need something long term
Thanks brother
What camera and lens did you use in this? Any color grading done in post? Videos look super dope bro keep up the good work
+The Inaudible Gamer thanks! I use a Canon 70D, Canon 16-3 F4, and Sigma 30 F1.4. The only color correction I usually do is bringing down the saturation and contrast slightly. Besides that, the natural light just looked really nice the day I was recording
Quick question? When you shut your doors, did you have problems with it wanting to come off after a warm or hot and humid day? Thanks for any input and great video bru!
been forever, did you ever find an answer? Looking to do this soon
Tricky part is under the mirrors. How did that go ??? Just spray in there !!?? Any runs ?
Neat job! Thanks!!
+Syed Abbas thank you!
What's the name of those wheels on your BMW?
I love you man I agree a billion percent chrome should never be on the exterior of a car
I have a vf commodore with a aggressive looking front, it looks great and has chrome in it
@@roblewis3603
as long as you like it thats all that matters. Im just not a fan of shiny things... i like everything uniform and not too loud (visually) 😎
i think black can rock chrome but any other color especially white and grey and any bright color (pretty much any color that isnt black) should be illegal 😂😂😂
Great results!
+Cutting Edge Cool thanks!
you look a bit like kevin love with the beard growing in
Came out awesome look better all blacked out
So glad I got the sports package on my 335i 😎
You saved $10! Congrats 👏
How long will it last til it peels off?
does this look good on a silver bmw?
what camera do you film with? btw love the videos man!
+Jonathan Avitia thanks! I use a Canon 70D
Hey bro has this lasted on your car???
How do your mirrors fold? I got a 2007 328xi and they don't fold
I love this DIY
What about the chrome inside your door? I sprayed my car and when I opened it I didn't notice the chrome until I sprayed.
Where did you purchase your rims?
How long to wait between coats?
How long did it last n tell it peel off
Good video...FYI : if you pull the masking while the last coat is still wet it won't take the dip off with it...
good tip!
Nice coats should last a while! Love the song in background 👍
thanks!
@@justinbuice how's it holding up?
Clean bimmer love the rims.
Justin Buice yea man I been watching your videos, you do a really good job showing how proper maintenance on a BMW guarantees long life and better performance, I've seen a lotta negative remarks about BMW, but you sir show the truth, it just takes man and his machine to bond together, I respect your compassion towards your vehicle.
One word: BADASS.
+Alex Daley thanks!
Why are all the e90 e92 chrome trim in the USA? They didn't have black from new? I have never seen chrome in Japan. All of ours are black. Or did you have a choice? Why chrome?
Great videos.
+Cristian Gil thanks!
What's up bruhhh, long time no see college buddy. Haha just stumbled upon this looking to murder out my new whip.
Are you going to tint the Windows?
How long will it stay on the chrome trims before it starts to peel off?
if you sand it before it should last pretty long, but like anything else itll come off if you scratch it
Bought my 328i with black trim/Mediterranean Blue with Dark Gray interior. I’d like to blackout the silver/Black front grill. My question is, is it easy to remove the grill or can simply tape it out and spray?
It comes out easily, but you are better off just buying a black grill for around $50
Very nice!
Does it come off in the car wash
How many cans did you use?
What camera do you use? looks very nice
Canon 70d
Nice video,Mr. Kevin Love😂
Justin please do something about the headlights with the gigantic orange reflectors!
+1
Yes please! I have the same headlights on my 330i e90 and I'm wanting to get new ones/get rid of the orange reflectors.
haha I never even noticed them until you mentioned them
in EU we have clear lights. mine is from US and i had to change it to eu sandarts
Anderson Reese what made you want the 330? Why not 335, or at least a 328...Isnt a 328 a lot cheaper, and like 20less horsepower? Ive always wondered why people chose 330
Great video Justin! I have a question regarding the the amazon link.I have the associates program too but when I paste my links in the description they are huge long links. How did you get yours so short?
+Integrafreak1 you can go to bitly.com amd paste the url to shorten it. Or install amazon site swipe in your browser and when you go to the product page, it will give you the short link with your affiliate code

fantastic!!
Also, try the High Heat/High Temp paints sold for use on engine parts. It will help resist heat fade/paint corrosion/chipping from exposure to sunlight over prolonged periods of time. As an alternative, use Bar-B-Que Pit black spray paint. Also high heat. I've tried various textures and Satin black (moderate gloss) looks more suitable for OE match, as opposed to high gloss or flat/no gloss matte black.
can I paint the pillar too?
getting ready to do my altima....
Great work. But something about spraying my car makes me nervous. Maybe I'll use vinyl instead.
You can peel this off...
The real key is warming the cans before use. Critical
Eddie Curry how do you warm them
Luke Bateman putting them in a bigger bucket of warm water
The microwave
@@seanfennell2457 Bahahahahhahahahahhahahahhahaa....I love you!
@@seanfennell2457 lol for any dumb teenagers (or adults) don’t put them in the microwave, they’ll explode
Hey man, i've been watching your videos since the first time i subscribed. They are really helpful. Anyway, I have a 2006 320i a/t 37T Kms and left it in garage for 4 months cos of work. When i got back and drove it around, it makes a sound and rattle just a moment every time i tried to brake going complete stop while on D. Only happened just a moment before complete stop and also a moment when releasing the break after complete stop, both on D but it break smoothly when i tried to do it on neutral. Do you happen to know what the problem is? The car never moved when i was away and the maid washed the car in the garage so i'm thinking the soap created rust? I want to know you opinion before taking it to the shop, so please let me know. Thanks!! Sorry for the English btw.
It could be rust or something from the car sitting for so long. Maybe drive it around for a few days and see if the issue goes away on it's own before you take it in. Could be something simple.
Thank you!
are you able to use the plasti dip on the black plastic panels too for the front and rear door or is this only for the chrome trim? My 07 M35 has some kind of smug on the black plastic panels that wont wipe/wash off is the reason i ask
+Osama Been Leanin you can use plastidip on anything. Theres a product called "back to black" that is meant for cleaning black plastic. You could try that first and if it doesnt work just plastidip over it. The only reason i suggest that is because using plastidip and masking everythkng is a lot more work
ok thanks, i appreciate your reply👍👌
Its ur car fixed now?
lol i did this one. its true chrome should be gone
how much cans did you need for both window trims?
One can was enough
Are those VMR V710 wheels? They look exactly like mine
+randomocityvideos yes
kevin love wheres lebron
How long did this last before it peeled off or faded?
if done properly should last years just dont scratch it duh
Did you paint those rims? If so, what color are they?
They came like that. The color is called gunmetal
How long do you wait between each coat?
depending on the temperature, around 5 minutes
