Justin Buice just so you know, if you pull off the tape while the last coat is wet the plasti dip shouldn't peel of when removing the tape. that's how I do straight lines with Plasti dip.
For future reference, when doing trim like this, you should peel when wet. If you do it when it's wet, you won't have to deal with accidentally peeling or bridging when you remove the tape
Best practice is to leave 1 inch (3 cm) space between the trims and the tape. It's not paint, so you can peel off every excessive material easily. It cuts itself on cracks or gaps. That's why it is used to black out logos and badges.
I painted my chrome trim gloss black about 2 years ago on my 08 335i and I left the trim on. It took a little time to tape it all out, but was well worth it in the end! The paint still looks great as of today 👍🏻

As an alternative, use Bar-B-Que Pit black spray paint. Also high heat. I've tried various textures and Satin black (moderate gloss) looks more suitable for OE match, as opposed to high gloss or flat/no gloss matte black.
Good job, I called those tint & wrap place and they wanted $300 to $400 for the job and my car only need to black out the bottom chrome trim. The top is already blacked out. Just rip off, good video!!

Hi Man. i did a plasti dip on my e91 2years ago. and its looking grose at the moment.. I was just wondering how is your plasti dip holding on trims? Just thinking to get off all the plasti dip and just paint them with a regular can paint...
peel the tape off right after you apply your final coat of plasti dip so it comes with ease and wont rip the part you want to stay on, off after it dries a bit
1 do not use soap 2 do nor spray water, plastic dip will not work in wet conditions 3 warm up the cans 4 tape need more distance form the spray part it's easier to get it off. Otherwise nice video!
I'm vinyl wrapping my chrome trimmed Windows to gloss black and I'm CF vinyl wrapping my interior trim.. and I agree.. chrome doesn't belong on any car.

+Osama Been Leanin you can use plastidip on anything. Theres a product called "back to black" that is meant for cleaning black plastic. Bought my 328i with black trim/Mediterranean Blue with Dark Gray interior. I’d like to blackout the silver/Black front grill. My question is, is it easy to remove the grill or can simply tape it out and spray?
You can try plastidip but it might not hold up if you are touching it every day. Vinyl wrap might be a better solution, but it will be more difficult to apply
