No there are a series of videos(like a tv soap series with 8 episodes) where engineers and test riders of past and present AT development talk about the bikes and there are some good shots of the AT going into the dirt
I could do all that on my Suzuki Bandit with road tyres..... Also interestingly the camera zoomed in so you could not see the suspension on landing some of those jumps.... Come on Honda.... Do better, I want this bike to be awesome.....
I agree that editing out the landings is wimpy. I do like the overall look of the bike and it reminds me of the shape of my old 2004 KTM950 and 2012 KTM 990. Although the KTM is still way cooler IMHO. I like the Rally inspired bikes. Glad Honda is making this. Why not?
+Fernando Ramoa Theres a whole video series for the bike. This is only the promo video. Watch those 7-8 video series for the bike and there's test riders riding the bike through all kinds of weather and terrain.
+cagednm69 228kg+ wet. Thats heavy mate. About the same as the KTM1190. Luckily less than the fatboy beemer 1200GS. Again, I hope someone does a nice 400-500cc adventure bike that the avg person can play with in technical terrain, and ruff stuff, while also fun in the city for daily comute. I have a little Crf250l. Its awesome, but needs a bit more power. These 220-250kg bikes are not for me. What ever you say, they are too heavy. Sadly there is a massive gap in the middle segment. Either these fat bikes, or too small.
Ofcourse in 2015 with modern emission regulations imposed by govts around the world its very difficult to keep weights down for manufacturers anymore unless they go all Aluminium or carbon fiber which will automatically raise the price again. Have you tried the 450R/450X or the XR650L?
I guess the fact that you mention those bikes proves my point. The XR is a old air-cooled carburettor bike, same with the 450x. The 450R is fuel injected though. Also both 450s are dirt bikes with much shorter service cycles, and no real overland accessories you get for long adventure bikes. There is a reason so many people on UA-cam travel the world on liquid cooled, fuel injection Crf250l's. Reliable, modern, light on fuel, light on weight. With heaps of accessories for travel. But all of them will say they wish there was something a bit more powerful. Would be great to have a CRF450L. At least it sounds like KTM is listening and building a 390 Adventure bike based on the Duke engine. Should sell like hotcakes
Bel video...
It's the same weight as KTM's 1190 Adv R. The problem with making them much lighter is they won't be able to take the severe pounding they'll be subjected to all loaded up on RTW type trips and possibly carrying a passenger.
yayoi1 Its not just about taking the pounding, its more to do with modern emission systems making the exhaust layout very bulky. Switching to aftermarket pipes alone would see considerable weight loss to atleast 4 kg at the minimum.
+Fred M but it's low on HP in relation to the other bikes you mention (except maybe the 800 or Tenere which are both well-established dogs of the class)
Note the very quick video edit at 1:16 to stop us seeing the shocks bottoming out and the skid-plate digging a trench!
+Bob Miller haha, nice catch
+Bob Miller Actually there's another video for the full landing with the same rider. Might want to check it out
+cagednm69 Are you talking about Joan Barreda's first impressions vid? Because the exact same edit is featured at 0:29 of that video.

ÁfricaTwin 🌍 de lo más hermoso

Love love love !
this video is a JOKE compared to Chris Birch's 1190 videos. Come ON honda! Wht's the matter? U dont wanna get the new baby dirty?
+Fernando Ramoa Theres a whole video series for the bike. This is only the promo video. Watch those 7-8 video series for the bike and there's test riders riding the bike through all kinds of weather and terrain.
This bike must be mine
Why would someone who loves motorcycles rather hear music than the sound of the engine.
Awesome bikes. Pitty they are so heavy. I really hope the KTM 390 adventure becomes a real thing
+maans le roux The 390 rumors were rubbished by Pierer a year ago.

***** As mentioned, Pierer mentioned at the Indian RC launch that there are no plans for a 390 Adventure.
Brutal.
why does everyone add a loud (and typically crappy) music track to their videos? I wanna hear the machine!!!! :)
Single headlight each side for high/low really ruins the look. :( Should be hi and lo on both sides.

io voglio il sound del motore invece della musica
'Trough it's paces' the impression is getting weaker and weaker the more info and footage is released...
esses designers da honda tem que voltar pra faculdade. que bosta e essa? todos os modelos da honda a cada dia ficam piores.
This bike is a pig
+On2Wheels Atleast it won't leave its owners stranded in the middle of nowhere.. coughKTMcough
Cant argue with that :D

Just not a good looking bike. Need to take some inspiration from bmw and ktm
Marc Marquez ist des Produktes Honda nicht würdig genug, sorry
