Ferris Bueller was filmed at my high school, while school was in session. It was one of the most exciting moments in my life when John Hughes and Matthew Broderick came to check out our drama class rehearsing for a play. I'll never forget how kind and generous with their time they were.

I still remember being the only kid left in the theatre at the end if the credits in the aisle when Ferris tells me why are you still here. I tried to calling my brother to come back in the theatre but he missed. My greatest movie theater memory of all time. From that day on I always stay till the end and the lights come on. It didn't payoff much in the 90s but since Marvel success the Bueller tradition has paid out.

Haha! Me too, because you never know if they're gonna throw in an easter egg at the end! Is it an easter egg if it's the end of a movie? I know there's a name for that but I don't know what it is. A button? A Coda?

_"[John] treated kids with respect, he treated 'em like complete human beings. Nowadays so many teen movies, they're objects of derision or it's all sex jokes or whatever, but he treated kids like they have problems, they have worries, and he honored all of that."_
When you watch these movies as a teenager, this is exactly the tone they radiate. You feel like you matter, that your problems still matter even if you're not an adult. As Grey said, it felt like John Hughes was validating your point-of-view and experience as a teenager. We need more movies like that in today's world. *RIP John Hughes*

We have to keep in mind that these are all filmed 3-4 weeks before they are released so this was likely done at the end of May. That said, summer is here now and even though we are still in a pandemic, people are still wanting to enjoy their summer and relax so it might just be hard to get groups together for the next few months. Not in the original movie not in the one that they play on usual TV shows or cable networks. It made me very happy to see the entire cast reunited. It was a lot of fun and the movie is one of my favorites from the 80s. The music at the end is iconic!

Awww the John Hughes tribute with the guest stars made my teenage years all come flooding back in an instant ❤, I just wish there were movies out in the future that my kids could embrace as much as I did all those years ago.. these films formed my friendships and my life xx

Indeed. I watched my youth unfold before my eyes, courtesy of the late John Hughes. Thank you Josh Gad for all of the episodes, and especially for the tribute in this one. Also, I literally applauded during the last 10 seconds. 😎

i agree. Ben Stein framed it perfectly that John Hughes had the ability to package a picture so beautifully. None of the films of today do quite the same.

Killer ending! Was almost in tears thinking of my childhood and how John's movies are so deeply embedded in my being. Awseome editing job. And it was really nice to see Chevy having fun delivering his classic speech. That man has gotten too much hate over the years. Love you dude!
