This makes me so happy to see you learn all this! :) I'm in my 5th month of becoming a mechanic for farm machines (but we do pretty much everything that has to do with farm, motorization and/or mechanics except cars.. traditionally wide spread profession). Repairing and (re)building stuff, and especially vehicles at home and as a hobby is one of the most rewarding things for me
This totally reminded me of when I worked on my old Mini 1000. Such an awesome feeling knowing you contributed to the life of your car! Enjoy it Ben, it's a hell of a journey! 🤙🏻
I know your new to the whole car fixing thing Ben, but I really liked this vlog. An i cannot believe I am the only one that wants to see more like this. So please could you do another like this in the future. Love the vlogs bro.
Nice job learning your vehicle, It's the most valuable thing you can do if you are going to go trekking with it! I would recommend buying a Haynes Manual for your car, they are basically the bible for car servicing.
Pumba is looking good. As a guy who also owns one, here's a couple of tips. 1. Its an old diesel engine, the oil goes black pretty much immediately. Its fine. If you check yours now it'll probably already be black. Its when it has become sludge that you have to worry. 2. Your header tank (the black tub on the drivers side that holds the coolant), the black ones break, a lot. Its not too much of an issue, but if you're driving around in hot weather a lot turning it off and on, then you may want to carry around a spare. Preferably the see through yellow ones, they seem to be stronger. 3. Wax the paint dammit. If you're driving through sand, your paint will thank you for it. And 4. Rust protection! Don't just do the engine man, do the underside as well. They like to rust, especially if you take them near water. I seen your side step has succumbed to rust. You don't want your chassis looking like that. Anyway, happy exploring!
Hi Ben! As an avid south african KTM rider, I just want to clarify the shop being closed on Saturdays... Most riders in SA have rides on weekends, therefore the shops actually do not have that much traffic on Saturdays at all! Mondays, is another story...
That would upset me as well dude! Thanks for the reply man! I saw your gf the other day cruising in cape town in her VW, wish I could of met you irl. Have a fantastic week Mr Brown.
Hi Ben, also change the oil from your transferbox / axel diffs frequently. The oil volume is not so much and the temperature are getting quite high in the LT230 transfer case. Nice job by the way. Cheers.
Use the Q20 and spray it on the sticky left overs from the tape and then use a cloth to clean off the sticky stuff , Thea's vlogs are awesome thanks ben ✌🏼️
I don't even car but Ben made it so interesting to watch haha. Glad I kept watching for that epic sunset at the end! Ps. Glad to see Pumba's getting some recovery time!
I just landed back from Cape Town this morning. I have to say, Cape Town is definitely one of my favourite places I've ever been to. A lot better than expected.
Ben, been watching for a coupe of years now... REALLY like the lighter side- It's like you really have nothing to prove and it shows. Very enjoyable the past few vlogs. Cheers from Cali.
after your snowboard trip to the Canadian Rockies you should do a road trip over to the Pacific Northwest in the BC/Washington area!! that place is so dope and i'm not sure if i've seen you make a vlog over at those places.
Awesome vlog Mr. Brown!!! I absolutely enjoyed this vlog. I might have a slight bias since I am a Land Rover fan myself. I just recently purchased the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport.
Since Ben seems to be a gear guy with the camera stuff, I can really see him getting into working on Pumba. Also the motorcycle, which can be a next level of mechanical fun. Hmmm... Ben Brown, the new host of Top Gear in 2019? I'd watch.
Ben, what are you doing/putting in your hair now that it's a little bit longer? Mine is a bit longer than your's currently but I can't get it to go straight back without a ton of products and a hair dryer.
I wanted to tell you to learn how to service Pumba yourself. When you are my age you will know if something hasn't been done. BTW, I always check to make sure the oil really has been changed. It irritates some mechanics, but I've been ripped off before so they can just suck it up. LOL I can no longer do the maintenance on my car, just getting up and down is too painful, so I am glad I learned what things should look like. Oh yeah, get one of those thick manuals on your Pumba, it will be very helpful.
Awesome to see you working on and learning to work on pumba but a warning it never ends as there is always something to do or make better like that drivers side side step that is rusting out at the rear ;) how many kilometres old is that oil meant to be? Top tip if getting a workshop(that you do not trust or new to you) to do your oil changes put a mark/date on oil filter before going in and check the oil+filter before you leave so you know they 1, they put the correct amount of oil in and not under/over filled 2, that they did the oil change at all as you should see cleanish oil on dipstick.
Hey Ben, hope all is well! I was just curious, what was your process for moving to CT? I'm from the states and was thinking about moving there but it looks like getting citizenship is tough. What did you do? if you have a Q&A video answering it, feel free to link it! Thanks dude!
I'm happy seeying more vlogs more often. 😆It's nice that your learning to fix up Pumba yourself with help from your friend Andrea it will be easier on the road. It's the new style having a man bun even my fiancé has the long man bun style. I just let him be himself. 😜
Hey bro, loving what you do! My ex and I did what's called the Landy challenge last year: where a couple buys a Landy, starts travelling around in it, the Landy breaks down a few times and then the relationship breaks down. Or not, depending on the relationship. Ours did unfortunately. And that's why I'm now riding a motorbike solo from Cape Town to Berlin! Hope to bump into you somewhere... I'm in Namibia right now!
When they did that engine repair they should have changed that oil. This is why you should do these things yourself Ben then you know it's done properly.
I used to change oil on cars and trucks for 6 years. We would have people coming back sometimes thinking we did nothing. Because their oil would be black. That's just what happens in most Diesel engines.
I think thats what happens in every diesel engine. From my experience when I change the oil, it is already getting dark after 20km of driving. Its normal
Like I was saying in one of your older videos you should try a landcruiser. You can make them look outstanding and they are incredibly reliable. Never had a problem with mine even after 300k miles. I own 4 and they are the single greatest vehicle on the planet for overland adventures.
Hello from Wandsworth Ben (nearly Surrey)! Hate to do this mate but can I ask you which particular MacBook Pro you're using? I want to a buy a non-touchbar 15" pro for video and want to get it right first time. I figure you went for the 2015 i7 model, SSD blah blah, but I'm stuck on the video card. Do I need to hunt down the one with a separate graphics card, i.e. AMD R9 370x or do the ones with gpu's on the processors cut the mustard? I'm enjoying the blogs immensely by the way. Cheers,
Pumba (AKA Daisy) is just beautiful! please Ben don't get rid of it. The car has so much character, which makes it irreplaceable btw you look like a lad with your hair long.
#BrowniesAgainstManBuns We brownies protest your proposal for a man bun, if action is not taken soon then we will no longer be brownies, but extremely mad brownies.
Ben I have a Range Rover with the same engine (300tdi) Mine cominh Out of repare tomorrow. Hopefully i'll learn something during this weekend vlogs. Also have two range rover with vm engine and my father used to own a defender pickup! Land Rovers are the coolest cars ever made!
Ben's humour and funny side is slowly starting to unfold, and that's great.
I noticed that too in the recent vlogs. I think Ben has been trying to suppress that for a long time for the vlog. just saying...
I agree! and Trevor Leary is correct with his observations.
I used to think that Nicole is crazier than him :)
I agree with this, only been watching him for a couple of weeks and there's definitely a more relaxed, funnier, kind of dry side coming out
True! I also think he's always been very funny at times 😄
How much of this was shot on the iPhone 7? Quality is great! More impressed by the audio tho.
Motonosity nice to see you here!
Motonosity Luv the videos keep up the good work
Motonosity nice too see u here
Motonosity i knew id see you here brent

Cool to see you watch ben brown's vlogs And motonosity do a derbi senda 50 build series if you can get your hands on one in the US
Who else is loving the more frequent uploads?! 🙋🏻
Also, messy-hair, goofy face Ben ❤️
not the frequency that I love, but how Ben is enjoying his freedom from being oblige to do daily. that's more important.
Also, messy hair, goofy face Ben
Matt Baker lol idk why it went through so many times
I haven't watch him in like a year been very busy but before he used to upload everyday!!!
Always love the positivity, good to see Pumba is doing better now. She needed some more special attention from you
Ben Brown is the vlogger I look forward to seeing. Makes my day, and for that I'm eternally grateful.
Nice work Andrea!
what a cool guy helping Ben out!
Traveled 1200 km to help him out. What a guy.
SO awesome to see my brother doing what he loves. Pumba's looking good Ben, keep it up! And welcome to the Landy family!

Love the vlogs bro.
Love the chilled, simple vlogs Ben!
Really enjoying the vlogs lately Ben! It's very interesting seeing you restore Pumba!
what lenses do you used on iphone
Nice job learning your vehicle, It's the most valuable thing you can do if you are going to go trekking with it! I would recommend buying a Haynes Manual for your car, they are basically the bible for car servicing.
i think this is one of the better chill home vlogs you done, super interesting!!!
I actually really loved this vlog. reminds me of good times with friends while we're working hard. plus I loved that you gave us the day counts.

I'm not one for mechanics etc but I really want a defender and you guys made it real fun to watch, man gotta get me one!
Back to back uploads!!!!! ❤❤❤❤♦️♦️♦️
Yeah - lovin' them Vlogs back in CT
Hi Ben! As an avid south african KTM rider, I just want to clarify the shop being closed on Saturdays... Most riders in SA have rides on weekends, therefore the shops actually do not have that much traffic on Saturdays at all! Mondays, is another story...
Ah makes sense! I think I was more angry that their google maps thing said it closed at 5pm but in reality it was 12:30!
That would upset me as well dude! Thanks for the reply man! I saw your gf the other day cruising in cape town in her VW, wish I could of met you irl. Have a fantastic week Mr Brown.
Ben ! loved the last two vlogs, seemed a lot happier mate ! Pls keep up this sorta content 💜👊🏼
Hi Ben, also change the oil from your transferbox / axel diffs frequently. The oil volume is not so much and the temperature are getting quite high in the LT230 transfer case.
Nice job by the way. Cheers.

Get the M5 wagon! V10, practical.. and V10.
Timon and Pumbaa always make for some great content. And, the last few minutes had me laughing so much!
Was that on Kloofstreet at the end?
I don't even car but Ben made it so interesting to watch haha. Glad I kept watching for that epic sunset at the end! Ps. Glad to see Pumba's getting some recovery time!
Love the Pumba/South Africa vlogs, Ben!
I just landed back from Cape Town this morning. I have to say, Cape Town is definitely one of my favourite places I've ever been to. A lot better than expected.

What part of Canada are you going to for the ski trip? Back to lake louise?
Did you replace the alternator?
after your snowboard trip to the Canadian Rockies you should do a road trip over to the Pacific Northwest in the BC/Washington area!! that place is so dope and i'm not sure if i've seen you make a vlog over at those places.
Awesome vlog Mr. Brown!!! I absolutely enjoyed this vlog. I might have a slight bias since I am a Land Rover fan myself. I just recently purchased the 2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport.
I enjoy this sort vlog! Very realistic and relatable to watch.
Since Ben seems to be a gear guy with the camera stuff, I can really see him getting into working on Pumba. Also the motorcycle, which can be a next level of mechanical fun. Hmmm... Ben Brown, the new host of Top Gear in 2019? I'd watch.
Ben, you seem happier now that you're not daily vlogging. That is great to see :)
the final parts of this vlogs are getting so much better! haha :D
Get Andrea to get his own UA-cam channel, I'd love to see more of this kind of stuff.
Best end card ever!! ☺️😊 Your vlogs always make me smile, keep going!!! 🎈👍🏼
I would have loved to see more details of the repair, more in-depth videos of it! Such a fan of old classic vehicle like the defender
Nice video mate! Keep uploading more Pumba stuff!
Ben, what are you doing/putting in your hair now that it's a little bit longer? Mine is a bit longer than your's currently but I can't get it to go straight back without a ton of products and a hair dryer.
Lol the thumbnail should have been you making that face in the last frame. Too good. Loving the goofiness 😂
Andrea what a legend!! Would be rad to have that much knowledge of defenders
haven;t seen your blogs in a while, you look so tan and healthy and happy!! good to see you ben
The best ending ever!! Im dying of laughter!😂
Such a cool vlog! He was awesome. Bring him back!

Ben is the best vlogger on UA-cam. And I ain't just saying it.
good stuff
When are you going on your next expedition!
Did you fix the battery problem!
Hey Ben, hope all is well! I was just curious, what was your process for moving to CT? I'm from the states and was thinking about moving there but it looks like getting citizenship is tough. What did you do? if you have a Q&A video answering it, feel free to link it! Thanks dude!
I am dying at ben's antics with the camera 😂🤣😂🤣
now you know why her Majesty is a legend with repairing her own land rovers!
Yess Ben! You are welcome to the man-bun club :D I waited about 1 year to have a good one haha
2:10 That is the exact tool set that I got for my birthday to build up my own series Landy!!
Love the ending bro. Real gold 😂
Thank you for getting me out of my down phase just for a few minutes today :)
I'm happy seeying more vlogs more often. 😆It's nice that your learning to fix up Pumba yourself with help from your friend Andrea it will be easier on the road. It's the new style having a man bun even my fiancé has the long man bun style. I just let him be himself. 😜
Everyone is so positive in your comment section, that's awesome!
Capetown looks to pretty,
😂 the end card. I'm already subscribed and I've already watched but thanks for the reminder
Not into cars at all ... but thoroughly enjoyed this cruisy car vid - Andrea is a champ!
Hey bro, loving what you do!

I would be so annoyed if the crooked me like that.
They probably did. Diesel engines turn oil black really fast. Pretty normal.

Lets have Andrea on as a regular for all the 110 owners out there, solid mate!
Andrea is a legend!
Andrea such a cool guy. Good luck, Pumba, we want more vlogs with you
'alotta KAK' and 'girlfriends are pretty good value', some great one liners there. hahahaha
Like I was saying in one of your older videos you should try a landcruiser. You can make them look outstanding and they are incredibly reliable. Never had a problem with mine even after 300k miles. I own 4 and they are the single greatest vehicle on the planet for overland adventures.
Favourite vlog ever! Land Rovers!
Great video Ben! I live in a bus I converted into an RV and it's a lot of work too, its definitely a lifestyle choice :-)
Your vlogs are always awesome pure high quality I like them
hi ben, I just wanted to say thanks for your authenticity. seems rare these days
Andrea has a proper Hollywood level smile doesn't he! :)

You have literally made me laugh so much ahaha, loving these videos recently!
Pumba (AKA Daisy) is just beautiful! please Ben don't get rid of it. The car has so much character, which makes it irreplaceable
btw you look like a lad with your hair long.
Loved it Ben! I'm also drone Cape Town!
Pumba will be all sorted out and running like a champ
#BrowniesAgainstManBuns We brownies protest your proposal for a man bun, if action is not taken soon then we will no longer be brownies, but extremely mad brownies.
Youssef Higgins. Worth growing the man bun just to see what extremely mad brownies look like!
I'm so jealous about Pumba :D I definitely wanna own a Land Rover at one point, that would be so awesome!
You are my favorite vlogger.
what year is the pumba?
Ben I have a Range Rover with the same engine (300tdi) Mine cominh Out of repare tomorrow. Hopefully i'll learn something during this weekend vlogs. Also have two range rover with vm engine and my father used to own a defender pickup! Land Rovers are the coolest cars ever made!
ben do you think you will ever come to Rhode Island in the USA
Love the back 2 back vlogs! I am pro man bun
I've got a question
Why did you stop using your old endcard (switching off the lamp)?
I always liked this one
I love the iPhone vlogs, it reminds me of your old vlog style.
Glad you're getting a bit more used to the mechanics - hopefully you'll get to Andrea's point!
