Hi, you may be-able to help me, I have an issue with the standard rear interior light which don’t come on when the door is opened, does the rear light come on with the back doors and the middle with the side door or does both come on which ever door is opened.
    Thanks.

Nice! I’m looking at adding LED spots and running them from the bulb too. Question: when I lock the van (I’m inside) the factory switch as is does not switch on, on any setting? Does your mod allow this? When all central locking locks you can STILL switch on the new lights? Cheers

      Led lights for van. amzn.to/2Bh7RTQ
These are the ones I used. The cable is short but as you see you can cut and join.

I've got the same sort of light as your original in my Scudo, and it's dire as well. I don't have a feadlining, just bare metal. Suppose it would be best to get one long continual LED strip. Thanks for another great video. Please keep them coming!

These lights come wired together (10 of them). I had to cut them so I could spread them out. Cost £19 and are sticky back with a small screw hole to properly secure them. Im glad I done it.
It always feels weird taking apart a New van!!

That's so much better' I done the same with bright led strip lighting all-around ' can't understand why van manufacturers don't do it in the first place.

Its true. They should all be ashamed of how bad they are. I was shocked at what a difference it made.

Cheers m8 iav just got a vw crafter and want to install some 12v leds to the same light as you I thought I would have to cut the 3 wires in the clip but that is so much easier to wire it up to the bulb

Does it matter where you solder on the VW light switch?

    • @HeatingGeek

I soldered across where the bulb was. So it all works the same as the VW light.
