Been looking at how I might do this section - Richmond to Keld and I think I might get hotel in Richmond for 3 nights - Day 1, walk into Richmond, Day 2, leave most of the gear at Richmond hotel, walk to Reeth, use Keld/Richmond circular bus to get back to hotel - Day 3, leave gear in hotel, bus to Reeth, walk to Keld, bus back to Richmond - Day 4, bus to Keld and over to Kirkby Stephens. Cheaper than taxis and 2 days with lightweight bags.
A wise decision not to go over Nine Standards Rigg in bad weather. The bogs are horrible at the best of times, I remember going down up to my calf in one!!
Had I been myself and heading east I may have done it. There's been vast improvements up there recently with a lot of slabbing work apparently, but it wouldn't have been an enjoyable experience. The up side was the drying room at the hostel was fantastic, so managed to dry the tent out properly!
That was a very pretty section along the river. Thanks for the video.
Swaledale was just magical. Really enjoyable couple of days from Richmond

That's a pretty decent idea. You could even have an extra day in Richmond if you wanted to have a rest day
