  • This tutorial looks again at an all-round posy flower arrangement, a wonderful style of an arrangement for the centre of a table or for a low down coffee table.,
    This design uses round shapes to create a domed effect to the arrangement, with equal distribution of the flowers and colours the design forms an all round shape, which can be viewed from all directions.
    If you are new to arranging, take a few minutes to view my Back to Basics series which will explain how to create a simpler version on the all-round posy using a minimal amount of flowers.

    Sharon I’m in the US and I have been binging on your videos! I worked in a shop and now I design weddings and events from my home studio. I’m self thought until I discovered you. I have taken many classes but I’ve learned so much more from you. You are an amazing teacher! I love learning the reasons why we do things. I could go on forever but I just want to thank you.

    I’m a trained florist who hasn’t done anything beyond a table centre for my own house in over two years. I am doing quite a big wedding for a friend on Saturday and I can’t lie - I’m nervous. This video was exactly what I needed. A calm, clear, detailed run through of how to make a simple beautiful table centre. It has boosted my confidence and convinced me I’ve ordered the right flowers! Sometimes it’s just a reminder you need. Thank you.

    Oh dear my house is going to rack and ruin as I spend most of my time watching your fantastic videos. Can I ask if there is any reason why you secure the oasis in with spare foam and tape rather than use a plastic frog?

    • @sharondower
      @sharondower  13 днів тому

      I'm not a great lover of floral frogs because they don't always stay fixed to the bottom of the container. If the container is cold, wet or a little dusty the oasis fix doesn't adhere properly. Then the single block of foam moves around in the container which I don't like. The smaller pieces of foam stop the foam wobbling around and hold it secure when you are working. Does that help and make sense?

    Is there a name for the color harmony you are using? I'm a beginner trying to learn my color theory. It seems you're using the three secondary colors: orange, green, and violet. Would that be triadic color harmony? At first I thought the orange gerberas looked out of place, but they ended up looking very nice.

      Hi Dianne. The Gerbera's is actually a dark pink, I think the lighting and the affect of the other colours is making it look an orangy brown. So technically, it's not really following a proper colour harmony, it was just something I thought worked well together.
