@@lisam9233 what is his book called? I looked in the “about” section, and it only links to PayPal. I don’t even know his name, but I want to try to make pop up books for my niece, so I’m trying to learn.
I commented on this video a year ago, but today I happened to try making the mechanism a couple of times (before I rewatched). It was tricky and I didn't like how mine moved, but now you've pointed out some things that I might try to improve mine. Thanks again for all your videos.
I would like to thank you for the pop up and it looks really cool in person, my booklet wouldn't look like a pop up booklet without your channel, so i really appreciate the video, thx
Thank you very much indeed. . You are very generous. Your explanations are very clear and understandable, esspecially for us French people. I made a lot of progress the past month thanks to you. I was touched to see "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" on your desk. I am 57 and it was a present from my grand mother when I was 10. Now, thanks to you, 1 am preparing a little pop-up book for my little niece who will be 1 year old soon. I try to do it with the same level of passion
Loving "The Little Prince" as much as I do and since this was my first pop-up book, of course I love this! I've been intrigued by this spread from the moment I first saw it. Thanks for dissecting it!
I wish the video was more of a bird's eye view and we had more measurements for the other pieces already cut up. But mine worked eventually after solving some measurement issues
I don't know the pop-up that you're asking about. Which Harry Potter pop-up book is it in? and which page? If I have the book I can try and answer your question.
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Harry potter pop_up book By Andrew Williamson and Lucy kee .. I think it's in a side card about snake 🐍 in spread 5 last page of the book I guess !
Oh I can't tell you how glad I am to see you back here!! Thanks to you I've developed a fascination and love for paper engineering. This mechanism has become one of my most used and favorite ones. Anyway, in my never ending quest for interesting pop ups I came across a similar mechanism ( since you said you weren't quite happy with this one) but I haven't tried it yet. Link-ua-cam.com/video/rSUcCWYNVJo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=JunniSunStudio. It's a little different and a simpler design. If I ever win the lottery, forget the diamonds and the Mazerati, I would fly you out here for paper engineering demonstrations!
Thank you for that link - yes it's a much more satisfactory explanation than I managed! So where are you? I have been known to occassionaly pay my own travel expenses so that I can run a workshop in a beguiling place!
Well, as much as I love the adorable design in the link I sent you it did not translate to a workable mechanism. I ended up using your mechanism ( #74) My mistake was assuming the other poster would test their design before posting it, and I should have gone straight to the tried and true knowledge and experience base of the expert :) I'll know better next time and comb through your tutorials FIRST in order to accomplish a workable mechanism when I see a cute design somewhere.
It's amazing how these master classes are free to watch 😊
His books are also very reasonably priced for the amount of info and techniques they include.

@@lisam9233 thank you so much for your reply. 😀
Right? Love his videos. I also have his book as reference.
Glad to know this channel isn't dead :) Thanks for all the free tutorials!
Thank you for excellent teaching such seemingly complex engineering into a doable technique!

Thank you once again for a fantastic tutorial. Even though you made it look easy, I still had to watch it couple of times to fully understand. 😊
Excellent as always
