All depends the guy might have had 100 1kg bars sitting at home and bought them years ago at a much cheaper price and just wanted to trade a couple for some smaller size gold to offload more easily on a daily basis.
Personally I won't touch either. The IKG is too big and hard to sell if you need to. The tiny fractional bars are poor value due to the high premiums. The 1oz coins or bars are the sweet spot.
You pay a premium when you purchase 1 gram bars and when comes to sell you loose because they pay for the gold not packaging. I think 50g bars are a good ballance
2 crazy extremes. If I had the difficult first world problem I'd go 10 or 20 gram bars. Sadly for me I can only dream of a difficult decision such as this. 😊😊
I really would love to know the reason why this guy has done this. 1800 1g bars is a hell of a lot to store somewhere. You have mentioned 1oz is the sweet spot and I tend to agree. I also thought if SHTF, then 1oz and smaller silver coins would be perfect for small purchases. It is good to hear what other stackers are doing though. 🙂
How dose the swap work did he just give you the kilo bars and u give him the grams what’s the process of this can you swap up your bars instead of swapping down?
a bit of a late comment here but if he bought 1 grammers instead of the 1kg's he wouldve gotten 15% less qty back then the same as now. hes not really losing much.
We do often recommend the 1oz, however some people still believe that is still too large a size for some of the "things hitting the fan" situations and so want even more fractional than that.
Thanks for the nice video again gents 👍 Not that liquidating a kilo of gold is ever a problem I'm going to have, but I would go for a split between ounces, some bars & some fractionals. But we all can dream 🤗
Good discussion. I have done the similar with my gold purchases ... balanced my stack with 1/10oz, 1/4oz, 1/2oz and 1oz coins through to 1oz, 50g and 100g cast bars. Similar theory with Silver. Thanks guy's I enjoyed listening. Good to get different stacking perspective.
Agree with most people here. 1 gram a bit small for me. I’d personally go for several sizes, the smallest being 1/10th, 1/4 mainly 1oz and a few 2oz. Variety is best😅. I understand the want to split up 1 kg bars. I’d love a kg bar or ten.. but while my heart says yes my brain says no. 100g is the biggest I’d buy now unless we see a price drop. At the end of the day I’m sure the fella has good reason for his choice in his situation.
I've been stacking 1ozers, but looking to get some 1/2ozers into the future for a bit, just incase I need a smaller cash out down the line (of course I also have platinum and silver which can accommodate that if needed). I'd only ever get something as big as kilo bars if I came into a lot of money unexpectedly (like a lotto win) and I was planning on holding it for a future big cash out like property or something
Balance is the key word. Some 50grammers, some 1 oz, some sovereigns. Actually I have a rough ratio of 1:2:4. Never bought any above 50gr I am not that wealthy ;)
I'm not gonna lie, I would take 1800x 1 gram individually packaged. Yes it's ~6 ounces of gold less, yet you would still be left with 58 ounces. And would be prepared for any and every scenario.
Having gram bars can certainly work in a purchase or barter situation. Especially if it's a long depression. People are thinking about staying away as much a possible, from the digital currency.
@@melbournestacker haha I was in the same boat, had an iphone 6 up until 18 months ago and when I dropped it in ocean water i figured i'd just upgrade.... the 6 are a tank but ive loved my 11 pro max since i got it. theyre fairly cheap second hand too.
Does anyone know what brand of kilo stacks together. Like literally fits together ?
2 extreme ends of the spectrum.. 1ozer is still the best choice imo
That's what we often end up recommending to most people, absolutely a great way to do it!
About to say the same thing...
Agree with you. Can understand some bigger and smaller. But the mainstay is the 1oz in various forms. 1 gram too small for me
All depends the guy might have had 100 1kg bars sitting at home and bought them years ago at a much cheaper price and just wanted to trade a couple for some smaller size gold to offload more easily on a daily basis.
Was it you that traded them in @Melbourne Stacker

The 1oz coins or bars are the sweet spot.
I buy frictional because that's what I can afford, but if I could buy oz's I would
I'd rather have 70,500 goldbacks than 2 kilo bars

At a 60k ish 'profit' versus the premium costs is small change. I think the 1 onze blocks would be a better swap option if it were me.
Maplegrams are another option.

wish I was in the position to have a couple of 1kg gold bars....one Powerball!!
Interesting discussion. I would be happy with either size 😂👍🏻
Great!😁
how many caeds in a 1g box
They come in boxes of 25 :)
how many 1g bars in a box
25 per box!
2000 x 1oz ers or even 1000x 2 oz ers,as it is the best sweet spot,less premiums!🎉
You should discuss silver vs fractional gold.

Who am I to judge?
I traded in two five gram bars and a 1 gram bar when I purchased a 1 troy ounce bar.
I would have the 2000 one gram because when I need some cash, I don't have to sell all of it 🙃

Crazy! 1 oz would have been much smarter. Screwed himself out of more than 6 oz!

$18000
@@BullionNow And that is WHY you have silver !
@@BullionNow yup. Everyones deal is different. As long as it works for him 👍🏻
Best job in the world
Each to their own I’m sure he had his reasons - either way it’s great to see all that gold 👍
I wonder how one carries out 1800 1 gram Gold bars out of an BN without getting attention
Great video discussion, my gold stack has all sizes 1oz and under except 1/25. This video has got me thinking should i stack up on some more 1gramers.
Wot? He lost 6oz?? He must so loaded that 6oz is inconsequential to him!
The 1/10th may be small, but are still quite valuable.

Lot easier to store the kilo bars though
Premium means nothing to me.
I look at a per final price at check out basis because I'm a dumb dumb

I agree. You'd want different denominations for bartering if that's the intention. Especially when you pay less premium for the heavier pieces.
Your talks are fun and easy to understand you have removed the Black Magic about buying coins and bullion. Thanks for your time and knowledge .
Personally I’d have taken mainly ounce and a small amount of fractional.
Not that I’ll ever have to do it but that’s my opinion.
Yep. Good choice, best of both worlds.
I aint sayin she a gold digga
How many $$$ are on the table?
A few hundred grand at least!

The only gold items i give my neighbours is at Christmas time..and they are Ferrero Rocher’s😂😂😂😂😂😂😂.i keep the fractional stuff for myself..😂😂😂😂
😅😅

Theres method in That Madness , I love the 1 Grammers and the 1/10th In the future I can pay my rates with them
I would take 2000 One Gram Bars any day of the week.
Tentatively awaiting further direction from your end

he should have bought the valcambi 100gr combibar , much less package
2 kilo = 64oz. So I would break it down to...
25 1oz coin
100 1/4oz coin
25 10g Kinebar
250 1g Kinebar
and the rest of it in Goldbacks
I always love the “Epic” massive unboxing of the gold products, especially the Perth mint products. Beautiful shiny cast bars, mmmm Yummy Yummy
Seem to get notifications 30 mins late for vids lately 🤔...Can be disastrous with quick sell outs.
kilo size restricts your buyer market.
Absolutely something to consider, less people have the spare change to drop on a kilo of gold!!
I measure my wealth in WEIGHT & PURITY not PAPER & DIGITS.
😍
All of it 🤤😍
Yay!
You only get 1 gram if you can’t afford bigger size. He should at least go for 20 gram bars. Don’t want to say he’s a Fool, but Yes he’s a fool.
