Two sharp looking boats. That blue and pink combo would be something that sells today.

Good to see you are still on the water I've missed your videos! Had to chuckle when I heard you calling these "old boats" as I paddled my first Eddyline in 1981... now that would be an old boat!

Sweet rides! Love finding an old school gem, not going to be an everyday paddle, but sometimes its about the story.

When Sea Kayaker Magazine tested the Falcon 16, I wanted it so bad! If it were a touch wider and had a skeg, it would be perfect!

Ethan, I didn't realize you were a conasuer of vintage Eddylines. I'm only 61, so I should be able to paddle another 15 years or so. At that time I will "will" you my Eddyline Journey. You should remember it, it's the one I bought from you in 2015.

Great history lesson. Some 25+ years ago I used to paddle a fiberglass Nordkapp around the south of England. Haven't been in a boat since this summer when I borrowed a friend's river Dagger kayak. I wasn't sure of the transition away from Fiber. Now I have a Stratos 12.5 on order coming in the spring. excited. Keep us these great videos, fun to connect virtually.

All five of the kayak hull types I purchased between 1992 to 2002 survived
effects of sunny touring of the Salish Sea or inland use within caves, lakes,
and rivers. Two exist today stuck amid sand for toddler play, one cut in half
became a roadside mailbox, and the others were recycled. I moved on to
piloting my ride under a eight meter inflated marine use kite in Beaufort
Scale winds of #5, #6, and the low side of #7. Using a 13.5 production
fiberglass hull to fly over logs, shoreline, etc. Me? I'm a senior citizen.

The short history of Eddyline evolution was interesting.
It's great to see pristine examples of bygone boats.
    Good stuff guys!

Those were some nice finds. I've only purchased one kayak new. The rest were either online or I made them.
Fast composite touring boats are getting harder to come by and far fewer manufacturers still make them.

Dan, Sir; when editing, you can amplify the audio track for the clips when the narrator furthest from the camera is talking, thus tending to equalise the dialogue audio level across the piece. Keep them coming though. Kind regards.

i'll give you one more reason to go used: you get to try the boat... today i drove from phx to big bear, ca (6 hour drive) to check out a couple used boats (craigslist, fb market and offer up)... and for all of the ones i tried there, i couldn't even fit in the boat comfortably... for those of us that don't live in a place with a good demo fleet, used is the ONLY way to go... all these boats looked good to me on paper (good max capacity, good cockpit size, etc) but i just didn't fit in any of them... some might say i wasted my time cause a boat here in the phx area ended up being the one that worked for me so i shouldn't even have traveled.. but i think the trip was worth it to me to lock in my decision to go with the local boat... if i ordered new, i would have to put 50% down and who knows what i would have gotten... i feel everyone getting their first "serious" kayak should go used (maybe even their second)... first: it creates a great market for the new kayakers out there that have progressed or decided it wasn't the sport for them... second, you get to always try before you buy... third, it gives new life to something that's been in someone's garage for years.. it's all win! i'd love to see more vids on used kayaks... maybe a regular segment where you pick and highlight a used kayak in an area you're in, take it out, review it and give us the info of where and how to buy it...

I've been stuck with the ones available at Dick's in my area, and since the lockdown started earlier this year, they didn't have them, nor Academy Sports. Tractor Supply had some available--Pelican & Lifetime. Kansas City surrounding area. It's sad, but at least I was able to get out on the water a few times. That's what counts for this old YakNana. Thanks for sharing, love your vids Dan!

I was able to pick up a couple Wilderness Tsunami 125's at Scheels in Overland Park last June but they haven't had any since then. Tough to find a quality yak in KC area. Can't even find them on line for delivery unless I am am not finding the right sellers. I would love to get my hands on a couple Eddylines but not any around here.

Interesting video, but you have to fix those sound levels. Using multiple mics while filming or adjusting the sound levels while editing would make this video much more enjoyable to watch.

I know this is a random question, but after seeing many of your videos and expertise on crescent kayaks, i would really love your input. Im trying to decide between a perception pescador pro 120 and a crescent ultra lite. I know its a difference between size. I mainly do 1.5 to 2 miles paddle to get to fishing spots and fish from a sitting position and stand up ocationally to scout the area im in. Is the ultra lite worth loosing stability by giving me easy transportation being that it is lighter and shorter. I know its a tough one , hope you can give me your opinion. Thanks.

What's the proper way to store boats like this? Obviously in a climate controlled area inside from the elements is best practice, but almost impractical for just about everyone. I do have storage in my garage, out of the elements, however there are large temperature swings in there due to our climate here in Massachusetts. As I'm starting to collect a few old boats myself, as well as have some new boats, I have concerns for longevity for my inventory for the long-term. Is it really detrimental to store my boats this way? Out of direct sunlight, out of the elements, on racks in a garage, but not temperature regulated with some wild swings in temps throughout the seasons.

Really like ‘hanging out with you’ Dan! I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again that it sux being on the wrong coast and thus my chances of looking you up or meeting are pretty much nil! This is a great/timely piece for me especially as I just bought a ‘glass Phoenix Isere for $300 (off fb marketplace) - not pristine but very few chips - w/float bags, cockpit bibs. Loving it! All the best my friend!
