Good truck. Good EV. Personal knowledge of this. Hope Ford Company can get the dealerships to stop charging over fees. They are franchises so the only way to get the product to customers at MFP is to adopt the Tesla buying process model and sell online. I think they are working on it.
You can’t tow/haul anything. LOL. People say “Uhhh put a bigger battery in it.” The extra weight just takes away what you can tow/haul. What the hell do you think trucks are used for??? Go ahead and electrify everything, but leave trucks alone.
So towing a fully loaded trailer drops the range by 20%, just like my gas powered 1990 F-150? Yawn. I have 10kw of solar panels on my ranch to make up for rural power shortcomings - this totally changes the math of EVs for me.
@@inkedt5832 Well that's kinda awful. I wonder why it's not linear, or load dependant. Sounds like their gearing ratio is wrong for torque (and i know that's a different concept for DC motors).☹️
@@gtd360 most people don‘t have time to waste hunting a charger and waiting to charge their vehicle, and people that need a pickup have to be places on time.
@@jadesluv Don't really need to "hunt them", the vehicle tells you where they are. Most people just charge at home and rarely need to use fast chargers, unless they are going long distances.
Ford flat out lied about the Ford Lightening. If, and I say “if”, it can power up your house during a power outage. Really? For how long? And another $1000 plus to legally modify your breaker box to switch over to generator or the Ford. California has outages all over the state due to the January 2023 storms and I see no stories of the Ford Lightening powering up houses. EV tech is in its infancy and not dependable or reliable unless used for short distances and in perfectly comfortable temperatures.
Are you kidding me Old Guy??? Do you even have a clue as to how much battery storage that is? 135 Kilowatt hours is a freaking butt load of storage. A Tesla Powerwall is only 13.5 K. Do the math! This thing is almost 10x that. I Don’t think you know what you are talking about. That being said, I won’t be buying one these things until they fix all the bugs and problems I see with them being posted. Time will tell if they can get their act together and make this truck worth it.
I found a Lightning on a lot 2 weeks ago..
They said it can be yours for 100K...15k above list. Shove it even at MSRP
I saw a used one on a Honda lot already for resale in Oklahoma last week!
@8:11 my favorite part of the video
🤣🤣🤣
The end 🤣
Why not mention the 40% price increase from when reservations were placed

Try 50-60%

15 years and mabe il be able to pick them up for $2000. Just use it to power my house. Good chance ill never be able to afford it anyway.
Too bad everyone's returning them because they're a glitchy mess that throws constant errors and doesn't work with most public chargers.
😂 230 miles , the old Dino juice one gets 500+ and that not even with the 32 gallon tank
Most people only travel about 25-40 miles a day.
But it also costs 10% the price to fill up so it’s just use case dependent

Don’t turn the AC on or you can only go to the corner store
And don‘t forget to mention freezing temps

Not really an "if", people have already done it. But it will only run a house for a few days (7-9 days if you ration power).

What’s with the short range? FF put a bigger battery in the thing and just maybe I’ll buy one
