Hi there! These are beautiful! I ordered 8mm flat back pearls and they are way smaller than the 8mm cabochon that you used. S there a difference between the two? Thanks!
I love these earrings!! I have found a 9mm cab and was wondering if this will work, or would the seed bead counts have to be changed?? I would love to make these. Thanks!
This is so cool. I was wondering, what size beads would I use, if I wanted to do this to a 40mm piece of glass, shaped like a diamond? I'd like to take the glass and make a beaded setting for it, just like this and connect it to a pendant,
LarkaStark I never tried other shapes even if I intended to. In my opinion you don't need to change the beads size, you just repeat the same steps until you have the desired length. You will have to do some adjustments though, to make it diamond shaped from round. Hope that helps :)
Sparkleyourway Well my dear, I've just now got to learning this technique of yours. I didn't have a flat back cabachon, but found some of those glass pebbles - about 18cm round, but thick, about 10cm thick. I had to veer off - and keep going to encompass the glass fully (it was a yellow ab color) and I used red bicones - it became more like a basket to hold the glass, and when I pulled the bicones together - SHEESH!!! it looks like an eye (I could not add the extra seed beads here). This looks really awesome, rich and ornate - not too heavy either...and I think that pebble glass is pretty cheap too! Score! My husband is also impressed. I have only been beading a few months and can't believe I did this! Thank you. Roberta
LarkaStark Wow! That's great news! I'm really happy that my technique worked for you! And good job adjusting the pattern to the size of your cabochon! I would really love to see the finished project .. do you mind sharing it on my Facebook page?
+Nereida Vazquez Hi, Nereida! Sorry for the delay. I bought the cabs from Beadaholique years ago. They might still have them. Otherwise, you can use chatons and skip the post part... I hope that helps

This is probably the fastest way to bezel a small 8mm. Very clever and easy. I made a pair of earrings for me in no time. Thanks for sharing!

Glad to hear that! Thank you!
Enjoyed your video and have just purchased your tutorial. Looks to be very well written and I'm sure I can make these earrings without any problems.

Hi, maybe you will need to make less rows so that the embelishment fits your pearl perfectly 🙂
Those are very pretty earrings! Thanks for the tutorial!
I'm glad you like them, Feyna! Thank you!

You can try making an extra row with seed beads before "capturing" the cabochon
