11:04 or when you’re in the back row going backwards through the inverted top hat, and you stop for a few seconds before getting a rollback. Yes, that actually happened to me
Personally, I actually really like Ninja. It was a complete surprise. It was decently intense and across my 2 rides, I only banged my head one time. It was running so smooth.
@@CanobieCoaster I was there on June 23rd and July 6th, so I barely missed you both times. Also, I’ve been riding American Thunder since 2014, and 2020 was the slowest I’ve ever seen it run. It was running much faster in 2019
The boss’ mid course used to do very little to the pacing of the ride. Unfortunately about 2 years ago they had to slow it down because they removed the double helix.
I imagine those final bunny hills would be insane without the slowdown because they're still quite wild. But the second half feels slow until that point.
@@CanobieCoaster yeah it disappoints me that it was slowed down. It, however, still has a killer night ride. If they get gci to retrack it, it would most likely be in my top 10.
@@CanobieCoaster oh man. A night ride on the boss might just bring it up on your list. Personally, I prefer a good night ride on the boss over a mr freeze ride any day.
Shocked you have Thunderration so low. Really looking forward to Outlaw Run which will be RMC #12 for me. I have 5 credits thus far (3 credits from SFSL that I got years ago and the 2 alpine coaster in Branson). I will be going to Missouri for work in August and I should be able to visit Silver Dollar City and either Worlds of Fun or Six Flags St. Louis. Should I goto WOF or SFSL is the question? I need Boss, Batman, The boomerang, Mr Freeze, American Thunder, and Pandemonium. I did ride Mr Freeze at SFOT. I would be visiting WOF or SFSL on a Saturday and SDC on a Sunday. I'm kind of leaning SFSL. Any advice?
I appreciate this list, and think that it was well ordered for the most part, but putting powder keg ahead of Batman and especially Mr. Freeze blew my mind. I like powder keg, but it's got nothing on those two coasters. I wouldn't even put it ahead of Wildfire.
I was thinking of taking a trip across Missouri starting in St. Louis to visit Six Flags St. Louis then travel across the state to Kansas City for World's of Fun and the nearby Great Wolf Lodge (maybe Schlitterbahn as well if it ever reopens). After that, I was thinking of heading to Branson on the way back for Silver Dollar City and White Water Branson (and to stay at that Big Cedar Lodge outside the city). However I might also have to do just Branson on a separate trip because my father would love Branson but has no interest in the rest of the state. What else is there to do in Branson besides Silver Dollar City and White Water Branson? As for the coasters there, I always say that Boomerang and Ninja at Six Flags St. Louis need to switch to the new vest restraints and then you've got a perfectly smooth ride. I'am personally waiting for a big addition to Six Flags St. Louis before considering to go down there like an RMC conversion of the Boss. I really think that would be the perfect coaster to get that renovation next. It's also unfortunate the Ozark Wildcat from the former Celebration City in Branson was never saved. That looked like a great coaster and could've easily have been a great addition if they had relocated it to Silver Dollar City. You should also so this ranking with more states such as Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Florida, California. Texas, Minnesota, Indiana, Georgia,... I think you get the point.
Six Flags St. Louis has the fit in the park and right capacity for a Raptor. I'm hoping they get one in the coming years. Branson has Bigfoot Fun Park, which is home to one of those crazy Soaring Eagle drop tower/saddle swings. And Fritz Adventure in Branson is a cool climbing/adventure complex, but I chose to skip it this visit since I've been avoiding indoor places due to the pandemic.
About to start Day 2 at SDC! Me and my wife actually both agree that Powder Keg is our favorite ride in the park 🤷♂️🤣. We are as surprised about it as you probably are reading this! But, here’s why...Outlaw Run’s restraints absolutely crush me by the end of the ride. If not for that, it would easily be number 1 (Best night ride of my life even with the fact that my twig and berries felt like they were in danger of popping off) and Time Traveller has so far been 50/50 on whether you get one of the greatest rides you’ve ever been on or if it’s just meh. If you wind up facing backwards for most of the ride on Time Traveller, it’s just nowhere near as good as forward, sideways or a ride with heavy spinning
I’m going to miss fire in the hole, leaving in 2024. It’s still a good ol’ classic throwback. I am going to miss it and classic SDC fans will miss it. FIRE IN THE HOLE!
Come on now, you know that Ninja should've been # 1. I have to agree with you, River King Mine Train > Thunderation. With American Thunder, I've had rides where the airtime delivered, and some where it didn't. Even a Prowler fanboy like myself will admit that Prowler's airtime doesn't always deliver, but it has on most of my visits there, so I rank it based on that. But Outlaw Run is one of the best wooden coasters, and maybe the most complete wooden coaster in the country. But I hated all 4 rides I've had on the Boss, even the night rides were too rough to enjoy any of it. 10. Wildfire 9. Timber Wolf 8. Screamin Eagle 7. Patriot 6. American Thunder 5. Powder Keg 4. Time Traveler 3. Mr Freeze Reverse Blast 2. Prowler 1. Outlaw Run
Sounds like I've never gotten one of the good rides on American Thunder then. I'll have to keep trying! I really need to get a night ride on Prowler sometime since that may help move it up for me.
I intend to do New Jersey. I probably will hold off on New York until I can reride some of the coasters in northern New York. I haven't been on the ones at Seabreeze, Fantasy Island, or most of the ones at Darien Lake in over a decade.
No offense taken! Some kiddie coasters are quite accommodating to adults and it makes sense a parent may have to take a young kid on the ride. But others are quite uncomfortable.
"Running fast, running slow".... lmao, yeah I hate when they turn down the speed dial. Lucky you went there before though when they used to make the coaster Run faster. (Sarcasm 101 for the laymen) Do you understand the speed differential in roller coasters is negligible solely on the laws of physics, but also in order to have roller coasters approved by the particular Occupational & Safety Hazards, it is NOT legal to have a speed differential in excess of .01% of the difference in speed with a train at weight compacity and a train with Zero guest compavity..... I know people love to talk about the difference in rides at certain times, but it simply is placebo..... specifically with chain lift coasters, we have this thing in America called "gravity". And this gravity thing is not a variable force. The force of this gravity thing is the same in 2009 and in 2017. Because of this, a train also has a small differential in what safe G forces due to speed and simply being unable to complete the course have differences of. And finally, every single r coaster in the US must register the height, length, etc etc etc of each coaster within that particular jurisdiction. Well one of those "etc" I just wrote is speed. That is correct, they also must register a coasters speed, and that differential cannot exceed normal loading, and weather conditions. Basically you do not ever ride a coaster and have a noticeable difference in speed. The only time you would ever get that would be on a ride likes a Superman at Six Flags Magic Mountain, when Magic Mountain is maybe not running the train at their speed compositi as listed. And then at the beginning of a certain season they decide to run at that capacity. That could happen. However tht does not work for 99% of coasters out there because if they are never running the coaster at a much lower speed, EVER, the coaster Simply would be unable to compete the circuit. Something only a few coasters cam actually do. Short story long, no offense to you, because I've heard thousands of people say it, but in reality what's felt is Placebo, or possibly a slightly less "bumpy" ride which made you think you were traveling faster or slower. But pretty much every time, you experienced a phenomenon of the human brain.
And I'm sorry to correct you, because your channel is doing good. I thunk you're a good kid and I'm liking tyre way you're handling it..... just some helpful advice
I agree rides have to stay within programmed limits and acceptable G force levels, but I've been on rides that can run a lot slower based on weather conditions (ex. Nitro at Great Adventure on a cold, windy day versus a summer day).
I think outlaw run may be one of the most overrated coasters in the country… Due to the roughness and short layout, it really makes it one of the worst RMC’s unfortunately.
@@drewstarkey181 Yes but it’s the combination of both roughness and a short layout on Outlaw Run… wood coasters are usually rough but the thing good about em is that they are also usually a long ride, since this coaster fails in both departments, I think it makes it a weaker RMC, but that is still a really good coaster relatively speaking…
