Had some luck with old German marbles lately. I am 62 and played marbles as a kid.Even though my major is insulators and bottles ,I love glass and marbles have a great and ancient history. Thanks for your great videos and being a humanitarian !

I bet you can. Every place I have gone.....up to 1970's trash I have found marbles. From like 1930's trash to 1970.
It is there around you someplace. Ask around. Hunters and fishermen wil remember seeing glass bottles in the woods and on the rivers....state road workers who work along roads with heavy machinery....good to ask too. They will have seen some dumps.
That was a good idea, the All Cat Eye frame---and that glowing one, it's just amazing. It must be hard to go back to "slow" days after finding a spot like this one was. I remember watching my older brothers shaving, back in the 60s, with razors just like those. Brings back some good old days memories for sure.
That’s just awesome…! In my opinion, I think marbles got thrown away with all the other toys, obviously you find so many, they have to be thrown away. Then you have the random marble, usually damaged, shot out of a sling shot, to break glass bottles and crocks…..😊✌️

That is a beautiful frame marbles from the hoard. The one that glows is a nice surprise. It will be nice to see what else you can find on that hill. Whoever threw out all of those marbles was in a "Pitching Fit". Who knows what they were throwing out?
Not a lot of Marble King cateyes from that era floresce but see more in yellow base but have seen occur every once in a while in all the other major colors. Great group find...nice shape. Kid's dad must have worked at plant :-)....or mom caight him playing for keeps and tossed!

how do you suppose marbles end up in dumps? i find them all the time while digging, i know back in the day kids would go to dumps with sling shots and break glass because i dug a real rare milk quart and it had a perfect hole in it and the marble was still inside
they were so cheap. Just think of how many got sucked up in sweepers on 1960's shag carpet.
@@rockscousteau i also find them in rivers and streams among broken glass in which they would throw the bottles in the water and shoot at them while they are floating

We, your fans and followers, don't want you getting stuck in a collapsed hole trying to dig out marbles, OK? We don't want you getting hurt either. Please be careful in those holes, sir. Digging for collectible marbles isn't worth getting stuck and/or hurt while you do it. I'm sure your family wouldn't want that to happen, either. Take care and BE VERY CAREFUL, sir!!!! Be safe!!!
