I was wondering if you are working on a iPadOS for beginners. I know it seems dumb but I just recently got a iPad Air 4th gen & I’d like to see a newer guide. The last iOS device I used was the 2nd gen iPad mini. Also love the videos & quality is amazing!! I was also wondering if you planned to do a update on the accessories portion maybe looking at ultra budget accessories if possible. Much love from the south

I actually prefer the Logitech keyboard case over the Apple magic keyboard. The Logitech keyboard case has a huge advantage, it’s actually a case; it covers the sides and holds the iPad like an actual case, whereas the Apple magic keyboard just sticks to the back, relying completely on magnetics.

    • @mjpt57

I was in a similar situation - by the Logitech or the Apple keyboards. Went with the Apple as it has a power connector which powers the iPad. This allows me to connect a hub to the iPad to run my camera tether cable, an SSD and SD card reader as well as a HDMI out to the monitor when taking photos and viewing them via an app called Cascable. Can't do all that with the Logitech unless you can break to recharge the ipad in between shoots.

    • @JOd-mx5wd
      @JOd-mx5wd Рік тому +2

And that power connector will scratch the port same with Apple Pencil 2 being scratched and scratching the side of the iPad. So annoying…

Nice review, 👌🏻😃. But to myself, my 12.9” iPad Pro was never meant to be a laptop replacement, I would think that it would be a miss leading to complement the iPad with a bunch of accessories just to replace the macbook, not only full of hassle while still not replacing 100% but also end up waste of money, it will cost more than just buy an MacbookPro which would definitely gives me full function of a laptop. Laptop is for desk working position while a tablet is use on stand or walk position such as roaming around project site, and I use it as a pen and paper, bring project drawings, make scribble and note as I found something on site. Back on the project office kit I continue the notes and have further work on my 12” macbook. So every form factor of a computer has it’s own part of a workflow… IMHO 🙏🏻😁

Would you consider doing a video on “replacement cycle” ? I’m finding your videos extremely helpful - because my 2015 Macbook pro will be replaced as soon as the new one (M1 with more ports) is available. But…I also have an iPhone XS and an IPad Pro. Would love to hear your thoughts about whether to “syncronize” the model years of all products, or purposely keep them staggered, and the maximum time you would keep each one…(for those of us who don’t want to buy new versions each time they are introduced…obviously you are not doing that…but I bet you have helpful thoughts on what you would do if you were not reviewing new products..

Get them all at once! Try NOT to stagger iPad and MacBook or Mini or iMac. You can stagger replacing the Phone as often as you like without losing any functionality to a degree, but even that is best purchased within a year or two of the other devices.
The reason for this (I learned the hard way) is your devices start to outpace each other with software and features.
So by the time certain features appeared, only my newer devices could use them, so I had an iPad that didn’t allow sidecar and i got support dropped on my model by just one update, and I had an iphone that was so new that my old MacBook OS was outdated and couldn’t back it up because I was still using iTunes! So I had a great ecosystem from Apple that no longer functioned together with all the advertised features.
So you are in the best position financially if you get a MacBook or IMac or Mini first with upgrades to future proof them, you CAN wait a year or so to get an iPad, and you can get a phone as when you need to if you have to stagger it for financial reasons.
But I had the absolute best experience when I just bought my devices all at once or within a year or so of one another, because then they all are compatible and all the features advertised actually are available across your ecosystem.
It doesn’t feel good when a device gets its last update or doesn’t receive a certain feature and becomes a paperweight, and you still have other devices you got a year later that are still receiving updates, because the devices that get left behind usually aren’t worth reselling or trading in at that point either.
So get the devices all at once or as close together as possible. You can keep the Computer until it loses support, get a new iPad when the battery starts to go, and replace the phone when the OS starts to lag or the battery starts to go. But try to get the whole product ecosystem as close together as possible and try not to replace any of them until you absolutely have to. By then if you replace anything there will be incompatibility between your new device and your old ecosystem.
So EITHER buy the base models of every device except your computer if you are going to keep things shorter durations and trade in or sell your devices more frequently to get the next upgrade,
OR buy the best spec bumped upgrades you can afford if you keep your devices as long as they work. Really those are the two smartest upgrade cycles.
People who buy all base models and just constantly cycle through upgrades or people who get the best upgrade they can afford and keep really spec bumped models as long as possible until they stop working or lose support.
Just make sure the laptop or desktop gets the most upgraded memory and storage you can afford because you will have that with a useful lifespan for the longest period of time.
iPad batteries will die no matter how well upgraded it was when you bought it (I learned the hard way no matter how beautiful and useful they are they will charge you more than the machine is worth for a battery at a certain point), and your phone will get slow and full, and you can’t use external storage for those devices so eventually app updates and OS updates eat up all your storage, but you can keep a Mini or IMac going for 8-10 years because there is no battery to fail.
So Desktop or laptop is your best long term investment and they also hold value the best, so upgrade that as much as you can initially with that in mind.
So treat the computer as a hub for all the other devices, because once you get a good computer all the rest can come and go as you decide to upgrade if you chose to upgrade more often, but that computer needs to be there when other devices eventually fail.

Small warning: the satechi mobile hub hdmi port is NOT compatible with the ipad 2021 m1. Read the amazon description! So, do use the ipad m1 without those accessories… (quote: “iPad models from 2017 or earlier are not supported. HDMI port is not compatible with 2021 iPad Pro M1”). This is not mentioned with the stand-version, but it makes me wonder…

It's worth mentioning if you're buying the Meze 99, the cable that comes with the Meze 99 Noir on Drop comes with an inline microphone, and it's compatible with the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm dongle since the dongle has an ADC (analog-to-digital converter) for the mic in addition to the DAC. It's also $100 cheaper than the 99 Classic.

If you like using the magic keyboard, take a very long hard look at the case from UAG Scout. You can keep the ipad keyboard on the ipad with this case and just open it as you normally would with the magic keyboard - and more, provides complete drop protection for the ipad. It's a very clever design.

I love that the magic keyboard looks so nice and allows the beauty of the tablet to stand out. However, you get more bang for your buck with the Logitech. IMO

Thanks for recommending the protective case at 9:00. I carry my iPad pro 12.9 with the Logitech combo touch in my messanger bag but still don't feel it's protected enough. I'll for sure be picking this up!

Your video is great, but do you have an accessory to protect the pencil in something like a sleeve with the same idea of having the Logitech \ Magic Keyboard case around the iPad Pro?

Hi, I’ve been watching your videos and already subscribed, you provide very good content, congrats! Could you make a video showing the options out there to run Office apps in an iPad Pro 11” 2021. I believe it would outstanding if you can cover how to do essential task (word/excel/ppt) in an iPad consider both cost and productivity. Thank you! Stay good

I wonder if you still own the M1 MBP?
If so, can you please share your thoughts about how it's like, with all the rumors and upcoming Macs, now in this current time?
I know I know, it's being asked a lot... But it's going to be my first MacBook/laptop/Apple product 🤣
I'm being patient and waiting for over three months now, want to move on from my slow ass i5 desktop already 😒, although it served me for a while.
