Hey friends, thanks for the kind words about my run! Gotta be real, I love this game a lot, despite its flaws, so I'm so glad to have been able to show it off. Even though, with all the new strats, it just moves SO FAST, so I can barely explain anything. Maybe I'll get 225 in some year~ or Zork Nemesis!!
You never finished your story about the plant and the game being really aggressive about impossible to complete situations (from around the 6:00 timestamp). I'm really curious what that's all about, but I couldn't find anything to help me out online.
@@aidennwitz I got Return to Zork when it was new and I didn't enjoy it. It felt very random and slopped together. It didn't hold a candle to Myst which came out the same year.
I have incredibly fond memories of this game. I was stuck at it for months before my parents got me the strategy guide. I really just needed, like, ONE hint and everything else fell into place. I think it was the stupid "LUD" inscription that made no sense to me.
I remember playing this when it first came out. Parts that stick in my mind are "Want some rye? Course you do" and being repeatedly murdered by everything.
Huzzah!!! I remember the days long ago when this game stumped the heck out of me. So awesome to see it utterly destroyed ;D Want some rye? 'Course ya do!
This was fun to watch. I have lots of fond memories of playing the graphical Zork games. Return to Zork isn't exactly _good_ (and that bonding plant is BS), but it has plenty of memorable moments. Plus it came with the Encyclopedia Frobozzica, this awesome little book of ridiculous made-up facts about the Great Underground Empire. But Zork: Grand Inquisitor was the best graphical Zork. That was one of my all-time favorite point-and-click adventure games, up there with Legend of Kyrandia 3.
I love point-and-click games but I never heard of this one. Seems kinda... interesting? But also pretty weird and illogical. Then again that was a thing for a lot of these games then. Thanks for the showcase; I really enjoyed it. I'll go check out a 100% run of this game as well or... maybe even better try find it and play it myself first, hehe.
OriginalPiMan zork nemesis is surprisingly serious for a zork game, but I loved it. (Though the guillotine puzzle May be the funniest thing they’ve done)

this run is inspiring me to run riven!!!!! awesome job!!!!!
You did one heck of a job playing AND entertaining, that is harder then it seems. Well done!

@@awryawree i loved riven.
I *love* watching your runs. You're so entertaining and inspiring! If you can get more FMV games into GDQ, that would be amazing
"We route out all the jokes"
So what you're saying is, there needs to be a Return to Zork Joke% run at a GDQ
That was a really fun run!
There's a certain retro charm to the old point and click adventure games that you don't get anywhere else, so I'm happy to see this.
Why i am glad they remastered grim fandango to give people who never played or heard a chance
I love that people run these games. Awful block is always my favorite at GDQ. Great runner and couch

There was actually a game ran in 2015 named "Town with no name" which WAS point and click and ALSO just as bad.
"Just as bad"? Return to Zork got rave reviews when it came out and has been regularly placed on many best games lists.

Great run! This game was way cooler than I thought it would be, especially for a '93 point-and-click :^)
The graphics in this game blew me away 25 years ago. Such nostalgia.
One of the best games of all time.

Not sure what I liked more, the silliness of an old early 90's game I never knew about or the comments section on this video.
I remember playing this when it first came out. Parts that stick in my mind are "Want some rye? Course you do" and being repeatedly murdered by everything.
I want to find out all the deep lore about Boos.
Priestess gives important plot point
Lizstar: "Don't care" *click*
...I laughed so hard
I love these old FMV point and click games. Very entertaining run.
Great run, couch and commentary. Make this a regular thing.
I've only ever played the text version of Zork. It was ridiculously hard
wow, return to zork?! my childhood!
I remember playing that back when it was first released! Want some runs? Course ya do!
Here's to us!
what an awesome gem
This was fantastic.
Where was the bonding plant in the beginning???
"Just google The Knight's Dilemma!"
Want some rye? Course ya do. Want some rye? Course ya do. Want some rye? Course ya do.
It's funny that his expectation is you want the rye but he's the one that ends up so drunk he falls off the chair
Yay Nikasaur! Always missed her after the Summoner's Showcase died.
but in light of some news about the working conditions on riot games I'm not surprised at all that she left
NOSTALGIA!!!!
Zork Any% doesn't disappoint.
Huzzah!!! I remember the days long ago when this game stumped the heck out of me. So awesome to see it utterly destroyed ;D Want some rye? 'Course ya do!
Loved this game
This is fucking awesome.

Is that the same Nikasaur from LOL Community Spotlight?
Yeah
Is this the same Nikasuar? Formerly associated with League?
What a lovely game.
Want some rye? 'Course ya do. Here's ta us!
Is Grand Inquisitor in the works?
Want some Zorks? Course you do
The best run
I love point-and-click games but I never heard of this one.

Want some rye?
Course ya do!
This is more distinct from Zork Nemesis than I expected. The acting is about the same though.
OriginalPiMan zork nemesis is surprisingly serious for a zork game, but I loved it. (Though the guillotine puzzle May be the funniest thing they’ve done)
Nemesis is so incredibly Macabre and nothing like any of the other entries in the series. Still a challenging game.
D'ya want some RYE?!....
Moon logic the game :D
OMG it's the Ristar Queen herself!!
Want some rye? Course ya do!
