The meta for Duel Links is in an interesting spot, where it feels powerful, yet isn't all that exciting. Mekk Knights, Infernoid, Gouki, Salamangreat, and others are headlining - all strong decks in their own right and own way. But that does not stop me from being completely polarized by this meta. Let me know in the comments what you guys think, I hope this is another good video for a discussion on the meta!

They really need to bring more supports for older decks to balance the surge of good new archetypes. We all know link based archetypes better than old ass decks. In order to make the meta more diverse and for the old decks to compete, they really need to release some of them in the limit list and release their respective supports. Even Karakuri can't compete with new link decks and they somehow forget to release them from the limit list. Giving us more tools to deal with backrows and monsters negate such twin twisters and imperm. Please adjust the current skills that can't make players respond to such as odd eyes and DDD, one more thing for the love of god please adjust the current Galaxy XYZ skill and release new supports for them so they could change their playstyle and undependable only on the skill to make a play.

@@darkknight7151 galaxy needs a some sort of limit so they can't run 3 galaxy revives, 3 shuffle reborn and a monster reborn. Good thing is this leaves them with a mediocre going 1st field. And I always always make it a point to just sit there after they know they just got destroyed turn 2, and taunt them. Anybody who runs galaxy just doesn't know how to play anything else. That an infernity players being the biggest babies in all of duel links. I swear if you go 1st against them they just quit. Where's the fun in having a deck that basically loses 50% of the time.
@@InfernalJackal practically what you saying the problem coming from the skill it selves. IMO They need to rework that skill and bring to the table new supports like galaxy soldier for the deck. It's just like why the need for playing with other photons strat ( trasher~vanisher~ ss starliege~ search GEPD) when the skill itselves just being brutally op, free foolish burial in addition to the xyz climbing from just a piece of GEPD. If the skill gets reworked then all the other bunch of spells like reborn will be useless for them. Don't get me wrong I don't mind if they release the photon lord in the upcoming box after the skill free foolish burial and effortless overlay with just a piece of GEPD gets reworked. For me infernity, it seems op with 4 launchers ( I don't like it either) but it is kinda fair right now as they always lose on 2nd turn.
I personally find the mekk-knights matchup really skill intensive, since you need to play around columns and use your mst at the right time to break those columns. Now that surprise present has been nerfed they cannot set-up columns by themselves unless they open iblee thus making them bricky and being able to win/lose against any deck under the right/wrong circumstances.
On top this no deck really unfair to play against so you can have fun on ladder with whatever deck you like

The noobs complain about decks but 90% of the time there's a counter you just gotta tek those cards or play a deck that counters it. Easy

Idk how to feel about the Meta either, on one hand I love it currently seeing all these Archetypes getting a chance to shine is awesome, Especially since some of these Archetypes in DL never saw competitive play. On the other hand like you said it's almost like the Magnet Warrior meta a few years ago And I think that's because how these last few banlist have been working.

Yeah the power creep has been insane, and I'm starting to miss a lot of older decks because of it. I think I have to wait for Auster and Full Armor Master for a Blackwing KoG lol

I was surprisingly enjoying Metalfoes a lot earlier, and the highlight was ending a 15 win streak of a Grit Infernoid, and they did not brick either, resolving Feast, making the right call of putting everything they ss in atk position and putting Onuncu instead of brainless Devyati as the Infernoid to copy from the GY. Mekk Knights seem to be less oppressive than Salads, I still hate facing the latter tho coz they take hours to build their board. My insta surrender tho are Infernity not Infernoid (funny how they both have infern in their name, infernal archetypes they are) that did not brick in their 1st turn.
Link summon kinda shook the things around here. But tbh I cannot see any way it would not be, things evolve
Everything below Tier 1 in this meta is fine ig? Infernoid, DDD and Salad actually aren’t horrible to play against or with (as much as I hate one sided needle ceiling from salad) and Goukis depend on if they brick or not. Trickstars, Code Talkers, even Magical Muskets to an extent can take on the meta in a reasonably fair way, but yeah. It’s Mekk Knights that hurt the meta tbh. Secret, in tandem with the decks insane swarming potential, especially with the frisbee (indigo), just devastates so many decks to the point of being unfun. I am absolutely for the banning of secret
I've been running a 30 card deck with BA and phantom knights which is really fun. Glad to see someone else enjoying the BA's.
Just out of curiosity, I don't see anyone talking about it, but where would you say meklords stand against the current meta. It's one of my favorite decks, and with the un-limit of assembly, it can a lot more limit 3 staples.
The deck is actually not that bad. I tried playing with it and the deck pops off if you are able to resolve obbligato's effect so i suggest playing mst and lance to make that happen as much as possible. Unfortunately it's kinda slow because you need to rely on backrow if you get interrupted and the deck is really expensive as well
Lol honestly the fact that ddd is still meta is so funny to me, the deck had two NUKE banlists and is still kinda nuts lmao

BA is my favorite deck of all time in Duel Links besides Darklords, and it can compete heavily with the current meta, but of course, turn 1 Abyss Dweller can shut the deck for good unfortunately.
Also, i think it's time for the eagle 🦅 to say his thoughts about how bad the recent structure decks are! If we compare the dragunity one for example with the recent imperial knights, i think that there is a wide gap in terms of power and the value of what u get from each structure deck.
Another BA Enthusiast let's gooo. Yeah, Dweller can be instant scoop, I jokingly use to say limit it to 2 lol.

Nice video Ghost. From an old Fan. also I hated Galaxy Eyes in the past.. but now when I have the deck myself.. I enjoy it anyways have a good one
I'm just going to play cubics. It's not that good but I like the archetype and it is quite fun to play.
Also, it is hella cheap and I finally have Aigami at level 40.

Since i run a frail f2p mekk knight deck and i cant choose between iblee or swap cleric or rescue rabbit im just running goukis this month cause hey, i have the deck complete, might as well use it

I just got into duel links 2 weeks ago. I'm using red dragon archfiend assault mode activate which is quite fun in these early stages.
I'm at 4k gems and kinda have my eyes on a few decks but obviously I don't know if they are going to be able to keep up with the meta. I'm afraid to invest in a deck that isn't going to hold its weight with the top tier if I were ever to dip into the pvp scene.
The 2 decks I want to build are U.A and shiranui.
I have majority of the pieces for u.a but I'm missing 1 u.a powered Jersey and 2 u.a signing deals and 3 marrellas. The power jersey and signing deal are in eternal stream which are 500 gems for 10 packs and I know my luck is garbage so it will cost more than 500 to pull out the specific cards I want. Not sure what box marrella is in but i know it was 250 gems and isn't rare with like 9 in box.
Whereas the shiranui was the first I set my eyes on. I ripped packs like crazy from soul resurrection box. But eventually stumbled onto the king of resonance and seen I had some pieces from the mini box and decided to buy duplicates of the structure deck to build my very first deck which has carried me up to this point.
I know they aren't meta but they seem rather fun and affordable whereas the decks your listing are OP and expensive and I don't think I can afford them.
u.a or shiranui? I'm torn between the 2. Or cut it and run while I still have 4k gems?
Shiranui if you plan on getting all the expensive traps. It’s so fun

What traps are you suggesting? I'm running x2 sealing ceremony of katon, x2 raigeki break, x2 outwit nitwit and needlebug nest.
As for spells I've got 1 of each: zombie power struggle, riryoku, book of life, ghost meets girl, and dragon mirror (dragonecro nethersoul dragon)

Grass is banned, but infernoids are pretty meta and you can easily climb with them
New decks in a nutshell: do 50+ combos just to summon 1 monster to target enemy's card(s) only to then sacrifice it & repeat the whole process until your enemy has no more cards left, only to finally then one shot their opponents. Yes very fun Konami.
I do indeed enjoy having to wait ages only to then get one shotted. Like wtf would u make OP combos where ppl just get one shotted in a turn??! That's not even a game anymore

I dunno man, Boot-Up Gadget is really fire right now. Its seen so much success that nobody's submitted a deck for it out of fear alone.

Nah I personally think gouki with finishing move is a problem, it may not seem like much on the surface but they force you to to go defensive if you go 1st because they easily otk you next turn if you leave something in attack position but wait there is more; finishing move allows the link monster to do piercing damage, so even if you play defensive they otk you, not to mention they can play a lot of staples since all their combos are 2 card combos for the most part.
Just pay a good deck with 1 interruption. Obviously if you set pass Axe Raider on the 1st turn you're getting otk'ed
Goukis don’t have a lot of ways to play past interruptions. All you have to do is stop them from making one attack lol
Yeah I understand what you may be saying but that goes for like 99% of decks; just interrupt them at their chokepoint but as I said they play staples like 3x mst 3x book of moon so unless you open 2 or more backrow or have both a monster with a disruptive quick effect and a backrow you ain’t surviving. I don’t mind gouki it’s the finishing move spell that feels like you are getting sacked everything you face gouki. If you use your resources to take down their master ogre and you have no resources left to defend yourself the great ogre comes and punches you for game.
My favorite archetype is Destiny hero, really a shame I am locked to my one copy of the structure deck, (just go play master duel I guess) I love master duel, oh wait, everyone used d hero dpe and oh no, my new support fusion card is at one, and celestial is banned, thanks everyone. - pure destiny hero player

I don't like Infernoid at all, his game is basically turning the trap up and winning the duel. There is nothing in the game that fights that trap, "you can" use Dark Hole on monsters (if Decatron is not with spell/trap negation or Void Seer is set), but not every deck can use this card, so it is in that annoying situation of the opponent negating your monsters or your spells/traps and giving you 2 D.D. Crow, and you have to deal with it, because on the way back you'll have a Raigeki or a Harpie's Feather Duster

3:45 they literally went with the ban list i asked for salad after the kc, and i knew that one would make it playable but not broken, even then i had many idiots and crybabies saying i was crazy for wanting these nerfs, im telling ya, this game is full of these idiots that have no ideia on how to properly nerf a deck, they just want whatever fucks their decks to be gone, and for their decks to never be hit.
