    Amazing work. I also have a run down SARB017, but I don't trust my local jewelers enough to work on my watch like this :(

    Macro Time's channel does this watch as well, his oiling and greasing are quite exceptional.

      Yes, he has great close-ups and a great recording rig. My head will hit the phone recording this video and my zoom will lose clarity if I zoom in too close. Please stay around, I will get a better recording camera to take better video!

    Wow!!! Fascinating video. He definitely knows what he's doing. Steady hands beautiful work. I own an Alpinist SARB017. Incredible and beautiful watch. I would like a sapphire cyclops crystal installed. Possible? Who knows. Anyway, this guy is a master

      Thanks for dropping by. Materials houses usually sell Crystal with cyclops installed (CousinsUK, Esslinger etc) head to your local watchmaker and request for a quote. You can also add a cyclops to the current crystal. They also sell just the cyclops lens, which can be installed with optical UV cured adhesive.

    Welcome to UA-cam! Just so you know, Mr. Personal-ity s not a watchmaker. He's never even held a screwdriver, let alone had to try to unscrew a stubborn rusted screw. Kind of sad, but once you're in on it it's also funny as hell seeing his comments all over UA-cam. He posts this kind of inane garbage on everyone's channel. I even even provoked him into going all out on me and then made a video homage to him I enjoy it so much. 😂😂😂

    From what I've gathered from my research and hearing from watchmakers that they have a tendency of over oiling these watches through production to get them pumped out. I've heard the movements are great and reliable it's just the oil seems to be the crux. Mine still keeping pretty good time but I can send it to you if you want to clean it up. 😁👍

      I believe workhorse Seiko movements are mainly machine assembled production lines. Yes they are great. Glad you enjoyed your watch. I have too much on my plate at the moment that even editing videos are a challenge. But I do appreciate the offer.

    I only wish i had a good repair shop that does the things you do. Can´t get my Sarb017 to get the bezel changed.

    Please don’t speed up the disassembly and assembly process so much. Those who don’t want to see it can always skip ahead.

    Great restoration! Been waiting for an alpinist restoration. Did you need to replace the Bezel gasket? What size did you need?

    • @awatchdiary
      @awatchdiary  Рік тому +1

      Yes it was replaced as it was soft and deformed upon removing. I searched and got the original seiko part.

      Please please can you give me the name for the original gasket part? I bought an alpinist in pieces and this is the final thing I need to get the watch back together completely. It would be greatly greatly appreciated

    I saw the video of the Tudor (by the way, it was spectacular) and my question is if you used the Bergeon 6723-240-GP wheel for this SARB017. I would like to restore the finish of the lugs of a SARB033 and I think that the one you did to this SARB017 was spectacular. Greetings and thank you very much for sharing

    When you're unscrewing screws, rest your straightened index finger on top of the screwdriver and use your other fingers to manipulate the driver. You have more control that way.

    Hey, if I want to change the crystal (since it’s unfortunately damaged) could I just remove it with the casing ring(?) and replace that way, without taking more of the Whitchurch apart?

    • @awatchdiary
      @awatchdiary  Рік тому +1

      Yes you dont have to remove the bezel

    Hello. Do you have specific information on the size and shape of the crystal. I believe a 32mm x 2.5mm flat crystal will work, but does it need chamfered or straight edges. I'm having a hard time trying to find the information!

    • @awatchdiary
      @awatchdiary  11 місяців тому

      Apologies mate, I was not able to take dimensions of the crystal. The watch has been returned to the owner.

    Great job! On 7:06 you're putting up on plate a black wheel. It looks like it's made of plastic. Is it true or it's just an illusion ?

    • @awatchdiary
      @awatchdiary  Рік тому +1

      Yes, the date change wheel is plastic in the 6R, 4R movements.
