@@slacker403 I usually hate the quirky girl trope because it's so annoyingly unrealistic. But Faye Wong has so much "presence" in this, she grounds every scene from dreamlike to documentary. She's like a lightning rod. The film is full of legendary actors and somehow she sucks the air out of every scene, they can hardly breathe their lines.
Chungking express really changed the way I watch movies,the way it takes place in everyday situations but sublimates them was so inspiring to me...

I consider this movie the first one I watched on my own, I'm glad it was my first because I agree with what you said and I watch many movies with the same style and everything is so much more beautiful than a mere Hollywood movie, but in my eyes alone, I doubt most people think the same...
Even though I've never seen this film I still feel touched by the message and intrigued by the story. Wonderful job as always!

You are right! The first story impacted me to a greater extent. The character of the protagonist felt way more real and I resonated with him in each and every frame. Undeniably, this movie is a masterpiece.
I watched this movie many years ago and didn't quite understand it, but I recently watched it again and those messages and stories really stuck with me. I developed new perspective and learned to appreciate this movie a lot more...I guess my growth and maturity gave me more capacity to understand this movie deeper now. Very touched by so many quotes in this movie.
I’ve watched this video everyday for a month and as may 1st ends and my birthday comes on the 12th I’ll be 28 years old and my life has been so full of beautiful memories I can’t believe it really I’m a vagabond in many ways and have this lust for life that your videos show so well hopefully these memories last for centuries too
