Idk i never owned one you ned to drive a car you ned to see a car before you critisize it
The engine, is it turbo? 2.0 or 3.0, can you add a turbo? Horsepower and tourqe!
My favorite is my 1974 CJ5. But I do own a 2018 JLUR also. And have owned many others.
I’ve had a YJ, TJ and now the JL.....myself, I love the JL........once built, it’s better off road than the other 2 I had.
Jl
Thanks for the video. A common thing to forget with new Jeep owners is when they lift their jeep they need to re-aim their headlights lower or oncoming drivers will be blinded. If the jeep is lifted 2 inches, then headlights sit 2 inches higher which is why people are flashing you.
Wish more people knew this. Drives me crazy when I get blinded. 👍
Thnx for reminding me, just did a three inch
False
@@BlackGT1999 Is that you, Dwight Schrute?
I have a 19 JLUR. After 2 years, no wear on the leather. Best upgrade was the Bestop Sunrider. When you buy a new rear bumper, get one with a tire carrier and get that spare off the tailgate. Most importantly, get that thing off road. It is amazing. Great video. Thank you for sharing.
You Two Work Well Together.
Very Informative And Useful
Definitely recommend buying the OEM Bar doors (not the same thing as the half doors) and also Carolina metal masters’ mirrors (for when you go door-less)
@2:10, why don't you just plug in your phone through the dash media/usb right about the AUX switches?
Well, thanks to Apple Care your phone is displayed on the radio screen so it’s unnecessary have the phone right on your face!!
I wondered the same thing. It would reach better than plugging into the center storage compartment but you’d still see a cable.
Lol i thought it was unnecessary 😂
This is an ideal video ✌
Speaking of ankle strain, I believe a "dead pedal" is a must have for any automatic.
I think I agreed or at least saw the point of all your selections EXCEPT for the dual-door group. These are in huge demand and none of the aftermarket half doors have the same fit and finish. I genuinely believe they're good for three-seasons worth of driving and the solid doors are something I'd only really want on for winter.
I didn't opt for either of the safety groups. Adaptive cruise is nice, but you have to add two options groups to get it. You also get a few groups (lights etc) on the 4xe that you pay extra for on the standard Rubicon.
Great information on the options. 👍
Love the red dash!
Awesome rig. Great job
with a lift kit and bigger tires you might need to lower your headlights (how they are aimed), especially the driver's side since the beam cutoff pattern is probably right at eyelevel for oncoming sedans.
It’s at factory height.
Thank you, one point though....the backup camera is not part of any group, they have been mandatory for a few years.
It a beautiful build. I have the 2021 Willys pretty much loaded with the sky touch roof. My wife has a 2020 with the 3 price hard top so we have the best of both worlds! So we have experienced both. My 2021 has the Alpine and blows away the factory 2020 my wife has. I had to add a sub for her. Good luck.
We have the exact same setup except i didn’t get the front facing camera and got the power skytop. Everything else is literally the same 🤤
when you wire a USB cable to one of the auxillary switches for phone charging, can you post a video?
If you mention what engine you got I didn’t hear it very curious to know? Thank you for your video very very informative!! I’m getting ready to order the two-door Rubicon.
Neither of my 2 YJ’s had a black top (1 white/1 Sand). But from what other owners have told me, is that the Black top can be rather hot during peak sunny Summer months (if on... a/c can’t keep up on high/stifling hot if sitting etc. ). Still if the Jeep were Black... it definitely needs a Black top. Great idea for a video, Guys! Thanks.
Looking at a Rubicon with additional features, pretty much what y’all have. In Tennessee do I need the cold weather option & block warmer? My first jeep I’ve wanted for 29+ years and trying to keep the price as low as possible.
I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, I added redline tuning hood struts. Eliminates the hood prop. I’m going to put on bodyguard RT stubby front bumper & rear full sized. Might add their fender kit & light pillars. Rockslide engineering side steps, possibly add their guards. 37” tires & hard rock rims. SPOD lights & accessory control center. I’m going have some paint work done on front the front trim, next week.
Nice Jeep, but you missed the lift kit on it?? I see FOX shocks front and back. did you keep the same OEM tire size with lift
One option i got that in really happy with is the 5 position transfer case not sire how much it was but it was expensive it give 4 auto so living in Canada its wonderful in the winter it upgrade my axels as well
Not a bad ride. I take my JL with two doors, a clutch and non paint matched top or bumpers. No leather for me but definitely cold weather.
Sting Gray with the black freedom top and fenders looks good.
And what do you think of the diesel engine? Worth the upgrade?
What would you change if doing a mid-size truck instead and why?
You can get MOPAR leather covers that go over the standard cloth seats. I believe these are the ones listed on the build sheet as MOPAR perforated
They’re katzkin and they’re shit. Get PRP seat covers
Proximity door locks?
BTW, a slight oversight, back up camera is standard regardless of trim by law. But you DO get backup sensors and blind spot indicators.
XLNT video you two! Very enthusiastic and fun. Instant subscriber.
my friends jl has a usb port in the media section right above the aux buttons
same on the 2021
Got any trail recommendations in Washington :)
You missed the 392 hemi.
I like the channel and this is an observation though. If other drivers are flicking their high beams, they may be at least somewhat blinded and not feeling safe driving which could also make your situation less safe. A vehicle that rides high with very bright headlights can be difficult for oncoming traffic. I was going to put LEDs into my early bronco and noticed that I was blinded with what other guys had done. One driver blinded could be bad for everybody so it's something to take into account. Lots of articles/petitions on this recently. Still dig the channel and keep the content coming.
Mine is a jku, Rubicon hard rock. I did not get the color matched roof or fenders, mine is blue and with the matching blue roof and fenders it was tooooo much blue, leather is the only way to go on the seats, definitely get the roof sound reduction tape and padded inserts, quieter and better insulating. And driving is more fun then pointing it, mine is the 6 speed manual transmission
nice vid bro
Overall pretty informative video but i have some comments
1) the tail lights you compare them to are the stock JK, not JL which are pretty blah
2)Headlights: I think they could easily be upgraded for a fraction of that cost. (500$ for all )
3) all JLs come with backup cameras as it's a federal requirement. Granted the standard one comes with a smaller screen and no park sensors
#2 do you mean $500 headlights only? The oem lighting package around $1000 includes rear tail and fender LED.
@@1eevahn I have converted to LEDs all around for under 300$
I went with the painted fenders and top reason being it’s a known fact that black plastic will fade looking like chalk.
Also, Ideal Media. If you're looking for any ideas for video's. As an upcoming buyer, i'm super intrigued to see how the apple carplay AND android auto work with the infotainment system. Sadly there is a void of any content about the JL's and their integration.
Hey or really anyone here. You own a diesel JLU, and I'm currently completely torn on the purchase of the diesel vs alt options. I'm not here to ask you should I get the vehicle, but more so, how has your experience been when it comes to finding diesel in remote places? How big of a concern is that for you, and if it is a concern how are you overcoming this?
I wish you could get a rubicon with roll up windows and a simple radio.
Let me know how taking the back piece of the hardtop and putting on the soft top several times works out for you lmao.
Dual top is the dumbest feature they offer. It's for short sighted suckers only.
Hi there,
My question is, did you order this customized jeep from the jeep website or jeep dealership?
Great review… Thanks! I think I would have opted for the leather because it’s so wearable and if you take care of it, it’ll last forever… Just like a good bridal and saddle used for horses. When it gets dirty, you wipe it down and it’s good as new… The occasional leather treatment as well.
I agree. Based on this video i started out with cloth. Then after cleaning my current trailblazer that has cloth seats lots of dog hair and odor. Took forever. But if had leather seats in would have just wiped it off and all is good. So i chose the leather option.
@@dannycnoble Watch the dog's claws, when they scramble to get in and out!
@@tripleseven8361 only 1 of the chihuahuas does not ride in the travel kennel ( the oldest) the 2 little ones have to ride in there. they are to tiny to be in a lap. we keep the claws trimmed and rounded so the are smooth and not like tiny razors. ut i do see your point and will make sure to watch that
@@dannycnoble Oh...I was thinking that maybe you had a large dog like a shepherd… Those are the guys shouldn’t be any problem at all!
LEATHER NOWADAYS ARE THE BEST STRONG AND DURABLE, YOU'LL REGRET IT DUDE FOR NOT GETTING IT AND THE SMELL OF BRAND NEW LEATHER IS LIKE YOUR IN HEAVEN
This is a great video! Great job! Very informative!
When the snow melts on my hood it leaves a baby Yoda image.
What is funny is that our 2021 Jeep Gladiator Ecodiesel Sport S came with painted fenders at no additional price, but when you move up to the Rubicon it cost extra for the painted fenders.
I think the black fender contrast looks better.
I have jeep rubicon 2021 same colour same option with your jeep it just use diffrence engine is 3.6L v6 , and with the reason of 3pcs body top colour that why i took the black colour to save money for fence and 3pcs top :)))
I'm curious about the Sky One Touch.
If you compare the LED tail lamps to halogen tail lamps, you should compare the same model. You showed a JK and if I’m not mistaken those were aftermarket cheap LEDs. Also, it is not a truck, it is not a car, it is a Jeep. Call it what it is, a Jeep.
No leather seats, no steel number, no and painted fenders. These are the best features man!
Eh the painted fenders just get messed up. Odds are some c**ksucker will put a cart in into them at the grocery store.
When people do these option videos I would really like to see people explain that alot of those options are not available individually, for example, the safety groups have to be bought together you cant just get adaptive cruise without getting blind spot etc misleading to put the individual option price without explaining that. but overall well explained
Engine/Trans. What option did you go with and would you do it again?
They said at least twice it is the ecodiesel which is 3.0 and only comes paired with the hd 8 speed
I wish I had Adaptive cruise control on my car, Hell my ankles have Biceps !!!!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I've heard the top liners don't really do much to dampen or insulate and pretty much just make the parts bulkier to store. Couldn't tell you from personal experience, though.
wouldn't after-market led headlights and tail lights cost half as much?
Yeah but they would only look twice as good. =)
When I bought my JL I opted for the steel bumper which looks cool and fits a winch very nicely, but unfortunately I was told you can't get the adaptive cruise if you have the steal bumper option.
Interesting, I just got the steel bumper and was able to get the adaptive cruise. But I had to order it.
@@TechnoBlz well f me... serves me right for listening to the sales guy. I knew something was off when I'd ask him specific questions... Thanks for confirming 👍
@@jemmrich Welcome, I just placed my order last two weeks ago. I got nervous and called after you said that and the manager confirmed it was ok. He said to even confirm just go on jeep(.)com and just try building a custom jeep. The system is designed to make modifications if something is not compatible or will add something if needed. I tried and seemed to work there. The only thing I wish I would have added is the tow package.
I have both on my 2021 JLUR Diesel
The acc is a box mounted on the windshield. Bumpers have zero to do with it...
But doesnt it have the closer plugs for the phone above the aux buttons?
I have a 2021 JL Unlimited Rubicon with the 3.6L V6 and the manual transmission. It has leather seats, the upgraded entertainment system, and the gorilla glass windshield. Everything else is bare bones. I did not custom order it, I picked a new one up at a dealership.
1. The upgraded entertainment system is absolutely worth it. I love it and I use it everyday.
2. The leather seats are only worth it if you plan on either swapping your seats out or putting seat covers on. People complain about Wrangler seats, but I have no problem with them, and the dealer took these off the price, so I'm happy.
3. The windshield is currently in pristine condition, so I have no complaints, but I also have nothing with which to compare it.
4. I really would have like the trailer tow package, and upgrading it to this after the fact is in my plans, but it will be much more of a pain in the ass and probably more expensive, so definitely opt in to the trailer tow package if you can.
5. I'm sure the LED light package is great, but the aftermarket KC Hilites headlight swap is cheaper and amazing, so I am okay with not having gotten this one. If you do not get it though, you will want to swap them, as the stock halogen lights fucking suck.
6. The steel bumpers are something I also which I got. The plastic rear bumper sucks and the front one does not allow for a winch, so getting the steel bumper upgrades is a must unless you have your own aftermarket ones that you want to add on yourself.
7. The top is up to you. I will never take the top off, so I have the hardtop. My hardtop is black, as are my fenders (on a red jeep), not painted, which is what I like.
8. I don't have any of the safety sensor things, and I have never felt like I need them or would use them. I like being in full control over my car, but I seem to be in the minority of people on this, as most people I know love cruise control and shit like that when driving.
9. I don't have the front facing camera, and I imagine that that would have been nice when parallel parking in a tight space or when off roading.
10. The hinge gate reinforcement is necessary only if you plan on getting like 37 inch or bigger tires. If you keep the stock tires, then don't bother.
Fyi, every vehicle made from 2019 onward has to have a backup camera.
Does the heated seat option, heat the rear seats too? My wife wants a Jeep now
No
No but there’s aftermarket kits for the rear ~ $100
What's the suspension setup broo
Did you change your shocks
What about the Motor?
LED lights not great in snowy weather. They don't melt snow.
Sick jeep but you must angle those headlights down before you give someone a seizure.
2 hours missed early gang today lol
The backup camera is standard since 2018. Why do you need to pay for it?
Be careful with LED lights on raised car. Ive seen some cars that got blinded with them and crashed into the cars that had them. It can be so bad it wipes out the other drivers Vision of the road.
I wish you could get adaptive cruise without also getting basic safety group
Why would you need your phone on the dash? This thing has hands free Bluetooth and navigation. Just wondering.
great question
Making videos!
I'm looking at buying a 2021 Rubicon 4xE . ( blue, of course) The only option i'm honestly still on the fence about is the steel bumper group. I don't know enough as to whether or not it's worth the extra 2 grand for that. I'm planning on adding a winch and something like a shark grill, but honestly I can't really see the value in spending 2k on it. Shall see.
I am so tempted by that 4xe! But on the bumper issue - most people only upgrade the front bumper so I always see that steel bumper upgrade as a waste of money.
It's good you bought those safety features, and another benefit to the Tow Package aside from a larger Alternator is the Tow Bar actually stiffens the subframe, kind of like a subframe connector. Great content, and will be looking forward to the next automotive detail 👦🏻👍🏻💥🏎🏁🏆
Subframe? False.
@@BlackGT1999 I said act like a Subframe connector, which convertibles require to stiffen the the vehicle. the Tow Bar adds strength to the frame keeping it from flexing
Where was the eco diesel verdict? I assumed the thumbnail $6000 question was regarding the motor. What a waste of time.
Ya I was annoyed at that apparent clickbait too.
I was also annoyed with the deceptive title of this video. It makes you look desperate for views and just isn’t a good look.
Totally. Waste of time looking at people who put their faces in the camera because they think they're cute. "Look at us, we're so successful and super happy with our decisions on how we spend our parents money!" Meh.
@@reminaya I never make any assumptions about a grown adult who is successful. fWIW this couple seems to be successful outside of UA-cam and honestly they don’t seem to be the “look at all my stuff and how cool I am “ youtubers. They actually seem to present good info and justified each option well. I was annoyed at the clickbait as well. For some of the vapid youtubers I get the fact that clickbait is all they have to offer to get views but these 2 have a lot of potential and I enjoyed their videos (2 that I watched on the Jeep so far) but the clickbait has to go or at least touch on those clickbait thumbnail subjects at least once. I would love to see them succeed on YT. They seem very nice and presented useful info to me as I just bought the exact same Jeep.
Good call on no leather for shorties, my 5’3” latina puts a damn beating on my passenger seat.
Wait why do you need to plug your phone in the aux? Isn't it Bluetooth connect without the cord
My aftermarket LED headlights are amazing and they were $300... not $1300. I also got amazing LED taillights with super bright reverse lights for $110. So $410 vs $1300 🤔
I added "Hot Heads" head liners. They are less than the factory ones and way better for keeping the heat out, less noise and makes the music sound better.
I’m trying to decide between hothead liners & Cover King which hides all of the white of the top.
@@photoapeal Cover king does cover more. Are you going for looks or function? Hot heads are better for insulation.
@@randycarter4529 I’m interested in both looks & function. I wondered if the cover king was more of a thin cover. Appreciate the reply. 🤠👍🏻
Shows tale lights of jk all jls have those tail light bro your killing me man lol
'21 Wrangler Willys Sport. 2door Snazberry, half doors, premium uppers. Proximity locks, A/C, Hardtop, Sat radio, hitch. 6speed, there you go!! 42000.
Did you already put 35s (yes you can put 35s no mods)
It looks like they have added the MOPAR lift. If that is the case, I would jump straight to 37s and skip the 35s.
Go Stinger Heigh10 stereo upgrade.
Not a truck, or a car, or an SUV. It's a Jeep.
How lifted is this
How did you get a loaded Rubicon for 50,000$?????
I disagree about the leather seats. The wear really well if you use a little conditioner on them from time to time.
Nice review, I would definitely skip however on the uconnect upgrade. You can get an insane audio center console that is android ready, bigger and better quality for 1300$. You can also resale the old radio for 300-400 bucks. I would skip on the safety sensors, if you are doing some solid mods its a pain in the ass to keep those sensors working with the aftermarket stuff.
That diesel is the best option Jeep offers.
@7:25 where is this place?
I don't get it... 70 000$ for all terrain vehicle. You could get like 7 UAZ or MAZ russian proper all terrain vehicles. Even SHERP is possible thing for that amount. You could get like MAZ, UAZ, Pinz Gauer 6x6 and Kia stinger and have more fun on the road and in mountain.
Ps: are those things purchasable in USA?
No but mexico has it even de jimny
My eyes might be deceiving me but those fenders don't look like the factory plastic...theyyyyy kinda look like it's a matching paint? Maybe its because they're wet...
Did you guys know the blue porsche in fast and furious was actually a 996 carrera yes they lied to us
$3.995 for half doors. Going for $5,000 aftermarket. Look better, seal better, better sight lines. Get the
Half door group.
Mobil nya bagus bagus mantap
One bonus of the leather seats is that you get a pull down center console in the rear bench seat.
Love the Jeep , love watching other ppl spending money even more😂
Brad the brad
if I only had the money
Damn money bags!! porche and a brand new Jeep!?
Must have no kids? Them things cost a fortune
Hi
Definitely need bigger tires and a door step!!!
