Roland’s stated rationale and strategy to not release modern versions of these classic synths and instead endlessly sell virtual analog and vst recreations of them is so sad. You’re not moving forward by just releasing inferior digital recreations of forty year old synths. Either make the real thing or make something truly new.
Looking at their Chronicle: 1973 - 2014, they’ve made 80 synths (including variants) since this synth.
Fortunately Roland has released the boutique version of JX3P.

Roland is losing the point. Imagine Fender not making strats anymore, but just software instruments. As a musician i wonder, why not make (also) the analog hardware instruments instead like other brands...
As they started making digital synths from 1987 onwards, I’m always amazed people think they should change.
