Did that trip many years ago in a T25 , no ferry at that time so had to go through France. On arrival in Spain we hit a heat wave in August and the van started to overheat as it was a 1983 one of the first water cooled petrol spacemaker versions. With 3 young children 2 years to 6 years old on board we parked outside a garage beside a restraint, each night the garage would roll the van out so we could sleep in it and in the morning all the kids would march into the cafe to brush their teeth. As it was August the garage could not get the parts from Germany so we/they loaded the camper on a truck and delivered it to a campsite. Set up camp and really enjoyed 2 weeks . The garage came out to the site with the parts worked on it and got us going again. I love the Spanish they knew we were stuck and pulled out all the stops to get my wee family going again.
Very good information you shared about how to survive on the ferry trip! Wow such a long trip...glad you are back vlogging and enjoy your time in Spain and we will armchair along with you!! Rob n Elva

Hey!! Yes when we were on the crossing they were telling us about the Salamanca! Definitely be better than the Connemara. The new boat is brilliant with lots of free media entertainment. The 28 hours last Sunday flew by for us. PS: hairdryer are part of the cabin equipment now also 😀
I'm with Stuart's insurance:) they are the broker but I'm insured with Aviva. If you are going to be in Europe for more than 30 days you have to let them know so they can give you a green card. They can offer it up to 3 months free. Trust me you need it. The police check.

¡Empieza vuestra aventura !
I've travelled to most countries in Europe and been on tons of ferries and that heap of junk is the worst ferry ever. It broke down in Portsmouth before we left for Spain and I was stuck on the wreck for 50hrs . Never again. Good luck with the channel 👍.
Yeah it absolutely sucks!! If 18 hours was bad I woukdnt like to experience 50hrs 😂 From next month on they have a new boat for the crossing so hopefully it's better. And the boat is very expensive also. Thanks for watching ❤✌
Did they accept cards when you went, there were plenty people couldn't get food at all when we went and when we came back because the card machines were "broken". There putting a 1 year old cruise ferry on that route later this year. Already booked for next year 😁 Enjoy.
I think we remember people paying with card, we had our own food with us. Yeah the Salamanca is sailing from November i think. We are still in Bilbao might have to book next year too haha
