We have the same treasure box!! I got ours at Mardel's :) I'll be checking out your amazon list for sure. We use a little punch card system. They can get a punch everyday for completing their work or just having a good school day. A punch per book read with a little summary written or drawn (we are in an early reader stage right now). I will also hand out a random punch for good behavior or a good deed :) Each card is about 10 punches and they get to dig around in the treasure box!!
I have one teen daughter. If her work is not done by the end of the week, she doesn't see her friends on Friday. Nothing is more motivating than seeing your friends as a teen. My daughter worked ahead so she would have grace so she wouldn't miss any weeks.
I’m a mom of five with two 3 and under and the one thing that has blessed me about your videos for years is the simplicity you share. Thanks for always making momhood, homeschool and personhood approachable and realistic. A little consistency and honesty with self will take your family far i’ve learned that from you. Thanks for teaching us that through your lifestyle Abby. And loving God out in the open can’t forget that it shines light on dark spaces.❤️
I love that you have an actual treasure box. This was super helpful. My oldest is going in to Middle School this coming year and I’m noticing that the age gap between that child and my younger ones seems bigger.
I would be most excited to win the Laura Ingalls Wilder letter! I plan on doing a unit study on little house when they get a little older and this would be a perfect thing to add in!
My kids love history and I have been thinking of Heritage Letter for quite a while. Personally, I'd love the Francis Scott Key one - my Maryland roots are proud of the story of the Star Spangled Banner...and getting to see the actual flag was just a life moment I will never forget. I think about it every time I hear our anthem!
We study a famous person every other week with another family and this subscription is perfect!!! I’m definitely going to check this out.Thank you for sharing
The letters sound like something my kids would love! Especially the Laura Ingalls Wilder letter, my daughter loves her books so much we had to have a Little House themed birthday party.
Good reminder. I get so focused on getting it all done that I forget about simple incentives. I think my daughter would really like the Laura Ingalls Wilder Heritage letters.
I saw you mention the treasure box in the video you posted today, the room walkthrough. This is such a great idea that I feel I normally would have balked at. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us brand new homeschool moms.
I love the idea of receiving the letter - living history aspect. As my kids get older they are more interested in history and this looks like a great addition. Thank you for sharing tips on treasure box. I’ve been looking for simplicity!
What an awesome resource!!! I’d be most excited for Laura Ingles Wilder or Norman Rockwell but getting to know other historical figures sounds wonderful too! It blows my mind the amazing things available to learn in such unique and fun ways for homeschool. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your videos ❤️
The Heritage Letters look like a good addition to our morning time. I think I may have to snag this treasure box idea for my youngest! Thanks for sharing!
I have been eyeing this company for awhile, my kids love to receive mail and I always thought how fun it would be if it was someone other than me 😂😉 Heading into our 7th year of homeschooling in the fall, hard to believe!
we work on a 4 week rotation and my 3 kids (age 7, 10,12) love "trips". example the local farm, the creek, our city museum and a cool park that is 2 cities over. then we will do bigger trips about 2 to 4 times a year like zoo, knotts, water park or performance show they want to see. it really helps. love the chest idea for weekly incentives
I used your treasure box idea before when you shared it. It is a very cool idea. However, I have tweens and teens so I started to use mommy coupons in the box to replace items. This helped to balance the cost😊. Some coupons were extra screen time, skip a chore, pick the field trip for the month, mom does your chore, stay up/ sleep in 30 minutes later and a do-over card for bad behavior. But wanted to share an alternative for moms of teens and things that don't actually cost money as a reward.
I've been looking for something to motivate the kids (especially at this time of year as we're all finding it harder to stay focused and keep going some days). Thank you so much for this video!
This is such a simple system! I am adding it to ideas for our homeschool next year.. maybe even this year if I can get it together. We have been subscribers to heritage letters in the past and they are so good… Phyllis Wheatley would be our favorite to get from this list 🥰 thank you for the giveaway opportunity!
I love this simplicity! We gave up our prize box in December to focus on Advent too. I haven't gotten back into it because it feels daunting.... I was making it too complicated!
Thanks for sharing! I really needed ideas for something different as for a reward system ☺️ I for real need to try the Heritage Letter to add some fun to our history
We have been successfully using the contribution/blue ribbon system that I first learned from you several years ago! I’m so grateful you share your wisdom and experience. I’ll be keeping this treasure box in mind when we need to change things. I’d be excited about any of the letters, but Anna comstock would be a favorite for our family!
Do you remember where she mentions the blue ribbon system? I searched the video history and found where where she briefly mentions it but I’m hoping to find the full explanation!
I’m really excited to try this! We have 2 friends joining our homeschool a couple days a week and I needed a good idea for keeping everybody on track and motivated. This is perfect! Adding to my Amazon shopping cart now! I had not heard of those Dover books. They look so fun!
Thank you for the great idea! I need simple since I have not stuck with any reward system for very long so far. I am excited for the giveaway! I would love to learn more about Laura Ingalls Winder.
Twenty year homeschool veteran here and I never thought about a weekly treasure box! I know, Der! lol. I'm thinking it will work great for my 9yo (delayed) and my almost 5yo. I'm sure the 14yo will enjoy it too lol
Hey, Abby! First of all, I just wanted to tell you how thankful I am for your channel! It’s been such an encouragement to me, and my family has reaped the blessings of your wisdom and your faithfulness to Christ! So thank you!! ❤️ Secondly, I was wondering if you would make a video talking about how you help your children persevere? I know they’re in sports and they play different instruments on top of their school work, and I’d love to hear any tips you might have when one of your kids wants (or begs..) to quit. My daughter is in piano and she despises practicing, but she’s REALLY naturally gifted in it and we want all four of our kids to have some sort musical training as they grow in our home. My husband and I are struggling with how best to encourage her heart to keep going, or if we should just let her stop. If you’ve already made a video talking about how you/your kids choose their instruments or sports and what has helped you and your husband shepherd their hearts when they feel defeated, I’d be so thankful if you could link it below! Again, thank you for your ministry here on UA-cam. I’m praying you would not grow weary of doing good because it’s so evident that this channel is something the Lord has called you to! ❤️❤️❤️
This is so simple, yet genius! I tried handing out raffle tickets for prizes and it ended up being too much to keep up on. I’ll have to give this a go.
What about your younger kids? I understand the older ones would have more work so a longer list to have done by the end of the week but for the younger ones that need more one-on-one guidance do they get rewarded more based on behavior?
Hi! This is a great video! Thank you! Can u link the video you did in the past about your ticket system? I have a 6 year old that I thought it might be helpful with :)

Thank you for sharing. Heritage Letter is an awesome company and so well made.

That’s so great that she worked ahead! I love when they have the flexibility to make those decisions for themselves!
What a good idea for a fun reward! And the letters sound so interesting and would teach so much in such a fun way!

This is awesome. What a fun way to get to know these important people in our American history. This would bring them to life.
Thank you for sharing! Can’t wait to try this in our homeschool! Heritage letters look fun! Personally I’d love the laura Ingalls wilder one 😂
I need one too :) I am going to make one for my kids thanks for the idea.
I love that you have an actual treasure box.
This was super helpful. My oldest is going in to Middle School this coming year and I’m noticing that the age gap between that child and my younger ones seems bigger.
We have been subscribed to Heritage Letter for about a year. My kids enjoy it.
I love super simple, it’s the best way to go and be consistent for me.
I would be most excited to win the Laura Ingalls Wilder letter! I plan on doing a unit study on little house when they get a little older and this would be a perfect thing to add in!

The letters sound like something my kids would love! Especially the Laura Ingalls Wilder letter, my daughter loves her books so much we had to have a Little House themed birthday party.
I agree In not aging them out of things if they are still into it! They’re only with us for so short a time, soak it all in :).
Good reminder. I get so focused on getting it all done that I forget about simple incentives.
I think my daughter would really like the Laura Ingalls Wilder Heritage letters.
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing!
We LOVE those little building block things from Target. They are so much fun!
I didn't think I'd be on board with this idea but I'm pleased I watched the video because now I am. Thanks for sharing Abby!
Thank you for sharing and for being honest that you use rewards some times but not all the time.
I saw you mention the treasure box in the video you posted today, the room walkthrough. This is such a great idea that I feel I normally would have balked at. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us brand new homeschool moms.

Love your reward idea. Also thanks for sharing heritage letters. I think my kiddos would love them.
Love the idea of working towards the end of the week, always looking for ways to promote delayed gratification in our home

Hey, I love those little fern jars on your shelf. Willing to share where you found them? 🤓
You are always the best💓

Hi! This is a great video! Thank you! Can u link the video you did in the past about your ticket system? I have a 6 year old that I thought it might be helpful with :)
Hmm ... My child has executive function challenges. I wonder if this would help?!
What' does your youngest have to do to get an item from the treasure box. I have a three year old who would definitely want to take part too.
