Ian I would ask that you add a recommended skill level for the riders of the bikes you review. Someone with perhaps a year or two under their belt may not be able to handle this amount of horsepower.
Agree with you. Suzuki made a great step in the right direction. Hope they will give the the next one the central stand. Otherwise no complaints. Drop by when have time, you may like it.
@@realscience948 the rust thing is a bit of a heart breaker, a 5 year old Suzuki tends to look much worse than a 10 year old Honda, it's often not actually going to cause any structural/functional issues but it does kill the "look back" appeal of the bike.
I came from the Ninja 1000sx and just bought the GT in red. I believe it's more of a rider's bike. Less riding aids and more you. Whilst I loved the Ninja, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't thrill me quite as well. And that candy red is so beautiful. No matter what, if you choose this or the ninja, you're getting a great bike. With little plus and minus against each other but ultimately the same end result. Happy and safe riding out there to everyone.
Bought this bike a month ago and couldn't be happier. I kept looking at adventure bikes until I realized that most of my riding (90%) is on pavement. I can get a bona fide dual sport for the other 10% if I need to. Great review!
My sentiments exactly on the dual sport if the itch arrises. I went with the '22 1000SX, but it frankly doesn't look like you can go wrong either way. Sadly she just went into winter storage yesterday 😢 . Cheers from Vermont!
I am curious, why winter storage? I live in Australia, you can ride year round. I am guessing snow covering the roads making anything with less than 4 wheels a recipe for disaster.
@@Wadeifer same for me. I only ride on roads (off road is illegal in Germany and i also dont want to). And im thinking about the same Versys or a more sporty one like the GSXS or Tracer 9
I work at a Suzuki dealership and I uncrate these, assemble them, and then prep them for customer delivery when they sell. That includes a 5-mile test ride. These are never on the showroom floor long. Great bike for the money. The braking system does leave some to desire.
Holy, Moly! Congratulations. I'm 55 and realizing my wrist really doesn't want another Hayabusa. Been watching videos on this bike for five months. Treating myself next year.
I agree with you Ian, in today's hyper inflated prices this bike represents good value, also I find it pleasing on the eye, even the predator looking front end fits in well with the rest of the bike. I think Suzuki will sell shed loads, it's also getting great reviews here in the UK. Thank you for another great review...
The one problem with the Sport Touring segment is actually trying to find time to… sports tour. ….2 kids, a house to pay for, work, kids travel ball… it’s hard to even find time.
Finally finally finally you are reviewing this bike, also I'm waiting for the review of the Kawasaki z1000sx it's competitor, I love sport touring bike inline 4 engines, I'm so 😊😊😊😊
Just get whatever color you like best. People cry about the lean sensitive stuff but if you are panick braking at full lean you will still crash on the Kawi. As for everything else there aint much in it, the Suzuki is slightly faster
I just bought one of these last week! Going from a 790 Adventure S to this because I can’t really ride off road where I live. It is so far just a wonderful motorcycle and offers so much for the price!
Gotta love that on this channel you just know before you even open up the video you know there's perfectly placed chapter markers and a "competition" section right as I want it. Love it!
Nicely done review. I have the predecessor of this model the GSX-S1000F and find it to be an excellent solo rider sport tourer. The motor is certainly the highlight of this bike.
I actually find this to be one of the better standard windshields. It takes all the wind pressure of my chest and although there is wind around my helmet it is not the unpleasant buffeting that you can sometimes get. (I'm 6ft tall)
I believe there's still a market for SPORT-touring bikes instead of just ADV bikes. Just like Ford and GM have kept the Mustang and Camaro while ditching all their other cars in favor of SUVs and pickups. Something that would be a deal breaker though is insurance premiums. I was going to get a Ninja 1000 but the insurance company priced it the same as the ZX-10R, meaning I'd have to pay more for insurance monthly than I currently pay annually for 4 bikes, one of which was a Triumph Sprint ST until recently. Hopefully the insurance companies won't see GSX and think GSX-R and price the insurance premiums like they've done with the Ninja 1000. Insurance premiums could be what's pushing people to the ADV category. Whenever I wanted to get the Ninja 1000, which I couldn't afford because of the insurance, I could have gotten the Versys 1000 (same motor!) without much of an increase to the insurance premiums I was already paying. So stupid!
A really unbiased and informative review. The K5/6 motor is a bulletproof and robust motor, reliable and so torquey strong...plain flat hauls ass! I want one, great value at the price! Ride safe 🙏🏻🏍☀️🇿🇦👍
Epi from Malaysia here. We don’t have many reviews on this bike locally, but after watching your vid here, I’m definitively buying… the model had just been launched here about 3 months ago… thanks!
Always appreciate Ian’s in depth reviews…best in the internet IMHO! One of my friends bought the first one of these available in the US. She’s found new love! (Edit: she added a windshield extension, btw.) This is a bike you can have fun with every day or jump on it and take a 4000 mile road trip without a worry. (Except usual road trip maintenance, of course.) Best sport tourer out there so far!
Ian, your reviews are outstanding! The more videos you do the more you get better! It's unreal that this channel has become soooo good for us to visit, great, GREAT job!! 👏🏼♥️
Excellent review. Bike looks, sounds and seems to perform great. My only complaint would be that a sport tourer with a chain final drive needs a factory centerstand.
i would disagree. a center stand is not sporty. you're talking about the adv style of tourer, which some also call a sport tourer. i disagree with that as well. i think an adv that's intended only for short/mild off roading, like the versys 1000, should be classified as an adventure tourer, not a sport tourer, and there's where you'll find a center stand.
@@thinkdunson You make a good point, John, but when I go sport touring (not adv touring) I tend to be on the road for long stretches and servicing the chain in a campground or motel parking lot without a centerstand gets old real quick at my age (62yo.) So for me the centerstand is a deal breaker. But I can see that for others it might not be. Ride safe!
@@thinkdunson I tend to agree with you on bike classification. However, I have a 11' Triumph Sprint GT that matches this bike closer than any listed in the video. It is a true Sport Tourer and has a center stand as standard equipment. If you are on tour and don't have access to your paddock stand, a center stand is fantastic to have for maintenance (chain tension/lube - oil changes) and even ideal for parking. It doesn't hamper performance in any way! Honestly the fact that it doesn't have a center stand is the reason I wouldn't buy it.😉
With today's chains, coupled with fantastic long-lasting products like chain waxes, I don't mind the infrequent hassle. The trade-off of having to reroute the exhaust and add a heavy stand would not be worth it for me. I'm on a 1000SX with the same (non)issue.
This is the bike that when I bought it put such a smile on my face I could swear i'd never get my helmet off again. You cannot go wrong with this bike, its a world beater.
If I had the coin available a few weeks ago, I absolutely would’ve bought this exact model and color. Beautiful bike with a very practical mix of performance, comfort, and luggage. But I got a massive deal on a 2020 Katana demo bike that still had the full warranty for only 9K, just too good to pass up. And so far I’ve been very happy with the Katana.
Thumbs up for introduction and giving the context of Suzuki company as a motorcycle manufacturer and comparing the volume of production with Honda. I learnt something new.
I am not surprised this has high accolades. The motor is a Suzuki legend - a real gem. However the real genius is the chassis package. Its wonderful perfect combination of power, handling, nimbleness and balance is what the GSXS-1000 is and importantly.... at the right price!
Suzuki have been making exceptional bikes for decades and so happy to see they still are .. This bike is a weapon when needed and docile when required.
yeah thats another thing that tells u this isnt any way shape or form a ST. right after u look at the smaller-than-a-sport-bike screen. its a gixxer squid missile sport bike for older filks who dont wont fold themselves up to ride a sport bike but still wanna haul ace. gixxer squid-mobile all the way. this wont do any serious highway riding noway. buzz u numb then painfully in less n 30mins/100miles at anything over 70. youd never last till the fuel light came on. and beat u to death with the wind. nah, stay away from touring on this. run to walgreens, here an there B roads only with stoplights., an do what this gixxer waaaahhh machine it is is meant for. light to light waaaahhhh. sure, with some bags/riding position so u wont get profiled by the cops. "oh old guy, saddlebags, sitting up straight... nahhhh, solid citizen"
I own this bike since May and I really like it. My only complaint is center stand...it needs one! This is a really smooth/comfortable ride. I'm 65 years old...if that matters!
I"ve owned three Suzuki's. Two DL V-Stroms, both 1000 model, and a 2nd gen Bandit 1200S air/oil cooled engined based on the older GSXR1000. All three were high quality, 100% reliable and a ton of fun to ride. Loved both models. The Bandit was especially fun with the half-fairing. Did lots of touring on it out west.
Great review- Having my Goldwing since 2019' I wanted something a little lighter and sportier like this GSX-S1000GT to give me a completely different ride experience - upon further review I went with the Kawasaki H2 SE-SX which has my GL1800 gathering lots of dust this fall
Detailed review. Shame for the center stand on a ST bike, otherwise no complaints. Seems that we can expect also other brands to go "more ST" in 2023. You mentioned the Tracer 9GT. I just rode one. Can check mate. p.s. Would like to try also this one. Anyways you got my like. Keep up.
Bought this bike last week and love it. I cannot find fault with any aspect of this bike ...even the cruise activation button on the right side, which so many test riders have complained about, is not an issue for me at all! Press the button before you ride off if it is so hard to reach while riding, and consider it a unique feature of the bike. Thanks for a great review, and even more, thanks to Suzuki for making a competitive alternative to another great sports tourer, the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX.
Excellent review .I bought this bike 2 month ago and the more i drive it the more potens it show. Its a beutifull bike and its wunderfull to drive. One tips for the windshield is to put trays under the front mounts of it an get a little more angle. I test it and the turbulens around the helmet was redused.
Love this bike. Still not convinced I'd take it over a current gen Ninja 1000 (especially since Kawi is about to release a new Ninja 1000 for the 2023 model year!) but the new Suzuki still catches my eye. Glad they jumped into the fray.
This Suzuki is one of three bikes on my 'next bike list.' The other two are tiger 660 and Ninja 1000sx. Currently I ride a Ninja 400 '23. While saddling, both felt heavier than Suzuki. I'm 5'7", 31" ish inseam. When a heavier bike fills lighter than the weight, it inpires confidence..!! So for that reason alone, I am willing to forego the IMU on the Ninja and choose the Suzuki. Thanks Ian for helping me to decide on my next bike, the Suzuki GSXS1000GT+
I'm still favoring my 2008 GSF1250/S Bandit. At 72, it & my 2017 Triumph Bonneville Bobber 1200 will probably be the last bikes that I buy, although doing a trike conversion on a Triumph 2600cc Rocket would be the ultimate "senior" ride when I can't trust my leg strength or balance anymore.
I second this. My 2001 bandit 1200 is perfect for sport touring. Lots of torque and able to do mild offroad. Even took her too tuktoyaktuk 2 up with my wife.
It's a pity you stayed only in mode B the entire time. Also, compared to competitors, Suzuki proves again they hit far above their weight. That entire bike design is so original, a trend setter, and to me a class leader. Love your reviews!
I had a 2003 SV1000S and loved it. It was my first introduction into riding. Great to see that Suzuki is keeping with that style of bike. I won’t go back to this style of bike since getting my GS but… as always the content was great.
I'm looking for a second bike, and was looking at the Suzuki GSX-S1000GT at my local dealers a couple of days ago, while getting my bike serviced. I was talking to the mechanic and mentioned the brakes, but he said things really improve when you put decent pads in them. MCN also criticised the tyres and the short gearing, but those problems can also be easily rectified. I was looking at the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX, but for the price, plus you get a 3-year warranty here in the UK, I think I'll be going for this bike, eventually. 👍
@@G91YS A Yamaha Ténéré 700, and no, I haven't bought Suzuki GSX-S1000GT, yet. To be honest, I've still not made my mind up. There are a couple of other bikes I'm interested in, such as the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS, but I'm in no rush. I've got an SV650 at the moment, and I'm having way too much fun! 👍
I have my 2021 Moto Guzzi 85TT and 2004 Honda 1100XX Super Blackbird. If I will travel mainly in tarmac, I always choose Blackbird even it doesn't have Cruise, ABS or traction control. There are no adv bike which is very stable at constant speeds over +70mph/100kmh long travels. Blackbird absolutely wins in corners, straightline and it is as stable as an arrow, even in speeds over 120mph/200kmh. It feels much calmer to ride in highway speeds, to the point you find yourself yawning. Only downside is you want to speed up to about 90mph. At 100mph it feels exactly like you are travelling on adv bike at 50 to 60mph. It is mainly the riding position, it is unnatural, if you don't have any leaning angle towards the wind. Even if the wind hits your helmet it doesn't feel bad at all, if your position is more forward. I certainly suggest to try sport tourers for everyone who mainly ride in tarmac. They feel much, much safer and calm. The more weight, the better, if it's under 600lbs. I don't understand people, who wants bikes to be lighter. Heavier bikes are more stable no matter the speed. To me, it is exactly as comfortable to ride in traffic or in the city if the bike is moped, adv, sport bike or Touring Bike. I really feel people are exaggerating you can't ride sport tourers in city traffic. Why? They are much more stable when braking or standing still in the traffic lights. Heavy doesn't mean poor handling if the bike has low centre of gravity. I feel it helps the low speed handling immensely compared to advs. Advs are tall and you don't have enough pressure to the handlebars, because riding position is too straight up.
Comprehensive review, I really like the fact you take time to go through the walk around to the instrument cluster extensively. This is why I watch your reviews. Thank you.
Some standard accessories would make a big difference: 1) Larger electric windshield 2) Centerstand 3) Compact shaft drive. What is so very hard to do this? Until then, I'm keeping my FJR.
I’ve been riding a 2018 Suzuki VStrom 650XT (full power version in Australia) for the past 5 years. Very happy with it but looking to get a second motorcycle with a quick shifter and more enthusiastic power for urban transport. VStrom is still my go to for touring and light off-road adventures and is so hard to beat. A test ride of a 2022 GSX1000 GT proved it to be a compelling machine in its own right. Notably, excellent quick shifter, strong linear power and predictable handling. TFT is very clear and includes ambient temperature. Lower seat height compared to the VStrom is a benefit around town. Downsides of the GSXer for me after a 45 minute test ride were that it’s vibey through the foot pegs across the rev range, there appeared to be noticeable radiation from the catalytic converter on the left calf, fan triggers quickly due to engine heat even in mild spring temperatures in low to mid 20s (centigrade), more forward sporty handle bar position likely to be fatiguing on hands and wrists after an hour or so, brakes are spongey and feel vague although they stop okay under normal braking. No centre stand option would be a long-term frustration. In summary, if it was less vibey and had a centre stand I’d buy one for urban use, but perhaps I’ve been spoilt after years on the VStrom!
1:30 and that's not just Suzuki! Most Japanese car/motorcycle manufacturers have roots in very different areas, thats because of the nature as to how japanese companies work. They are more like 'tech conglomerates' that have many branches in different areas. For example also Toyota started with looms as well (when I visited their museum I was surprised to see that more than half of the museum was dedicated to textile stuff and not cars). I believe Kawasaki started with ship building, and of course, Yamaha started with organs/pianos (still have the tuning forks in their logo).
Excellent review, really thorough & a great value bike too. I also liked the Suzuki history & basic economics of the company as well. Most people are unaware of any of that & I think it's important to understand before you buy in to the brand. Suzuki are about bang for your buck & while they may not innovate much anymore, they produce great value, characterful & bulletproof bikes with a 3 year warranty. Simple.
One segment I would like to see on your awesome reviews, is a DIY friendly segment. Either photos or descriptions on how easy or hard core maintenance work for owner would be. For example a big 4. How easy to access air, oil filters, battery and drive system, chain or shaft. That can be a make or break no mater how good a bike is.
The last bike I owned was a 1993 CBR1000F. (I like the bigger sized bikes) If my wife's health would allow me to ride again. I WOULD BE ALL OVER THIS BIKE!
Hi Ian, thanks for a perfect test and info on this Suzuki GT. Still here in Sweden we have a cold spring season in the middle of April. The warm winds from south Europe will come within a week or two. I've just picked up my ny new Suzuki GT+ 2023 and it will be great to get out on the roads this summer. When I want a little bit more of touring and lazy comfort I take my GW1800 (2018). I have seen the most of your films on your channel. 2 thumbs up to you for giving us good info from different bikes. Wish you a nice spring and summertime over there / Pelle
I like it. I definitely agree with you about the styling of the front end. Still not a bad looking bike. I'd give up the 50 extra ponies for the AT. The AT will do anything the Suzuki will do, except for handling the road a little better. AT will probably have the better riding position. But the big thing is that when you see some dirt, it's bye-bye to Suzuki. AT takes it in the looks dept. also
Great video, no other reviewer provides the design details together and the ride experience details from a meaning perspective that I would want to know before laying down money.
Excellent content. I am currently contacting dealers to get a GT+. This review confirms my initial opinion that it will suit my interests. I now have two Suzukis, a Hayabusa and a Bandit, and both have been exceptionally reliable.
Excellent review and style. I like the quick pace and knowledge You keep the flow going and don’t bore the listener. May get one. Used to have an FJR but recently sold. I still think my Valkyrie rules. Best bikes ever made.
Great video as usual. But No justice until you review the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx - the only Japanese 4cylinder competitor to this bike. Looking forward to that.
Hi Ian, watching this excellent review the 2nd time. You seem to try to speed-up the review in between until you almost out of breath. What I like at your reviews is the thoroughness. Take your time. Before I am spending the money for a new bike, I definitely invest 45 min or more to enjoy a detailed and balanced review. Keep them coming.
Two items- 1) the dinky headlights. While LED projectors may shine forth at night, people, (and DEER) will not see one tiny pinprick coming at them, no matter how shiny. 2) How does this stand up to my OTHER possibility- the MT-10? No mention here.
I like it. I could see having this along side my FJR. Maybe not replacing it. I don't think it would do as well for all day two up riding, and I didn't see a good place for mounting a top case. But for single riding it looks like a blast.
Great review!. Love the roads. Tempted by the naked version. Not a big tourer , more winding back roads. Not convinced by the screen and weight. The GSX S1000 might be a great option.
Thanks. This is one of the best motorcycle reviews I've ever seen. Comprehensive and easy to follow. I've been looking at one of these bikes myself so, let's see what happens.
A guy in our riding group has just bought one of these and it really has caught the attention of most of the guys and a couple are looking at them for their next bike. While a bit older and without some of the modern technology I think the Tiger 1050 is a similar competitor.
Would you make a video (with references) showing annual sales of various bike manufacturers by country and worldwide? Also breakdown by specific models sold. I suspect Honda dominates due to Grom and Cub derivatives. You have mentioned sales in several videos, and I suspect many would find it interesting.
Great review on a very competent bike. The only thing it really needs is an aftermarket electric windscreen adjustment. And better tires according to the Brit-ish press something you didn't comment on interestingly.
Great to see a comparison made to the F900XR (Rather than simply the S1000XR which is in an entirely different price bracket). I'm just about to make the switch from the F900xr over to this bike. The BMW has all the bells and whistles in terms of tech, but Id happily give a few of them up for the engine and performance of this!
Just subbed. Not my style of bike but a great review. Been enjoying quite a bit of your content as I look to purchase a new bike in the middle of winter haha
Here in the UK you have to add the bags as an option, and with mounts and locks they are £1500!! thats nuts, i thought the bags on the s1000xr were expensive at £800 all in lol. Also nobody every looks at passengers which many will tour with. While a good single rider sports touring bike it's pretty poor for any 2 up touring. It has the same problem the ninja1000sx has with regards to a passenger in the short tail. The tail means the grab handles are in an odd possition behind and low and the bags are too far forward so with them on an average passenger with small to medium feet will have trouble getting them on the pegs without hitting the bags.
As usual a great Bike from Suzuki. I can’t imagine a better Bike for making serious fast miles in comfort. A perfect Bike here in the ROT where there are vast distances to be covered at speed. Get up to speed, set the cruise and turn on your choice of accompaniment in your helmet for the next 300 miles. Bravo Suzuki!
very very in depth talk on a very very nice motorcycle that has made very very many waves with perhaps a very very great future looming? :) I ride a suzzie!
BMW S1000XR. A bit higher priced but overall in the same category. BMW F900XR will be more agile and more "friendly" in the lower revs. Hondas new NT1100 (not yet sold stateside) would be a good comparison. I have an NT1100 on order (Thailand). Looking forward to it. (DCT) 👍 Might replace my F900XR. 🤔
I like watching your reviews. Unfortunately we don't get most of the bikes that your review here in India, but your videos are the closest to what i enjoyed from reading magazines many years ago while growing up. 👍👍👍
IMHO a description of the subjective feeling of the handling is crucial for a review of this kind of bike. That's the hardest part to guess from a spec sheet. (The hardest part to find words for also, reckon.)
Not had a ride on this but I've owned 8 suzuki motocyes over many years early 1970s small 2 Strokes up to GT 750 water cooled took that to Europe Belgium Brussels Luxembourg Switzerland France an Germany 850 shaft drive GS 1000 really good machines, the last several years I've owned my 1st kawasaki a sx 1000 2017 ,been a absolutely brilliant bike Looking at the specifications I'm not that overly impresed considering Suzuki have pitched this to be competitively priced with the kawasaki, I'll stick with the K for the moment , In Wales GB ,
Looks like fun. I have a 2002 VFR800 and it has that more relaxed sitting position and I love it. I wouldn’t pay for a true sport bike that has the very lean forward seating position.
I have a VFR 800 2002 as well, wouldnt call the riding position relaxed, the position on the suzuki looks more upright, you cant tuck in like you can on the VFR imo. The V4 sounds amazing though 🤗
There's another close competitor on this one, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, that also has a side pannier options. I think you can make a shootout between this one vs. Ninja 1000SX vs. V100 Mandello vs. Tracer 900GT+

Interested in a review of the 1000SX as well. With the bags added, it's still slightly less expensive than the Suzuki here in Canada.
Would love a 1000sx review as well. I'm just about to buy one, but would love a pro's insight!
I just bought one of these last week! Going from a 790 Adventure S to this because I can’t really ride off road where I live. It is so far just a wonderful motorcycle and offers so much for the price!
How do u find the screen? Is it sufficient for big miles? Also, any idea about 2 up riding. Best of luck , seems a wonderful bike
Gotta love that on this channel you just know before you even open up the video you know there's perfectly placed chapter markers and a "competition" section right as I want it. Love it!
Glad you enjoy it!
Nicely done review. I have the predecessor of this model the GSX-S1000F and find it to be an excellent solo rider sport tourer. The motor is certainly the highlight of this bike.
This is so true. The engine is the core point here. Just rode the Tracer 9GT. Drop by to see it.
I personally like the looks. It seems like a solid choice if you don’t want to go the ADV route. Thanks!
Agree, it looks great, but I wish they were more adventurous with colour schemes. Look at Aprilia, and BMW, for example.
Had a 2006 Suzuki Gsxr 1000 with this engine, best engine they ever made
Suzuki is my favourite brand.
Good review, shame about the windshield, seems a "sport-touring" bike should have an adjustable one with better wind protection.
It seems that the only option is to go for a touring one.
Ninja 1000sx has an adjustable windscreen
(Edit: she added a windshield extension, btw.)
This is a bike you can have fun with every day or jump on it and take a 4000 mile road trip without a worry. (Except usual road trip maintenance, of course.)
Best sport tourer out there so far!
Ian, your reviews are outstanding! The more videos you do the more you get better! It's unreal that this channel has become soooo good for us to visit, great, GREAT job!! 👏🏼♥️
Perfectly agree. Wonderful work here.
Ride safe!
@@davideulivieri5138 100% agree... ditch the bluetooth connectivity and give me an integrated center stand.
Was about to ask when you were going to review this bike. Love it.
Great looking bike and great package with panniers only drawback for me is as a sport tourer I would have thought a centre stand was warranted
yeah thats another thing that tells u this isnt any way shape or form a ST. right after u look at the smaller-than-a-sport-bike screen. its a gixxer squid missile sport bike for older filks who dont wont fold themselves up to ride a sport bike but still wanna haul ace. gixxer squid-mobile all the way. this wont do any serious highway riding noway. buzz u numb then painfully in less n 30mins/100miles at anything over 70. youd never last till the fuel light came on. and beat u to death with the wind.
nah, stay away from touring on this. run to walgreens, here an there B roads only with stoplights., an do what this gixxer waaaahhh machine it is is meant for. light to light waaaahhhh.
sure, with some bags/riding position so u wont get profiled by the cops.
"oh old guy, saddlebags, sitting up straight... nahhhh, solid citizen"
Suzuki gearboxes are made in heaven
I’m 59 years old and looking for my last motorcycle and this one might be it.Your reviews are really good.
I own this bike since May and I really like it. My only complaint is center stand...it needs one! This is a really smooth/comfortable ride. I'm 65 years old...if that matters!
I'm 65 and considering one of these. Currently on a 2018 Vstrom 650, which is a blast to ride.
Keep going Barry!!!
I second this. My 2001 bandit 1200 is perfect for sport touring. Lots of torque and able to do mild offroad. Even took her too tuktoyaktuk 2 up with my wife.
Totally agree with you. Plus Suzuki is bulletproof!! And it has the right amount of tech. Great Bike and great review.
This actually is a great bike , especially for the money. Bullet proof Japanese reliability.
Another Great review from Ian!
Right on!
Had a 2006 SV1000S for my second bike. Absolutely loved
What is your first bike? Did you finally buy the GSXS1000GT?
I love my blackbird! There is no bike that you can replace it with.
Excellent review and nice garage. After watching this video, I started cleaning my garage at 5am!🤣
Top-notch review Ian! Very detailed & much appreciated. Also love your garage & all the toys. Cheers from Canada, Ronny
Sayangnya motor ini tidak masuk di Indonesia. Motor ini ganteng banget. Berwibawa. Saya yakin built quality nya terbaik. Selamat untuk pemiliknya.
I received mine May 21st and have been loving it overall so far. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the review. I get my full licence in year and I'm thinking maybe something like this.
Excellent review as always, Ian. The sport touring segment is a dying breed and I'm glad to see this bike being made.
Coompetitors? LOL I thought I was going crazy for a minute. Great review, as usual. I really like the bike, and I hope they sell a million of them.
Defo choose this over the Vstrom for a touring bike.
Beautiful bike. Like the engine note as well. Great review
Love this bike, love Suzuki. I would like to see a 600cc version of this and the GSXS1000 naked bike.
That engine sounds glorious.
I absolutely love your garage! Please do a tour video at some point
Here in Norway this bike is $24k, was very surprised when u said the US price.
Test rode it this weekend and placed a deposit for a Black GT+ so I can finally retire my K6 GSX-R000. Thanks for your review.
Super good review. This is a nice bike and I like Suzuki. They give you a lot of motorcycle for a fair price.
very very in depth talk on a very very nice motorcycle that has made very very many waves with perhaps a very very great future looming? :) I ride a suzzie!
I'm in love with this bike. Could trade my Honda VFR800X Crossrunner... Hard choice
Brilliant stuff on this channel. Beautifully well thought out machine too. 😉
I like watching your reviews. Unfortunately we don't get most of the bikes that your review here in India, but your videos are the closest to what i enjoyed from reading magazines many years ago while growing up. 👍👍👍
Excellent review! I thought you’d forget about comparing it to the BMW R1250RS, which this bike reminds me of.
IMHO a description of the subjective feeling of the handling is crucial for a review of this kind of bike. That's the hardest part to guess from a spec sheet. (The hardest part to find words for also, reckon.)
Great review Ian,and a great bike too!
Not had a ride on this but I've owned 8 suzuki motocyes over many years early 1970s small 2 Strokes up to GT 750 water cooled took that to Europe Belgium Brussels Luxembourg Switzerland France an Germany 850 shaft drive GS 1000 really good machines, the last several years I've owned my 1st kawasaki a sx 1000 2017 ,been a absolutely brilliant bike
Looking at the specifications I'm not that overly impresed considering Suzuki have pitched this to be competitively priced with the kawasaki, I'll stick with the K for the moment , In Wales GB ,
Looks like fun.
@@usbsol I cheated and put bar-back risers on. Very comfortable
There's another close competitor on this one, the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello, that also has a side pannier options. I think you can make a shootout between this one vs. Ninja 1000SX vs. V100 Mandello vs. Tracer 900GT+
Great suggestion! I'm on the fence for a Tracer 9 GT+.
