An Aerotech game for starfighters would be brilliant.
A mechwarrior game that allows you to pilot mechs, tanks, battle armor, and vtols would also be fun.
An RTS that lets you control space, air, ground, and even sea units would be amazing

I just wanna say this thing weighs more than a B-52 Stratofortress. And is still able to go from the ground into space. This thing has to have stupidly powerful engines.

These would be preferred prey for my favorite aerospace fighter, The Vulcan.

Pity that we not can use these aircraft in MWO as support or as things for fly as pilots . Off course currently am to slow to be pilot but it should be in useful ... Thanks for a story !

If that were an option I'd fly more than I'd mech. Until then there's MWLL...

The biggest problem with this is that Aerotech is just a support module for Battletech and thus their rules are not very good. Vehicle rules are also not very good and tend to see vehicles and fighters getting the short end of the stick.
If they did add them to MWO you would likely die much faster then any mech since most fighters have only their speed to save them. Also you would be an LRM magnet lol.

You're right and it's a shame, but it started out as a mech combat game and they did really try to flesh it out as they continued to move the timeline. It just didn't work out with its foundation. "Realistically" there would be more variety in the other types of units than there would be of mechs, and mechs would be a rarity on the battlefield and would fill a very specific role. I hope they modernize the Battletech ruleset, or at least duel release a modern and traditional ruleset.

I have seen a number of rules to do with vehicles but the big thing is that the lore always states that mechs are greater than vehicles to every ruleset seems to have some built in weaknesses for vehicles over mechs. Most seem to involve being able to roll crits on the vehicles without stripping off all the armour while for mechs that is extremely rare.
To be fair those rules do make sense when one considers that vehicles generally have multiple crew members and the crew compartments also make up most of the vehicle's insides. Aerotech rules tended to focus around weaknesses in control surfaces and thus easy crits on those even when armoured still. Rotors also had very limited armour making LBX and LRM weapons very effective at shooting them down.
Basically Aerotech rules are great for space battles with other Aerotech Fighters / Dropships / Warships but not that good when paired with Mechs in ground based combat roles.
Another thing that a lot of house rules have looked into was the 'to hit' tables for everything. Being based on a D6 or 2D6 roll made most of them very unbalanced and a lot of house rules I have seen focused on changing to a D100 roll instead. While such rules make the game numbers flow smoother, actual game play was not as fast or efficient.
The new Battletech PC game seems to take those systems into account tho and looks very nicely polished. I'll be playing that as soon as it comes out. From the playthroughs I have seen vehicles are treated as they should be with smaller tanks dying to a single PPC while Manticores and Demolishers taking many rounds of combat to kill.
